Perhaps u should get some more knowledge on the subject u idiots!! U wanna come live in My basement and i could learn you some tricks you could do to get some threats!!! These animals are not suppose to be held in captivity. It is animal cruelty at it's worse. Watch the cove then you might get a bad taste in your mouth!!
I loved going to sea world so much when I was younger, my favorite memory was going to this show and my dad would let me go stand next to the tank so i would get all wet :)
Captivity is wrong - these animals should not be in a tank, 4 orcas have died in the last 4 months in seaworld. The reason being living a highly stressful life in a bath tub, having an artificial diet and living in chemically treated water in an environment that puts tremendous stress on their bodies so much no orca in captivity has lived the age of 30, in the wild they live to be 60-80 years old the same as a human.
THis is wrong and its time people take note and help.
i remember tht part! the first part of the day! i love the dance and the song! i went to seaworld yesturday! (september 2010 monay) man i wish yesturday restarted
marine biologists and animal behaviour experts reckon orcas are better off in the wild, hunting for their food and enjoying the vast expanse of the ocean where they swim up to 50 miles a day and dive hundreds of feet. But by keeping them in captivity aquariums can make lots & lots of money and entertain people
Did u guyz hear about shamu at California it had diareia when it jump up in the sky it fell in the water and all of the diareia went all over the ppl in the splash zone and he started to splash it tail to my best friend was there
The organizers of this show are so clueless and dumb. What the hell is up with the music and cheesy presenters? Who gives a shit, people are there to see killer whales. Something is really bizarre about American entertainment culture. Just take our popular TV shows for example, or look at how popular destinations like Broadway or the Las Vegas strip are. And who can even stand to watch our news anchors? Are people in this country really that retarded? I'm moving to Europe, I hate you people.
Whales are not pets!!! I don`t know who the heck sea world thinks they are but they need to STOP this crap!!! Why would you do this to innocent animals!!
cont....living long lives well that sucks for them then doesnt it cause if they had the choice im sure the less time they were alive & trapped in a tiny pools the better!! next time reply please with something that has a decent argument for animal captivity "not that there is one!!!"
im sorry but the justifying comment replied to my post of "wild animals kept in paddling pools think id attact my pisoner too" was: "the animals are kept safe and well fed and live long lives."
well thats ok then!!???!! get real!!! they are fed well in the wild! thats where they are supposed to hunt naturally not have a few fish chuckedat the to perform tricks! and as for
Ok, lets rescue you, put you in a place of one big house, lock you up for rest of your life, feed you and make you work 6 times a day. See how you like it. I'd rather die then have a life like that. Watch them before the show and see how their fins are down. It means they are depressed.
Their fins down does NOT mean they are depressed. Several THEORIES for why the fins droops is because of its weight, in the wild orcas dive up to 500 feet..that pressure helps keep the fin erect, the heat also causes the fins to soften (which is why in sea world florida even the FEMALES have droopy fins..its much hotter there) . 23% of wild male orcas have leaning/drooped fins
All Sea Worlds should be shut down and demolished. Sea Worlds support the slaughter of dolphins in Japan, it is the sole reason why they capture the dolphins. The ones that are the strongest are sold to Sea Worlds all across America for a lot of money, the weaker ones are slaughtered and sold in Japan markets, often deceptively labelled as whale meat because most Japanese avoid eating dolphin meat due to very high mercury levels. Sea world supports the murder of thousands of dolphins every year.
ok listen just because yuo heaard that in a magizine doesnt mean its true and if you have something to say to them message them cause people came to this video to enjoy not be ruined by nasty comments like that
@dargay how are they - no captive orca has lived past the age of 40 in a tank, in the wild they live to be 60 or even to 80! The chemicals, the fake diet, un natural environment and great stess is unfair.
@HelloGocki ur a fucking idiot. exposed to direst sun? it would be the same if they were in the ocean i dont see any trees out there for them to get some shade under. all these animals were born at seaworld and if they are put in the ocean they will die cause they dont know how to hunt in the ocean

