  • @ vampyr616 I'm gonna have to check that out, thanks!

  • @ Vampyr616 I have to check that out , thanks!

  • Does anyone know where I can find this on DVD/Blu-ray? Haven't seen it in stores and eBay's got nothing.

  • @BenGriffithsReviews it's on Amazin, but in limited quantities....its a rare film to actually own. Fantastic film though.

  • @MrSkinnynerd03 I'll check it out but Amazon can't always ship to me (Australia). Thanks for replying.

  • @BenGriffithsReviews oh well that sucks. i live in Canada, and for a brand new DVD of following (only 4 in stock) its $40, i mean a movie released in 1999 in DVD format is usually $5-$10. $40 is crazy, even still considering Chris Nolan's popularity currently.

It's also on Netflix, not sure if Australia has it though, or if anther digital service is available. You can pirate, but i am not a fan of pirating movies...but yea good luck.

  • @MrSkinnynerd03 I'll still see if Amazon can ship it to me, I need it to complete my Nolan collection. Even to get Memento and Insomnia I had to go the eBay route, no stores had them. We are getting Netflix in Australia this year I believe. I'm not a fan of piratng either.

  • @BenGriffithsReviews *Amazon! woops.

  • I am getting really curious about what this guy 'chloekott' said.. but his name is not there in the comments..

  • did anyone notice the Batman logo on the apartment door?? it was fate!!

  • @MovieWare80 When?

  • @MovieWare80 oh man, the first time i saw the film, and i saw that Batman logo, i was tripping out soo much.

i just thought to my self, 1998 he made Following, ad he goes onto reboot batman....it is written!

  • @MovieWare80 there is also a batman logo in the tattoo shop window in memento...

  • Christopher Nolan is a genius, I remember when i first saw this film, my jaw dropped at the end, the end pushed it from a 9.0 to a perfect score for me. Following is a masterpiece, very close to his best movie, which is my favorite movie of all time, Memento. I cannot wait for The Dark Knight Rises.

  • Does anyone know whether the Netflix streaming version or any of the DVDs coming out (of the Following) have been redone? I am curious as to whether Nolan left the film the way it was originally shot and the production companies haven't changed the quality since he's become more popular.

  • you can see this movie and a lot more on a latin website called CUEVANA , and im not doing spam , im serious man , the page have it all

  • i need a review

  • How did Nolan sell out after Insomnia? Please explain!!!

  • I just brought this movie!

Nolan is simply a genius, he is without a doubt the greatest film maker of this generation.

To think, he went from making this movie with basically no budget, to making one of the most expensive movies ever, Dark Knight Rises.

    I cannot wait

  • Is it a coincidence that one of the main characters here is named Cobb, the same name of the protagonist in 'Inception'? :)

  • 6000 USD!

That's the cheapest theatrical movie ever made!

  • Following, Memento and Insomnia are great, but after these he sold himself...

  • @claudiavantacich AND Prestige, after that he hold himself...

  • @claudiavantacich

Batman Begins and Prestige are also Grate Films. But then he becomes a blockbuster regisseur. His blockbuster movies were good, but not as good as his fist ones. I hope Nolan goes back to his roots. I hope for his overnext Movie (after Dark Knight Rising). But there are an other idea... He should realy create a Bond film :-)

  • @chloekott Why is that relevant? And why Inception? Congratulations, you're awesome.

  • @chloekott Don't be a whore.

  • Fantastic film!!! thank God for Netflix!

  • @chloekott stop being a hipster please.

  • I had this on VHS until I found a dvdrip I liked. It's a spectacular film. I love it.

  • amazing piece of art just out of the world

watch another concept which is out of the world

youtube search- vanish a real science fiction

  • It only took 15000 dollars to make an awesome movie

  • @geloliverpool94 its only 6000 usd only and took one year

  • fuck what a good movie

  • I liked this one better then memento

  • this was not his first movie

  • @iPodGameNerddottube Its his first feature length movie

  • @chloekott Whoopti fuckin doo

  • I love the prestige, inception and memento

    but i found insomnia boring

Would I like this movie, any ideas?

