I have to play on Master Diff. cuz of my gear. I literrally two shot dragons (normal ones), and blood dragons are too easy too..... So i usually hope to meet a Dragon Priest + a Elder dragon or something to make it exiting O.o (like in Shearpoint)
any tips for me i play on adept on a adept destruction mage mostly use lightning but its not allot of damage when i fight dragons altrough at anything else i hit hard anyway dragons are just anoying and hard for me to fight when i play my lvl 10 mage anyone has tips ? for when it comes to dragon vs mage?
The dragon says "Yol.." before breathing fire. Since you have the subtitles on, use this as a little early warning (Frost dragons say "Fo.." before they breathe)
@epicmanz64 it's a often random scenery that can appear anywhere. You can find dragons in the dragon head thing on the map but if it isnt there you may have killed it once before or just wait for it to appear
a little advice mate if you want use wards from restoration school in 1 hand and destruction in the other and be ready to activate it at least 1 sec before he use the fire/ice breath so it is at full power now that i have 60 restoration my wards spell recharge my magicka too and off course i have almost 340% magicka regeneration and 450 magicka...wards consume pretty high magicka even with the skill to absorb magicka when attacked by spells but still is a fast way to kill dragons:))
I like Master difficulty because the fights are fun and take a little skill to win. Sometimes though Master difficulty is a BITCH. Some enemies are insanely strong when they shouldn't be. A few good examples are Saber Tooth cats, Bandit Marauders, and moderate to high lvl mages or necromancers. The reason I stopped playing on Master was when a Bandit Marauder mage dropped me in two spells and I have 190 hp. Each spell must have been doing 90+ damage which is insane.
@ZM7241994 You do buff yourself up before every engagement, right? My character on Master Difficulty relies heavily on upgraded armor and defense spells to allow me to survive a conflict.
@WingsOfReparation I usually do try and get better armor but this is difficult to do on Master. In order to survive on it you need to put everything into combat skills and I can't afford to put four to five perks into Smithing or Enchanting at least not for the first 20 levels. On lower difficulty levels you have some room to screw around with the perks but not on Master.
Best method is: Get 0% destruction cost, buy the spell lightning storm, cast and hold. The dragon won't even be able to shout at you because of the 100% mini-stun (mini-stuns are like 0.3 secs of disruption, not the same as a bash). Im gonna post a video on it later.
NEVER EVER EVER DUEL fireball or icespike. it does next to no extra damage. You get double the damage for just firing two singly for the same amount of magika
@theglitchgod omg what a noob you are. have you heard of 0% destruction cost and 0% restoration cost?, have you heard of the spell lightning storm? the shout become ethereal?
^-- pro tips on fighting an ancient dragon at master difficulty
I find it funny how some people say your basic dragon is too easy. If they think that then should bump up the difficulty to Master and see if they still think that.lol.
Also playing a pure-mage here. Level 34 at the moment with perks in Resto, Destro, Alteration, Conjuration, Alchemy and Enchanting. I'm finding that outdoors I can brutally savage anything in the game, even on master, with relative ease. My issues have stemmed from the tight corridors in caves/dungeons. When 4 melee are coming at you and your summoned minions are getting one-shot, the second that ax swings for you, you're dead. A falmer one-shot me with an arrow last night. One arrow.
does playing on master difficulty improve the overall gameplay experience? i mean, do you feel more accomplished/have more fun? or does master difficulty make the game feel unbalanced/more tedious and boring? i would like your opinion on this.
this looks so tedious-i was planning to go through the game once more on master df after i finish one play through on normal but this is just masochistic.
I smithed a bow and with perks and enchants, it has a base damage of 300, I don't have all the archery perks though. With about 1000 armor, I went to bleak fall barrows to start questing and died in 2 shots.
@DangerMickey on master difficulty Bandit Marauders will 2 shot if assuming you have max armor and 500 HP, if you over-level to 45 or so they start appearing in bleak falls. Obviously if you go nude at level 1 anyone can, durr. Use console commands to up your level to 50 and set the difficulty to master. Try and go nude then and post a video as proof.
