  • Holy sh*t hes good.

  • Whenever I hear Becker, initially I cry on the inside because I realise I will never match his standards of playing but I also realise I am wanting to cry because of how unjust Becker was stricken with the condition he has. Why oh fucking why? Can't some useless idiot like Lindsey Lohan or somewhat of the such be condemned by such fate? Jason, you did not deserve this but thank you for the music you have given us...

  • fuck you batio you suck compared to becker

  • @GEO2DOPE Batio is awesome. Becker is awesome.

  • @EspGuitars1337 batio became shit to to me after hearing jason becker sure he can play fast but thats all he ever does he does not have soul like jason becker on on top of that becker plays a variety of tones way different from batio so no hes not awsome is jason becker is awesome because of the he plays oh not to mention the guy still writes music with his fucking eyes thats awesome and real determination right there

  • He is the reason to music, he is one of the very few people that really understand the true meaning of music out of all musicians, Becker is someone to truly look up to in so many different ways, Thank You God or whatever mystic force to have brought to this world such an inspiring character and one of the most awesome, breath-taking human beings to have ever set foot on this planet, Long Live the Becker !.. a true ICON !

  • @enos218 lol interesting analogy but wouldn't playing notes add to your bank because you get more experience?

  • @ChainsawVsGod The simple fact is he has put out 5 solo albums, done a lot with Marty Friedman, as well as David lee Roth. He continues to work his ass off while paralyzed. He has mastered his instrument. And you? saying you've written better pieces than this? What do you have to show for all your supposed "musical knowledge". PSH 50 midi files? excellent! keep up the good work

  • @yeena4567

    Ouch. That hurt dude.

  • @ChainsawVsGod jason becker add that effect to make the song alot better and if he were to play it alot cleaner, i will not really go with the song, thats why he made it a little messy, if u want to see him doing sweeps cleanly, then go check out serana and other songs peace! :)

  • @llopezfamily sorry for the misspelling lol

  • just enjoy the music you two, ok? go argue somewhere else

  • This is beautiful.

  • well. that was pretty fuckin good

  • God those intro sweeps make me vomit. So sloppy and I'm sure there's a wrong note or two in there too. Huge, fast sweeps aren't impressive if you can't do them cleanly.

  • @ChainsawVsGod Keep in mind he was only 19 when he recorded this and sometimes when things are sloppy it actually makes the song sound better, as weird as that sounds.

  • @ChainsawVsGod there isn't any wrong notes in there. jason liked to throw in variations inside the arps and put some extra notes in the sweeps and solo playing. why are you people so narrow-minded. he isn't using a sequence or an arpeggio that has been beaten to death. he was 16 years old when he wrote this piece which has pretty original stuff in it, so you know what? this is impressive cause he made this piece out of nothing at the age of 16. you can pretty much fuck off with your comment.

  • @jimmyleppard6

There clearly are wrong notes. it is extremely sloppy. I'm not complaining about him artistically adding in extra notes. I'm complaining because it sounds like shit.

You can pretty much fuck off with your comment.

  • @ChainsawVsGod it sounds like shit to YOU. guess what? I don't mind cause you don't matter. music is subjective. just because you think it sounds like shit doesn't mean ANYTHING, so again, you can pretty much fuck off with your previous and your last comment.

  • @jimmyleppard6

If I don't matter then why are you getting so mad and swearing at me? Not my fault this guy couldn't play guitar properly.

  • @ChainsawVsGod L-O-L. You just dug your own grave on youtube. L-O-L.

  • @jimmyleppard6

Oh really? What's gonna happen to me? Is my life ruined now? Will I be spammed to death now? What's likely is that I'll receive a couple of angry comments. Jesus what a silly little fag you are ;)

  • @ChainsawVsGod No. You just sounded like a complete stupid ass bitch. In WRITING. You don't know shit about music, so I don't have to talk to you anymore. LOL. You failed so hard. Double facepalm.

  • @jimmyleppard6

I know plenty about music kid. I studied it at college and have written nearly 50 songs. Learn to deal with other people's fucking opinions. And you can facepalm all you want. Just because you type "facepalm" doesn't mean that you're right. Just means that you know you've lost the battle and that you're going for cheap, pathetic and childish points. Grow up.