  • @culturekate

I also loved the prestige, and inception. might i suggest "Primer". [2004] . watch it, and thank me later...:-)

  • @culturekate The same with me, i really enjoyed The Following.

  • really wanna see this! Momento and the Prestige are two of my all time favourite movies, and although i dont love the latest ones as much i still think theyre great, espeically inception

  • @shadycharacter220 you just blew my mind :)

  • This movie wasn't as good as Memento, but it's still worth watching.

  • I shot my feature in a smiliar way - over the space of a year with very little cast and crew - although I shot on HDV

  • This movie's atmosphere reminds me so much of Eraserhead

  • @chloekott I actually saw Following before Batman Begins and Memento. One of my friends had the Sundance Channel and suggested this movie after I saw Insomnia. Following is still outstanding :)

  • I hate Christopher Nolan and his films (apart from Memento), but this, Following, actually looks pretty good.

  • Nolan thank you ma8.a young man grom Greece.

  • Wow, even here u can see the genious within nolans mind that would bring us some of the best films of the decade.

  • u know what crazy this his 1st film n itz black n white n chris nolan is colored blind

  • if this is Nolan's first film, why did it start with "From the director of MEMENTO"?

  • @EvilAshPursuivant It was a rerelease

  • Fantastic, I work in that bar, Detroit is awesome!

  • @chloekott fuck you hipster. what do you think that proves? big deal you saw someone's movie before he got famous. have a fucking medal, dicksnap.

  • You can buy this on Play.com for just £3

  • Christopher Nolan >>>>>>>>>>> Micheal Bay

  • This is definitely Christopher Nolan best film. I hope Nolan stops doing big Hollywood movies and goes back to making Art House films.

We need more gritty and underground Independent films like this.

  • @TheOwlCreek dude, u nailed with that comment... haven't u realized that since batman begins, Nolan hasn't done a R rated movie??? memento was the best original movie (TDK like it more but is not his creation) I've ever seen and it was R rated, so it was insomia and following... nowadays, he seems to care more about budget... please Nolan, u r great, but u can be better!!!

  • @TheOwlCreek so amelie too mainstream for you?have you at least saw y tu mama tambien or 9 songs?underground(wich to me equal bad student atemts)are everywere asshole and this movie looks alot like all does student bullshit...i just want to see your reply to laugh at you...

  • @fannboygh don't be so butthurt faggot!

  • @TheOwlCreek hahaha you have not seen the films i mention hahahaha and you think you are a art house guy....you are a fucking poser that havnt seen enter the void or hable con ella or at least el mariachi.....you know GOOD art house movies but guess thats just too mainstream for you, pretentious poser faggot hahahaha

  • @fannboygh That's what butthurt haters actually believe. CRY MORE!

  • @TheOwlCreek O MY GOD!!!HAHAHAHAHAHA

  • @fannboygh FAG!!!

  • such a short, yet beautiful film

now, i've finally watched all of nolan's films! memento, insomnia, prestige, batman begins, dark knight, inception, and finally the following

damn, all movies perfect! how does this man create such flawless films???

  • @atomichead777

don't forget "Doodlebug", a 3 minute short film by him

just search it up on youtube and you'll find it

  • @iiAFX "Doodlebug" is basically Nolan doing what I thought was the impossible: mindfucking his audience in 3 minutes flat.

  • @chloekott wtf does that have to do with anything

  • I just streamed this from Netflix. Might be Nolan's best film. Talk about doing a lot with a little. This movie just proves that story is everything.

  • tcm

  • I was confused by so many people asking where they could find this. I didn't realize that new copies are not currently readily available. They should be, considering the popularity of Nolan at this point.

Fortunately, it is currently available on Netflix for both DVD rental and Streaming.

I'm really glad so many people have seen this trailer and have responded well. It's a really great film, and I hope that it can be found by the people looking for it.