@DangerMickey Never said I didn't have enchants to 1 hit everything, but either way with max physical resist and magic resist they can still 1hit you easily on master difficulty
Having flesh serving its purpose helps lvl alteration. (Getting hit with flesh protection cast) you can also pay master alt for trainings to lvl it until you unlock better alt spells then it's easy leveling from there.
@hellzbomber It gets a lot better once you have impact (the destruction stagger perk) + fireball, but yeah it was pretty tedious back when I recorded this. This mage is level 22 now and I just made a dual wielding rogue to try something new, we'll see how it goes (mages fuck me up, though, at level 6)
@hellzbomber best thing to do in order to get max pleasure in the game in my opinion is to make a good fighter with additional skills in magic and rogue too, he won't be overly dominant in any situation, but at least you won't be weak in any situation either.
master difficulty is good too btw, a solid companion also makes things much easier...
@hellzbomber thats why basicly you restrict yourself and do not enchant and do not pick the major skills. sounds wierd but is way more challenging and fun. I play on master, almost never pick health on either my "ranger" or my mage-type. Both practicly get one- or two-shotted by any monster. Lvl 33 atm and I'm only at High Hrothgar for now.
@Sobored203@DroptekOfficial As far as I know you can only do that on PC. Press Q to bring up your favorites menu, highlight a skill, then press a number between 1-8. It will assign that skill to that number.
@Revange50 At level 5 you'll just be using the basic Flames/Frostbite/Shock spells that shoot in a cone in front of you but later on you can get the Firebolt/Ice Spike projectiles that make it easier to hit stuff that's far away.
And when you hit level 40 destruction you can buy Fireball, which is amazing. It makes a huge, satisfying explosion on impact and you feel really powerful casting it.
@haunter600 IMO killing a dragon with mace/sword is the fastest way. Just make sure you dodge the dragon's attacks until he lands then when he shouts bring up your shield (btw make sure to bring alot of healing potions). Then attack as much as possible. I've noticed that melee attacks do alot of damage.
@haunter600 I didn't level Alteration very much... I started to, but it was slow and not particularly helpful so I went Conjuration instead. The Flame Atronach grabs the attention of enemies while I blow them up, so I don't have to worry about being squishy, even on Master. I'm running around with 100 HP and 0 armor rating without too many problems. One hit from a bear and I'm fucked, though. :S
@EnjoysMudkipz It helps a lot with my heavy armor/shield class, as it's pretty much only good at tanking, but levelling alteration was really slow. To rephrase the question : how does levelling alteration work? when i cast oakflesh (+40 armor rating) until i run out of mana, wait an hour and do it again, it doesn't seem to be changing my alteration level. But i know it goes up because sometimes casting it before a fight seems to level it up. The wiki didn't help, nor google.
@haunter600 You can't just chain-cast it, you don't get skill points for that. It seems that you get only get skill points whenever you enter combat with an Alteration spell active. When I was trying to level it, I would cast Oakflesh on myself. Then 10 seconds later a wolf starts running towards me and I get the "Alteration has increased to 17" message. Maybe you could cast Oakflesh and let a mudcrab attack you for a bit, I'm not sure.
@chaganita13 Honestly, I can't remember where I found that shout. I googled it, but I haven't found any results since the game is brand new. Sorry. :S
As for the quest I was doing, the Jarl of Morthal asks you to kill this dragon after you finish the quest that comes before it. Just walk into Morthal and talk to her, to start the prerequisite quest.
@EnjoysMudkipz Could be wrong, but I think the Ethereal Shout is from the tomb that the Greybeard's send you to, to get the last word of the Unrelenting force shout. The tomb is just south-west of Dawnstar if you haven't got to that bit of the quest though.
@lordy2808 Yeah that's where I've read it is, too, but I still haven't done that quest, so I must have picked it up somewhere while randomly exploring.
@chaganita13 Its in one of the caves in the main story line but it's kind of out of the way so if you don't explore while questing you might've missed it.

You really ought to try (if you haven't yet) semi-tanky with dual-wielded blades, and the Elemental Fury. Your DPS is INSANE.
Even without enchants you will saw-blade through those Dragons. I've been killing them in literally 2 seconds after they land. It's silly.