  • @ChainsawVsGod WOW ! you know plenty about music? doesn't show here. You have written nearly 50 songs? Well, let me hear them. post it on youtube, let us see your ''college music knowledge''. And don't call me a kid, please. And again, I didn't lose any battle. you just failed. big time.

  • @jimmyleppard6

Haha... Dude I ain't gonna record and put my songs on youtube for your fuckin benefit.

And yeah. I totally failed. Sure...

  • @ChainsawVsGod Now you've failed again.. it's not because of my benefit, it's because there isn't any songs. And thank you for admiting it at last.

  • @jimmyleppard6

Rofl. Why would I lie. If you really wanted to hear one of my songs then you'd need to give me your email address and I can send you a MIDI file but I can't imagine you'd be interested in that. And I was being sarcastic when I said I failed. Obviously.

  • @ChainsawVsGod Wanting to look cool by talking shit about one of the best guitarists ever, eh?

  • @yerfdog1935

It's youtube. I couldn't care less about how I look. Just giving my honest opinion.

  • @ChainsawVsGod I'll just say this to you. It's easy to criticise when you're nowhere near his skills and imagination. You just keep trolling about how ''he can't play guitar properly'', but you only to that because you feel insecure around his music so you wanna comfort yourself by thinking he can't play guitar properly. You're just inadequate son of a bitch.

  • @jimmyleppard6

Meh. Pretty sure I've written better songs than this. Don't try and tell me what I'm thinking or why I'm doing things. You know fuck all about me. All you've seen is a few comments. You might think that you're a really perceptive person but you really ain't. Every cunt on youtube thinks that they know someones life story through youtube. It's pretty tiresome.

  • @ChainsawVsGod And you've just admited it. Pathetic troll. Go trolling somewhere else.

  • @jimmyleppard6

Lol. Dude I ain't trolling. I'm writing well thought out and reasoned comments. You're just getting mad and calling me a troll. Sounds to me like you're the troll.

  • @ChainsawVsGod If ''sounds like shit'' is a well thought out and reasoned comment, than damnit, I'm amazed. You're even more stupid than I thought. a stupid troll, a perfect combination. LOL. Please, just stop commenting here. You make me feel embarrassed by your comments LOL

  • @jimmyleppard6

LOL okay dude LOL I'll go. If you had bothered to look at my earlier comments I explained exactly why it sounded like shit so yes, it was thought out and reasoned LOL LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

*hint hint you look like a stupid cunt when you repeatedly say LOL. Good day. My tip for you is to learn to deal with negative opinions instead of having your period and acting like a little bitch, calling everyone a troll just because they don't agree with you.

  • @ChainsawVsGod I don't have a problem with people who don't agree with me. I respect everybody's opinion. I have a problem with stupid assholes like you who cluster-fuck everyone on youtube 24/7 giving comments and expressing their ''opinions'' and ''feelings'' about stuff with no knowledge about the subject OR/AND with no proper foundation or reason. You people make me sick.

  • @jimmyleppard6

I've expressed my reasons in detail and I have a very good knowledge of music. Stop presuming everything. It's sad the way you presume that you know everything and that anyone who disagree's with you knows nothing.

You can't say you respect everyone's opinion then say you don't respect mine just because you're a fanboy who won't hear anything bad against his idol. Be more open minded.

  • @ChainsawVsGod I'm not a fanboy and I'm willing to hear what's bad about Jason, but tell me something reasonable. I haven't heard or read anything from you yet. Be good and repeat them for me. I'm very open-minded for your info. And I haven't seen your ''knowledge'' about music because if you had any, you wouldn't question Jason's technique, musical knowledge or his imagination when it comes to music.

  • @jimmyleppard6

    Talent and imagination aren't objective.

My reasons for not liking it were that it sounds sloppy. The intro sounds awful. There are clearly wrong notes there and it's obvious that he was trying to play something that he couldn't play properly. I'm amazed that you people actually like it.