  • @danfury I wouldn't be surprised if in the coming years, they decided to release this movie on some kick ass dvd/blu-ray. This is the only one of Nolan's films that I don't own and haven't seen.

  • @danfury Well, i´m glad you uploaded it, I've always enjoyed Nolan's movies, but this one, I've never heard before.

  • Someone please tell me where I can get this movie? Im dying to watch it .

  • @Aslam2424 It's on YT already search 'The Following Part 1' you should find it.

  • @Aslam2424 opps I meant to write search 'Following part 1'

  • This is one of my favourite movies at the moment

  • I'm watching the movie right now, and 23 minutes in you can see the Batman symbol on the door. How cool is that ?

  • @nickcarterroxs Im watching it now and iv just got to that bit, nice find! and the dude being called Cobb lol

  • Love Nolan, but Aronofsky is just as original. Requiem for a dream and Black Swan are fantastic

  • i just love Nolan Movies to fucked up my mind! xD

he is the only one, I allowed to do it! :P

  • The only one who dislike this may be Micheal Bay

  • @BloodyEddy09 Probably cause it didn't "explode" box office records

  • actually is my favorite nolan film and have been a fan for years. Its amazing to see his early work and see how he's grown and adapted his indie short films, keeping the same heart and passion into his features. this man does it out of pure love and is not a money-grubbing squanderer.

  • @chloekott thumbs up if following is the only nolan movie you EVER saw, which makes you an even cooler person than chloekott is trying to be.

  • i just started watching this movie.... and "toasted cheese sandwich"? my mom used to call them that.... I always called them that until I realized that every civilized person called it a "grilled cheese sandwich" i think ill revert to the old ways....

  • @chloekott who cares

  • @chloekott oh so you're a real fan.....

  • anyone know where i can watch this?

    lookin for some inspiration

  • @DrZen007 Netflix

  • amazing!!

  • The only film of Nolan's that I have not seen. Anybody know where I could find a DVD of it?

  • @40Pacino. netflix

  • When the shit is this getting release on blu ray?????

  • great movie. nice to see how memento, and of course his other masterpieces after that one, were inspired.

  • dont you wonder if you was ever followed?

  • This movie weirds me out so much because I've gone and following random people before... seems like this always happens with Christopher Nolan's movies and me.

  • @Kirpikong It is OK to follow random people, but be careful not to get to such troubles.

By the way, try not to destroy fotographs and dont ever visit the limbo.

  • @uliqed fotographs?

  • @300daysandnights I am sorry for my english, but yes - polaroid photographs (from "Memento" ).

  • Goodness, i love Mr. Nolan.

  • Cobb is in this Insomnia and in Inception!

  • @FORD5000solo2001 not even a phone? that is such rare quality. gotta love nolan more. thank you fyi =P

  • just wondering. does nolan got twitter?

  • @hakts Nolan doesn't have twitter, or an e-mail for that matter. Or even a cell phone! He says he has more time to think without them :D (isn't he great?)

  • I like how the thief character in this film is named Cobb, same as the main character in "Insomnia" (who also happens to be a thief of a sort).

Cool little reference there by Nolan.

  • @TheSilhouette Isn't the character in Insomnia called Dobbs? Also, you forgot Dom Cobb from Inception. :D

  • @SilverBlade784

Whoops. You're right. I meant "Inception."

  • @SilverBlade784 i herad in his next film the main character will be called Bobbs

  • I love this movie. I don't care whether a film has CGI or not. All I want is a good original story and "Following" is one of those films that delivered. I believe Nolan, his crew, and staff, take the craft of film-making VERY seriously.

  • one word....inception

  • i like the guy who plays cobb..good acting by him..

  • the movie made less money then the number of views in this video lawl

  • @Herimia that doesn't mean that the movie wasn't good..

  • a random guy in the crowd looks directly at the camera right before it cuts to black...way to ruin it

  • Nolan is a perfectionist

  • That seals it! Nolan is now my new favorite director! (Sorry Steven) This movie was AWESOME!

