It's really a shame Kournikova didn't get to win a singles title, she definetly had the game and all the stuff to win a good number of it, and It was a shame all those injuries and the early retirement, things really didn't go well for this russian

Unbelievable that a player with Anna's skills did not win a singles tournament. She was an excellent player and it still boggles my mind. Nevertheless, I love her to bits. Kournikova '98 was amazing.

@carling5 well you know she was a huge name, so she always played the biggest tournaments and with Hingis, the Williams, Davenport, etc... it was really tough to win. If I were her, I'd have just played a super small tournament, win it and get it over with, and move on.

@carling5 She got close when you lost to Venis in the finals. It says on wikipedia that her groundstrokes caused her frequent errors and she had problems with her serve. I never watched her, but when I do on youtube she really is good.

I hated Hingis '98, she was so unfit and uninspiring. Her shots had no power and no angles. I however loved Kournikova '98, she was very lethal.