And I do have knowledge of music. Just because I don't like this guy's music doesn't mean I don't.

  • @ChainsawVsGod on youtube, everybody can be an expert. fact is, you're not. if you don't like this, then just leave. there is nothing wrong with this particular song and/or artist. his skills are beyond what most artists have. noone said you have to like it, but if you really had knowledge of music you'd know that this song is faultless, no matter what your opinion of it is. i'm no expert, just a fan, and this is my view.

  • @ChainsawVsGod you are entitled for an opinion but your can also leave and suck my dick while your at it !

  • @ChainsawVsGod What wrong notes do you mean my brother?

  • @luigibattista10

I can hear sloppy notes in the intro. Sounds quite messy. To be honest I don't really bear this guy any ill will at all. My last few comments were pretty much me trolling that guy which is pathetic I know.

I acknowledge that this guy was a phenomenal guitarist. I just think some parts sounded a bit messy. The sweeps are extravagant but not very clean.

    Thank you for being polite.

  • @ChainsawVsGod Understood. Cheers from Italy.

  • Jason Becker its my inspiration to play guitar.....

  • God, I wish I could sweep pick, its really hard, but Jason has it down pat

  • Comment removed

  • Some of the sweeps do sound pretty sloppy. Still amazing though.

  • @ChainsawVsGod Naw bro, it's clean.

  • @9CRonaldo8Kaka

The intro sweeps are clearly a bit sloppy.

  • @ChainsawVsGod I can't explain it. It's not sloppy it's that kind of a sound. If you know what I mean.

  • @ChainsawVsGod I can agree, but it makes it sound less robotic.

  • 24 weyes piensan que es mejor slahs

  • Instead of donating to prostate cancer research why not donate to ALS research, that's what Jason has...

  • great inspiration to all neo-classical music and all guitar player overall i wish he could play for eternity! XD

  • best guitarist in history and why is jason not in the top 10 of the best guitarist list it shouldnt be a popularity contest it should b based on skill because hendrix was a wanker on guitar compared to this great man

  • @shredmaster100 Best guitarists are normally based on impact, influence, lasting popularity and (sadly has a minor impact on place) skill. Hendrix had a huge impact in his time, he has influenced MANY guitarists (he experimented a lot, opening doors for a lot of guitarists) and his popularity, well...that's implicit. He was very skilled compared to others in his time.

I get your point though. He should always be in the top 20 or 30...but just not higher because his discography is short.

  • yeah because i looked at a recent poll done by a guitar magazine of the worlds best guitarist jason was 92nd or something stupid like that yet jack white who could never play anything by jason in his life is 17th it doesnt make sense to me but i was thinking that if jason hadnt of got ill he would have become much more populer than he was so its just a shame thats all

  • @shredmaster100 I think the reason why these shredders never make it to the top of any pole is their appeal is very limited, and music isn't usually judged by technical abilities such as speed, most people like a song because it does something for them and that's why shredders like this are not very popular or important to music in the whole as they don't have the ability to create music that people can connect with, not just admire for its speed and use of scales.

  • hey man have you even heard of jason becker before he was one of the best and most popular guitarist in the 80,s and even eddie van halen said he was theres a video on youtube with him and van halen in it and if you would rather watch a little justin bieber wannabe on xfactor or american idol then go ahead and all these rappers today are a bunch of pussys they talk about guns and shit but most of them are middle class and have never done drugs or shot anyone in their lives

  • @shredmaster100 Who said anything about X factor or Bieber?, typical shredder fan-boy, if some one doesn't like this boring and usually repetitive audio masturbation, they are lectured in why it's so advanced and progressive. I have heard of Becker and the rest of these Guitar athletes like Vai and Gilbert. They all bore me and 99% of music fans to death. I would much rather listen to Gary Moore or G'N'R than some robotic scale shredding (and horribly artificial sounding) fretboard athlete.

