if they put a seal on the hole where the botfly breathes then it does suffocate and therefore stiffens. It is a parasite, meaning that it uses a host to survive for some time, it feeds off the human, and uses the human skin as protection. Once it suffocates it can be squeezed out like that. This is a real video.

Very true. My brother got one of these in his leg after he travelled to Mexico. His doctor used vaseline and covered it with the same adhesive patch that they use to cover IV sites. After a day of wearing that, the larvae came up to the skin's surface and almost out on it's own.

if this happens to you, there are many ways to remove it, but one way is the best. when the botfly hatches in you, it will clang onto the inside of your skin. so that means trying to pull it or squeeze it out, it can be dangerous. if doing that, it could tear the inside tissue of your skin, meaning more chance of infection. what you should do, is put rubbing alchohol on you, so it cant breath, which it will have to come out. that will be the safest.

This is the worst way to do it. If you ever get a botfly larvae in you, don't squeeze it out. The larvae have a skill they use, where they grip onto the sides of the hole in your skin, so when you try to pull them out, they can resist better. That also means, if you pull them out, it can cause more damage inside the wound. So you might wonder what way to do it? Just put petrolieum jelly on it and it will get out of the hole because it can't breathe, then you can get it.
