The Holy Spirit produces self-control and hence, if you have the Holy Spirit, you wouldn’t please the desires of the flesh by engaging in homosexuality of pre-marital sex etc.

@srkb001 Jesus did not preach laws. He taught people the truth about God. Furthermore, He demonstrated why the law may have its weakness. This he did when he healed the oppressed on the Jewish Sabbath day; which was unlawful to do (John 5:1-15). However this was the law that people followed. If you were sick of an incurable disease, wouldn’t you want to be healed any day? Even the Sabbath day? But the law said it was unlawful to heal on the Sabbath. Do you now see why we need more than the law?
@srkb001 The meaning of Christianity is to be Christ like. To be Christ like doesn’t only mean to follow his teachings but it also means to have the nature of Christ (The Holy Spirit) within you. The Holy Spirit, which is the Spirit of Jesus, is the best teacher of moral law. It was the same Spirit that resided in Him and kept Him holy and righteous before God.

@ogilby5 I just wanted to mention that no true christian lives in sin voluntarily. If someone constantly lives in sin, he never truly became a believer (I Jn 2:1-2). In the parable of the 4 soils (Mat 13) there are 4 soils, which represent people responding to the gospel:3 out of 4 respond positively, but only one is a true believer. He does have a name: John the apostle. His gospel is dated to have been written around 90 A.D. John was the only apostle to die a natural death at an old age, which helps to explain why his gospel was written so late. Also, the fact that it doesn't contain as many details as the other gospels can attest to its late dating. John probably only remembered the things that stuck out to him that Jesus did and said. Of course, that's only speculation. But John's gospel is uniquely evangelical.
The Gospel of Matthew was named after Matthew in the 2nd century. It was Just a tradition, like the birth of Jesus in 25 of December, after centuries people figured out that it was just a pagan tradition. No historian could confirm who are the writers of the Gospels.
I do not need historians to prove to me who the writers were. The Holy Spirit can speak through a person without us knowing the person's name. In all 4 gospels Jesus comes the same - Son of God, Redeemer, King of the universe, both God and man, healer, prophet, priest, the lamb who was slain for the sins of the people. Just as he was described in the Old Testament. Please take the time to read them again, maybe God will help you see him as he is.

Have you read the OT? If you do, you will find that in the OT Yahweh ordained sacrifice for sins and predicted the coming of his Son who would be that sacrifice. See Isaiah 53 for example. Even the Demons that Jesus was about to cast out recognised him as the Son of God (Luke 4:33-35). Simeon, a priest that blessed Jesus when he was born said he was the saviour of the world. @srkb001 The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God that knows all things and knows what pleases God or what displeases Him. The Holy Spirit is ONE; and therefore if He resides in a true believer, the believer will then know God laws and what pleases him or displeases Him. Jesus explained in John 14:26 “But the COUNSELOR, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in MY NAME (Jesus), he will TEACH you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you”.

Therefore any Gay CHRISTIAN isn’t led by the Spirit of God or even if he is, then that person has chosen not to obey the convictions of the Holy Spirit. You do not need a set of Laws to know that Homosexuality is wrong. Even creation and nature does not permit it.

So it wasn’t that the Holy Spirit did not abide before Christ’s death, but rather that He abides more now with all true believers and not a selected few. In fact the Bible talk about the Holy Spirit as a guarantee of our inheritance after we have believed in the truth of the gospel and the saving grace of the Death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

@srkb001 Ephesians 1:13&14 – “In him you also, when you heard the word of the truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory.” Note that the passage stated that the Holy Spirit was a promise of God, a seal, after they believed in the gospel of salvation and believed in Christ.

There were many adulteress get forgiveness from prophet Muhammad too bcos punishment of adulteress is not as easy as many of us think. It requires four witnesses, it is almost impossible unless it was done in public.

Meaning that after Christ, there was no need for any Prophets as they had in the Old Testament. His death on the Cross was essential to pay the price for all sins of humanity. He was the perfect "Lamb" meaning He was righteous and holy without sin and hence His holiness and righteousness has been exchanged for our sins and condermination that was imputed on him by His death on the Cross. This he did when he healed the oppressed on the Jewish Sabbath day; which was unlawful to do (John 5:1-15). However this was the law that people followed. If you were sick of an incurable disease, wouldn’t you want to be healed any day? Even the Sabbath day? But the law said it was unlawful to heal on the Sabbath. Do you now see why we need more than the law?

The Holy Spirit, which is the Spirit of Jesus, is the best teacher of moral law. It was the same Spirit that resided in Him and kept Him holy and righteous before God.

@srkb001 When one becomes a Christian (After confessing Christ as Lord and Savior and also sometimes after being baptized) one receives the Holy Spirit of the Lord that gives us a better understanding of God’s moral laws rather than a written code of practice. An example; the law does not talk about a legal age to get married; hence you would find some older men who are ready to marry a girl as young as 12 years old because the law does not state it is wrong.

God will not judge you according to what you ate of did not eat. @ogilby5 I just wanted to mention that no true christian lives in sin voluntarily. If someone constantly lives in sin, he never truly became a believer (I Jn 2:1-2). In the parable of the 4 soils (Mat 13) there are 4 soils, which represent people responding to the gospel:3 out of 4 respond positively, but only one is a true believer. One leaves the faith because of persecution, another is living with the World system (sin without ceasing). You are right on persians, but the man was muslim.

As Christians we should ralize that Jesus died on the corss for our sins, Why would I want to sin as much as possible when Jesus sacrificed his life for me?