  • typical slash fan you do know hes a middle class poof dont you ive read his book he used to dress as a woman ha ha owned m8 but i cannot say a bad word about gary moore he could shred and play same as rory gallagher and shredders dont all sound the same m8 have you not heard of eric johnson 4 time grammy winner and his tone is impossible to replicate also slash ripped a lot of his licks off jimmy page the riffmaster

  • @shredmaster100 LOL why would Slash's background matter when its his skill that counts? You call him a middle class poof, yet he's the guy who plays straight up rock and these guys are playing neo classical? I'm sure they aren't from very upper middle-class family's that gave them classical piano lessons, at all..LOL Shredders all sound the same, Eric Johnson got grammys in the 80's... nuttin since. Slash ripped off Jimmy Page?..erm more like Jimmy page ripped off every old blues band or player.

  • not saying slash wasnt a good rock guitarist but hes not a metal guitarist like becker or marty friedman i mean marty played in megadeath for 10 years and they were as big a band as guns n roses or metallica and also jimmy page did steal a lot of old blues songs but made them his own and i forgot to mention jimi hendrix who slash learnt a lot from aswell i dont know why eric johnson disapeared after the 80,s i think it was a trend thing because he was very 80,s musically

  • @shredmaster100 Freidman is 100%, best player Megadeth had. Slash is rock but I think it's the overall listenability of the music not just skill that makes a player great. Slash probably lifted the most of his sound off Joe Perry. You're right about Johnson being very 80's and that's something which a lot of these guys have (a very 80's metal sound) they haven't really branched out into other stuff, They could play some pretty nice blues if they had the restraint but they are stuck in metal mode

  • i saw marty friedman on youtube playing with an orchestra but it didnt work too well because martys guitar was set so loud you couldnt hear the orchestra

  • @shredmaster100 LOL That was a spinal tap moment for Marty.

  • yeah it was funny but i think the yngwie malmsteen 1 was the funniest ive seen

  • The studio is his orchestra.

  • I'd rather have 5 cents donated for ALS research. This song alone should teach one that

  • Songasm.

  • @Iihatedanielhesgay stfu about studioforce.

  • Dang, he made dragonforce look like a folding turd, and he was like sixteen when he wrote this song

  • @Iihatedanielhesgay I believe he was nineteen, but nonetheless an amazing player. Herman Li is like 80 or something, God knows how long it took to grow that hair....

  • @detroidxl Herman's 35.

  • A very special man.

  • After 3:32 it really sucks))

  • My Favorite song!

  • HOLY FUCK

  • 5 minutes ago I tough herman li is good but now...

    respect jason becker respect

  • I have listened to rock for about 25 yrs of my life and Jason is my favorite guitarist, but, even if he were to recover from his condition, would he in reality be able to play like he use to???

  • @taoofpete He'd probably need years of rehab just to be able to play the simplest songs. I doubt his muscles would even be strong or developed enough to play much of anything. So rehab and learning how to play again, then it's just up to how much he practices.

  • @taoofpete I don't thinks so but lets hope that he recovers the force metal is stronger than an illness.

  • @taoofpete Well he still has the music in him so he would probably learn it again alot faster :>

  • Awesome !!!! I'll learn it right now !!!

  • fljk ahl;sduifghyqp34utypasidufyvaluidyfvai7sut89;pty3qp974yb p9as7fya98sdfasd....

Oh sorry, just wiping the jizz off my keyboard... :P

  • 23 people didn't like getting their faces melted off.

  • GOD BLESS YOU FRIEND...YOUR GENIUS IS IN OLYMPUS OF MUSIC

  • @ThySword777 great comment mate totally agree

  • i just read his story and cried

  • @MrDudeface23

i know how you feel mate i did excatly the same thing how ever he is so inspirational to so many people and he still makes music truely one of the best muscians who ever lived

  • i know of cacophony and marty-becker but today i start read the becker story, so sad a big talented in a chair, someone can tell me good song or albums of becker

  • @2309davidobando He only has 2 albums, Altitudes and Perspective. 3 if you count his guitarwork on David Lee Roth's album. Perspective is made when Jason already has ALS, it's played by all his friends and labelmates but songs are composed by him, it's really shows how versatile Jason is cause not all songs are shred metal. He released 2 "Jams" albums but those are only for hardcore fans as it doesn't have good song quality and consists of recorded demo and ideas made by him when he was young.