hahaha this thing is amazing me and my bro were on like 10 rows under you ;) we got splashed so much....we were soaking wet and water was salty...which is nasty..but still a whole lot of fun :)
Everyone knows how cruel it is to keep free roaming animals captive, One of my 'pet' hates is a bird in a cage, when you think what birds do it is a sick way to treat them, although birds aren't as smart as Orcas, I feel there's is something more important than intelligence, It is about spirit and will, to break a creatures spirit and it's natural will so you can contain it for amusement and profit is purely evil minded.
I saw shamu show almost two years ago, that animal was very intelligent and smart...that made me cry. I live in italy and I'd love to come back there sometime
I went to see Shamu in San Diego one time. When I was walking into the stadium, a lady asked me if I wanted to be part of the show and feed Shamu. In the middle of the show, they called my name and I got to go up and meet one of the divers. I got to feed Shamu and the diver gave me the necklace he was wearing. It says: Paul, anything is possible. BELIEVE - Art. (I'm assuming Art is the diver's name, but I'm not sure).
this show is amazing. I love the older one better. I'd be too scared to qork with a killer whale..mostly because of the crowd thats watching..i want to work with the dolphins in the dolphin exhibit.
Since 1987 over 50% of the adult Sea World orcas have died."This is a deplorable record. Both Sea World and Annheuser-Busch, owners of Sea World, must be held accountable. The public needs to know why so many animals have died. Sea World is clearly lacking in their care and handling of these magnificent animals. It is such a waste!"Kelly Keagy-Bullock, spokesperson for the Free Corky Project,
I went to America with my family when I was 10 years old (1993). Of course I remembered DSisneyland, but I know I will never forget this show, it was so amazing and inforgettable
I know that....I said I will never forget Disneyland, and I would never forget the show from seaworld......I just didn't add in the Seaworld.....I thought people would understand what I meant.........
The name Shamu means "friend of Namu" or "She-Namu" and was given to the first female orca ever captured. She was intended to be a companion for the orca Namu at a Seattle public aquarium, but the orcas experienced social conflicts and Shamu was eventually leased to and then purchased by SeaWorld San Diego on December
Today, "Shamu," "Namu," and "Ramu" are trademarked stage names given to all of the orcas residing within the SeaWorld parks.
these 30+ whales in captivity have saved thousands by showing the intelligence of these mammals and preaching conservation. hmm seems like a better deal for the masses.
i wnat to be a shamu trainer when i grow up and if you do i'll tell you what things you have to do i know them because i got a book about what you do if you want to be a trainer here it goes, you need good grades in school, develop swimming skills as possible, take scuba classes, practice public speaking abilities and maintain a positive attitude!!!!!!
Yes it would be ideal if they could live in the ocean, but seaworld like zoo's does serve a purpose. These animals are ambassadors. When hundreds of thousands of children and adults see these amazing creatures they are more inclined to protect those living in the wild. They also do a lot of research on these animals which serves the great good of their species.
the people that got the while and everything are ther trained to be in the show,s and the trainer help them out and make them better and some times they let some of the whiles go and some stay and be port of the show dant hate!
you're right.. why would anybody bother to pay any money to see orcas forced to perform like slaves in a small pool? I would pay a lot of money to see them in the wild, but this is stupid and boring.
These whales would die in the ocean. All but the oldest one or two have been born in captivity (MMPA of '72, look it up); it would be similar to releasing a housecat into the wild, where it really "belongs." Also note how the trainers reward each behavior with fish (called positive reinforcement). If a whale didn't want to perform, it wouldn't, and Sea World doesn't use negative reinforcement, so no punishment for the whale. The shows/behaviors are an enrichment activity, like training dogs.
Oh Please your a Stupid Idiot; First of all The Whales LOVE their trainers just like the love a Dog has for their owner. And If they didn't They WOULDN"T BE DOING IT!! Sea World Doesn't force them!!
lol I never got why people say "Whales / Dolphins are abused for Entertainment" . These are huge mammals, weighing thousands of pounds, and they are smart. If they didn't want to do something, they just won't do it.
No human trying to train a whale, would physically abuse one. And every trainer says that wild animals can't be tamed, even birthed in captivity, they still have the instincts.
Hey I was there that day! I was only 8 though.

no, not all sea worlds need to be shut down.
however, someone said that this pool is really small. Yes, it is, the entire stadium is much smaller then the one in Orlando.
Sea World takes great care of their animals and the fact that people think that they should be shut down, is obnoxious.
Half of these animals at Sea World are rescued and if they hadn't have been, they would have died.
The animals at Sea World have very good lifes with trainers who truly care about the animals.

Whales that perform in places like this live about a tenth of a life they should.

I was there in summer, it´s a very nice show^^ Btw the pool is very big, but agree with u, they belong in the ocean
alexgrym 3 years ago
the people that got the while and everything are ther trained to be in the show,s and the trainer help them out and make them better and some times they let some of the whiles go and some stay and be port of the show dant hate!
BELIEVESEAWORLD 3 years ago
I think this is disgusting .. Making "killer" whales doing THEIR show .. These wales belong in the ocean not in some pool .

you're right.. why would anybody bother to pay any money to see orcas forced to perform like slaves in a small pool? I would pay a lot of money to see them in the wild, but this is stupid and boring.

These whales would die in the ocean. All but the oldest one or two have been born in captivity (MMPA of '72, look it up); it would be similar to releasing a housecat into the wild, where it really "belongs." Also note how the trainers reward each behavior with fish (called positive reinforcement). If a whale didn't want to perform, it wouldn't, and Sea World doesn't use negative reinforcement, so no punishment for the whale. The shows/behaviors are an enrichment activity, like training dogs.

Some how this pool looks a bit smaller than the one in Orlando. Also looks like the LED screens don't rotate as well.

Oh Please your a Stupid Idiot; First of all The Whales LOVE their trainers just like the love a Dog has for their owner. And If they didn't They WOULDN"T BE DOING IT!! Sea World Doesn't force them!!
kedelucia 2 years ago
lol I never got why people say "Whales / Dolphins are abused for Entertainment" . These are huge mammals, weighing thousands of pounds, and they are smart. If they didn't want to do something, they just won't do it.
No human trying to train a whale, would physically abuse one. And every trainer says that wild animals can't be tamed, even birthed in captivity, they still have the instincts.
