1 Obtain an empty plastic spray bottle. These can be purchased cheaply, or you can simply rinse out an old cleaning solution bottle. 2 Fill the bottle half way with warm water. 3 Add half a cup of salt. 4 Add two cups of bleach. 5 Add half a cup of hydrogen peroxide. 6 Mix the solution together. Allow the salt to dissolve. 7 Spray in large sweeping motions over the poison ivy. Be quite generous, soaking the plants. This works wonders as well.

iI know a way to get rid of it too,get bleach dump some bleach on a white towl then rub where it itches but if the poison is on your face do not bleach your face with it it is dangerous to use the bleach on your face. the bleach will sting for a minute but it is worth it.

if you keep pulling it up, even just the leaves, it will die. Good method if you don't want to buy expensive chemicals

I got brush to clear that contains poison ivy, poison oak and sumacs. I am going to cut it then herbicide it. I am trying rock salt to kill brush.

the best way to rid of poision ivy is to scratch as much as you can and take a hot shower and scrub the posion ivy all over your body and then go out side and roll around in some poision oak. that will take care of your problem

Clorox bleach and a stiff brush

pour it on and scrub untill all of the blisters are busted .

then pour a lil more bleach on.

then let it dry

then take a cool shower .

when you finish washing every thing lather some dandruf shampoo on it , let it sit for a couple minutes then rinse and pat to dry

put some cala dril loton on let it dry , then go about your day .

POISON IS GONE.

You are right caprisun, hot water and bath can spread, you want cold water, no washcloth or scrubby, just rinse off really good within 20 minutes of expusure. the sooner the better. If you get it bad you will need to come see me and get an RX for steroids and maybe a steroid shot

if you have it on your arm go to your shower and turn on the hot water and turn it up when you get use to the heat then when your arm is beat red the posion wont itch

@KiddyPoops ...agree. I turned on the faucet as hot as I could take it for about 30 seconds or so. I think the hot water kills or deadens the nerves and you won't feel the itch. Made a world of difference.

you can try to rub it off with a little bleach, if that doesnt work keep putting on the aloe (they make spray bottles that are very convenient) and take oatmeal baths, and do those frequently and youll rid yourself of the itching a lot faster

Does anyone know of a natural enemy, insect or plant, of poison ivy? If you were trying to clear a whole forest of it you couldn't spray all of it or even afford the herbicide.

the oil is the bad stuff, it is in every part of the plant, and can still harm you even after the plant is dead. So I would only use disposable gloves on it, or use normal gloves and wash them after youre done with the project.

Remember, you should NEVER burn these plants. If inhaled, the smoke may cause systemic toxic effects.

Also, wear protective throw away clothes and gloves when uprooting. The resins are always active even when these plants are dead or dormant.