  • @miyavizim Perpetual Burn*

  • @miyavizim hes actually released very many albums, 2 in cacophony i think, DLR, and a ton of solo work they are on his website.

  • Reading his story while listening to this makes me cry

  • JB = ... ? ;)

  • @RicardoGuitar100 and if the one who dislike is a woman?

  • you just gotta love the dark tone the diminished arpeggios convey!

  • If i could have 1 wish, just ONE wish, it would be to have jason becker be able to play again!!

  • @LiV1NL4rg3 owwwww :C

  • @LiV1NL4rg3 i so u love u for that bro thats my one wish 2!

  • @LiV1NL4rg3 sell your soul to the devil.. cmon be our hero

  • @LiV1NL4rg3 my wish is for dave and cliff to be in metallica.

  • @lolMetallicaRS Griffin.....................

I don't with that because i like Trujilo, and Dave is better off as megadeth,

I wish for Anthrax to play heavy metal, hair metal, Thrash Metal then they would be the best in the big 4.

  • @lolMetallicaRS Mine isnt

  • @LiV1NL4rg3 And one again he'll rule again

  • Lord Jason isnt sweeping, hes mopping. His sweeps are just SOOOO clean.

  • Monster!

  • Jason Becker is God!

  • wow what a wicked sound when he sweep picks. i wonder what kind of sound effects is he using

  • @jazz69cat Him self.

  • @jazz69cat doesn't sound like any effects on the lead guitar; just a good, fat, juicy saturated lead tone (that gets that squishy sound when you pick) plus some good old reverb (probably digital from the studio) to fatten up the sound...

  • 22 complete ASSHOLES!

  • yes we knows he's better than what's considered mainstream most people who don't play instruments are fond of less complicated music (which is most people in general), unfortunately. Found out he used hurricane guitars for this (not sold anymore :'( ) carvins were on his second album. Love his sounds either way

  • Let's see Malmsteen cover This!

  • Comment removed

  • only fags talk about pop music on a metal video

  • @supercronsmoker420 *facepalm* implying

  • Justin bieber gets online glory, Jason Becker is reality, biber is to brand as Jason Becker is to pure talent even if he's an obscure musician to blind people

  • And how couldn't I hate Justin Bieber? His so-called songs have millions and millions of views and almost every person knows about him and only some of Jason's songs have more than 10 000 views and almost nobody knows about him. That's very sad. A kid with NO TALENT, NO POTENTIAL and NO MUSICAL SIDE gets the glory and Jason, musical genius, brilliant composer and a person doesn't. And then some 13 year old brats are telling me that people hate Justin Bieber for no reason. JASON BECKER 4 LIFE !!!

  • Truly one of the very best to play guitar, this album is a jem in my eyes.

  • This is like sorcery on the guitar! Words can not explain how inspiring this is.

  • he is just a god!

  • not only blazing speed but beautiful melodies also...jason becker is god.

  • lol i just played the intro to this on accident and realized it was becker

  • @captchaos3000, and @moonmoney1 For the record, neither tone or phrasing is more important that the other. The most important thing in debate is the ability to have what you say be accurately interpreted as what you mean. You can get there however you want. (1st place, Lincoln Douglas, Nationals)

  • @captchaos3000, and @moonmoney1

Who cares. Just listen to the song.

  • excelente tema parce no me canso de escucharlo

  • Im learning this right now!

  • @42littlebit Me to me playing it on my electric guitar!

  • That Moonmoney1 guy obviously is here just to troll. He is making an idiot out of himself here, and you guys are doing the same by writing long arguments against a person that won't read or care about them anyway, therefore wasting your own time more than his. Ignore him. Laugh at him. DO NOT respond to him.

  • 21 idiots don't like Jason Becker because he is not present in Guitar hero . ..

  • @genemusicable And I'm thankful, putting him in guitar hero would simply insult him. Actually i don't think he himself would care, but I would be insulted :p

  • @666Archimonde It's indeed an insult to this song claiming that it would be playable with 5 buttons. Hilarious..