Did you hear the Gospel proclaimed in this video?
Oh, he DID say that God will forgive all your sins and that we CAN be reconciled to God, but he never, in any part of this video, even alluded to HOW God's plan of Salvation is accomplished.
In 11 minutes, he found NO time to share that Gospel with you who are listiening to him. Looking at the comments here, it is no wonder why some Muslims arriving here are mad. MacArthur has said NOTHING more than they can hear in their mosques.

Abdishikur, Jesus is God in the flesh! Only He is Worthy to bear our sins on the Cross. Therefore the fact that He was also Resurrected in the flesh is not a problem. Consider this Scripture verse: "Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God." (John 20:17)
Once ascended He was no longer flesh-and-blood but restored to His FORMER GLORY!!! God bless you!

In Islam, redemption is no different than what Jesus taught. When Jesus was asked about salvation and eternal life, he replied, keep the first commandment, love your God with all your heart, and love your neighbor. Jesus never mentioned the Original sin, he taught nothing in secret

But see, the fact is all mankind is radically depraved without God. This state of sinfulness has nothing to do with how much one sins or the severity of one's sins. It means that before Christ changes one's life, we are unable to come to God because we are dead in our sin. The epistle of James says that if you break one law, you are guilty of them all. God is perfect and he cannot allow sin to enter heaven so the forgiveness that comes through faith in God is required to enter heaven.

Where in the OT, salvation is through the death of the son of God? Where does OT talks about God having a son? Where is the Original sin in the OT? Jesus was teaching about the kingdom of God in his gospel, but with time, later Gospels are talking less about the kingdom of God but more about Jesus himself, the message was abandoned, and the messenger became the central point. Many sayings of Jesus in John, are not found in the earlier Gospels, Why?

Because John was written last. Not only that, John does not go into that much detail about Jesus' life as Matthew and Luke do, for instance. There are only 7 miracles recorded within the book of John as well. John focuses more on what Jesus said and about his message of eternal life. What do you say Jesus taught?

Jesus was sent to the people of Israel, to call them back to the way of God, they took their rabbis as Gods, they were people of adultery, interest and corruption. They made their tradition superior and forgot the way of God.
You can count the "I AM" statements in John, and compare with earlier Gospels, huge difference.

Right. The Gospel of John is about Jesus' identity as God and the savior of the world. Matthew focuses on what Jesus did, Mark focuses on Jesus' humanity, Luke focuses on the details of the events, and John focuses on the deity of Christ. Jesus claimed to be God. What's your point in all this?

My point is, the later the Gospel, the more the original message is distorted and drifted from it's original. What you should know, that the NT was collected 3 centuries after Jesus, there were people who preached Matthew and never saw john's gospel. Each community has its own Gospel.

Well for one those other gospels were inconsistent with what eyewitnesses knew about Jesus. Many of these false gospels, such as the Gospel of Mary Magdalene, the Gospel of Peter, and the Secret Gospel of Mark were rejected in the canon because they were not at all in line with the rest of the scriptures. Many were written by Gnostics, a group of heretics in that day. All four gospels were written by a community not just one person.

He does have a name: John the apostle. His gospel is dated to have been written around 90 A.D. John was the only apostle to die a natural death at an old age, which helps to explain why his gospel was written so late. Also, the fact that it doesn't contain as many details as the other gospels can attest to its late dating. John probably only remembered the things that stuck out to him that Jesus did and said. Of course, that's only speculation. But John's gospel is uniquely evangelical.

The Gospel of Matthew was named after Matthew in the 2nd century. It was Just a tradition, like the birth of Jesus in 25 of December, after centuries people figured out that it was just a pagan tradition. No historian could confirm who are the writers of the Gospels.

I do not need historians to prove to me who the writers were. The Holy Spirit can speak through a person without us knowing the person's name. In all 4 gospels Jesus comes the same - Son of God, Redeemer, King of the universe, both God and man, healer, prophet, priest, the lamb who was slain for the sins of the people. Just as he was described in the Old Testament. Please take the time to read them again, maybe God will help you see him as he is.

How did you know that the writers of the Gospels had the Holy Spirit? Why the Holy Spirit cannot tell the story without making contradictions? What is the criterion to include a gospel and to exclude another? Which bible is from God, the catholic or the protestant? Have you read the OT? If you do, you will find that in the OT Yahweh ordained sacrifice for sins and predicted the coming of his Son who would be that sacrifice. See Isaiah 53 for example. The reason why you don't believe that Jesus can pay for the sins of humanity is that you consider him a mere prophet. Just a man. And he is not. Just like Adam, he was the son of God, and he restarted the human race because he was perfect and because he was sacrificed for our sins.

Yahweh ordained sacrifice for sins, he also ordained to offer flour for sins instead of blood offerings. Isaih 53 speaks about the servant of God, do you worship the servant of God?
God restarted the human race in Noah time when he dawned all the bad people and left alive Noah because he was PERFECT!

As for the Holy Spirit, those who believe that Jesus of Nazareth is the Son of God have the Holy Spirit. I have him in me, therefore I can recognize his voice when he speaks. Our holy book was compiled by men but your holy book was WRITTEN by a man. Because your prophet Mohammed does not have the Holy Spirit. If he had him, he would praise Jesus the Messiah and tell you to worship Jesus instead of adoring Mohammed and an Allah who is incapable of having a Son.

Who told you that Noah was perfect? The servant of the Lord in Isaiah is Jesus. Paul was sure he had the Holy Spirit. The fact that he has him does not mean that he has stopped thinking. You can never praise Jesus the right way until you believe that he is the second Adam, the perfect Son of God. If you want to know Jesus, read the Gospels without prejudice. Christ said to the Jews that they had to believe in him because of the words he said and because of the things he did, because it was all from the Father. But that's from John's gospel, and maybe you think that it was not John who wrote it... I'm not here to prove the deity of Christ to you. Christ will prove it to you if he wants to.
