Damn! That's a nice Lincoln there yo! I love them big Lincolns man. I was hoping that I can find one of these Mark IVs here as a second car once I pay off my Lincoln Aviator man.
I really like this car! Smooth it is. Aren't they all? I like that little vent window and that luxurious red interior. Do you have many Lincs in the Netherlands? I bet this car gets a lot of compliments. Yes, and that 460 engine can really kick ass.
that lincoln is very nice man. my buddys got a 75 also but complete shit right now, rusted. we are going to restore it but i got to say man yours looks nice, how many miles on that? your right that was a smooth start up, like similar to a brand new lincoln!
Yes I know you can cranck up the 460 easily with a little effort. However it's already fast original, like this. And it used to be a relaxed driver car. So I'll keep it this way though.
Mixture adjustment will probably need to be richened slightly too after recurving. The ford distributors are a real bear to recurve though. You have to pull the shaft to get to the plate and then you may need to grind or weld on the plate to get it perfect. It's easiest to get the MSD "ready to run" distributor. Then you may run into air cleaner clearance issues. Ahh!
If you want that baby to burn rubber and improve the acceleration do this- Bump the initial timing up as far as it will go without causing excessive starter load when engine is warmed up. Than curve the distributor so centrifigal advance is all in by 3000 to 3500 rpm. Total advance should be about 34 to 38. Don't use the vacuum advance. It will ping like crazy. Put a bearing in it's hose or disconnect and plug it. Have a shop with an exhaust analyzer do it to make sure she passes emissions.
NICE FUCKING LINCOLN !!!!!!!!!! in 1984 my brother bought a 1975 Lincoln Continental with a 460 4bbl.... brown on brown leather,,,not my colour but what the hell... one day we were driving up hiway #1 in British Columbia and
a dude in a 1980 Trans Am with a 400 pulled up beside us and wanted to give it a whirl.... we both tromped on it at about 60 mph,, the T/A stayed with us for a bit but slowly fell behind, at 110 mph he was at least 1 1/2 or 2 car lenghts behind us,
Love that view down the hood!!