  • @STimmortaI Granted, the sad irony is, I can play this song on guitar, but since I suck at guitar hero, I'd fail at said song if I attempted it on guitar hero.

  • ARPEGGIOS: Interesting thing I've noticed that I thought I'd share: If you look at the vids of Jason doing arpeggios he anchors his pinky to mute, yet at the same time most of his sweep motion is from wrist action. Why point this out? Well here's the contradicting thing most people say about arpeggios: "It's like your playing a chord in slow motion!"or "It's the arm's raking motion"- obviously you don't play chords with a lot of arm it's in the wrist like Jason's arps.

  • 2:34 - 2:40

    :D

  • If Jason had a ten year recording career everyone would have been eating his shit and gladly doing so..

one of the best, at 20. so much potential. imagine if he was 25, 30, 40 and playing. not just a shred maniac but a thoughtful composer and altogether cool, nice guy. he replied personally to my emails, Holdsworth didn't, Vai didn't.

    either way, musical bliss.

The sounds make me feel good/something = All that matters.

  • @SoGladToKnowYou Yeah, I sway back and forth as to anyone is better now. Had he played 10 more years and kept growing musically as fast as he did; I don't see how anyone could have topped him.

  • @SoGladToKnowYou He composed Altitudes when he was 16. Im afraid to think how good would he be if he would still be capable of playing guitar...

  • @michnun You're afraid to think? I'm sad that it can't happen.

  • @SpicyDragoon Kinda what I ment :)

  • @SoGladToKnowYou I already would have even if he didn't :)

  • @SoGladToKnowYou he helped me with a college report in his honor... that was one of the greatest moments in my life

  • @SoGladToKnowYou yeah it's really a shame, I would kill to see his playing now or Shawn Lane's.

  • @SoGladToKnowYou It's just like how Mozart died young at 35, all the epitomizing musical geniuses have a traumatic event in their career/life, and it's such a shame.

  • 20 personas nunca sabran lo que es musica deverdad, nunca sabran lo que es un musico de verdad y lo que es saber transmitir sentimientos desde la mente al instrumento y de ahi hacia la gente.

20 people will never know what real music is .. They'll never know what's a real musician and don't know how to transmit feelings from the mind to the instrument and from there to the people

  • @PIORIMAN To be fair, this is fairly simplistic in a compositional sense, it's just really fast. Not saying he has no emotion, not saying he's a bad guitarist. Just saying the complexity of this piece of music is not great.

To clarify *again*. Complexity =/= Difficulty. This is difficult, but not musically complex. Don't proclaim it to be.

  • @Captchaos3000 say wherever you want, but when you can make a little piece better than becker's music i will give you the right

    before that, shut up

  • @PIORIMAN It's not really relevant whether I can make a better piece, just like it isn't relevant whether a music critic can make a better piece than the one he's critiquing.

  • jason>paul+yngwie+rhoads and every other guitarist combine.

  • damn! this song is so perfect i just can't stop listening at it. technically he is very good especially on sweeping altough i'm not a real fan of pure shredding. what turns me on with this song is the feeling he puts in his playing. It's so sad he can't play anymore, he has to be one of the best if not the best guitarist ever.

  • the beginning of this song is out of this world! god what a player

  • i am burned by this music perpetually!!!! this piece is awesome! If i can only trade the bodies of justin bieber, gil, and other boy bands, just to make Jason back again in the music scene i will... :-x

  • just dont talk to moonmoney she is just a troll who wants attention dont feed it to her

  • Ignore MoonMoney!!!!

He/She is a troll, and you defeat trolls by ignoring them!

  • 20 ppl has ear disiease

  • Because of this picture, I don't feel weird when I kiss my guitar. :)

  • He's simply the most complete guitar player in the world. We love you Jason. I really wish someday you can play guitar again.

  • comon doctors find the cure for als already so that he can make more awesome music

  • @llopezfamily He still is, just not playing it. :)

  • @n00bt00bpr0ducti0ns your right lol but i still wish he could touch his guitar and play it

  • If you guys don't like moondummy ugly, funny, but unoriginal so much why doesn't the video uploaded just have the person who uploaded this block her and her comments.