  • @filmgirlLisa Yeah cause Indiana jones, ET, Jaws, Twilight zone, close encounters, Jaws and all the pioneering he did for movies is little compared to Nolan.........Dumbass

  • @azrial4421 Dumbass? Because his style of storytelling speaks to me more? Never said he was superior to Speilberg, just that he's my new favorite. Perhaps if you got your head outta your ass you would see the difference...tool.

  • Looks pretty cool!

  • I can never get tired of watching Following (Theatrical Trailer) You can see it in here: FRE/EMOV/IETHE/ATERdotIN/FO

  • @TimRichhard lololololol

  • I just watched inception and if i ever see Nolan, i will go down on my knees and kiss his feet.

  • @themightyjoseph u need to watch all his movie! Momento was the best! actually all of his movies!

  • Comment removed

  • @sdb66 your sooooo dumb it astounds me. all the good movies are commercialized, you just want to be different. on average, Hollywood films are better than indie. yes there are a few good indies, but there are waaaay more good Hollywood films. to say otherwise would be nothing short of silly.

  • I saw this trailer years ago...only now do I find out it's a Chris Nolan film! Gotta watch this.

  • @kensai123 You should, man! :D I saw it a couple of days ago and thought it was just amazing for his first film. It's only an hour and eleven minutes but it's very good. Eerie, deranged, masterfully displayed and is quite ingeniusly acted.

  • This was Nolan's first film and its the same mind at work that made Inception all these years later. Man's a genius.

  • I need to see this, apart from Inception this is the only Nolan film I haven't seen. I didn't even know he directed Memento and Insomnia.

  • @MarkArandjus so youve seen Larceny and Tarantella?

  • @lordsahasrala88 Nope, I was refering to the theatrical films =)

  • @MarkArandjus ah, i see.

  • @lordsahasrala88 Ive been looking for those films everywhere, do you know where I can buy or watch them?

  • @screenjunky no idea, ive been on the same search for quite a while with no luck. since theyre considered so rare, you probably have to know a guy who knows a guy.

  • @screenjunky you can download them from torrent sites....

  • just saw it... this guy makes histories work in such a cinematic wonderful way

  • Michael Bay cant even direct a good movie with a 230 million dollars budget where as Christopher Nolan directed a good movie with just 6 thousand pounds.

  • @themightyjoseph What I love about Nolan is that he doesn't seem to consider how much the movie will cost when he writes his movies. He has made outstanding movies with no budget (Memento, Following) and has made outstanding movies with a huge budget (Dark Knight, Inception). As long as he is making the best possible movie that he can, that is what matters to him.

  • Cobb is my hero......the stuff he does can be so addicting...

  • where i can find this movie?

  • @danio344 Are you looking to download it, or buy it? I imagine you can get it from Amazon.com and/or other online DVD stores - and I know where to get it from online in DVD size/resolution(ntsc I believe). Message me if you wish to get directions...

  • @cinesimonj thanks :] I already watch movie and it's awsome :]

  • In Nolan We Trust

    :)

  • I just watched this and I really liked the beginning. The rest was a contrived caper. Nolan is obviously a talented and smart filmmaker, but I was hoping for something less fanciful and more surprisingly believable. The role of smart and dark filmmaker is quite populated. I want to applaud someone who doesn't lean on "dark" or "shock" in order bolster their respectable intelligence. Still, Inception should be worth the ticket price.

  • Great film. Very kinetic and imaginative way of telling a story---backwards, forwards, then backwards again to play with our minds. Director Christopher Nolan has certainly come a long way. This movie, "Memento", "Insomnia", "The Dark Knight" and now, "Inception" (check out THAT trailer while you're at it).

  • Absolutely love this movie. Great work by Nolan. This and Memento are easily his best films. CANNNOT wait for Inception!

  • This great peice of art is on google video for those intrested I'm going to buy it to support Chris Nolan though.

  • A spectacular film, great dialogue, characters and story all centered on a brilliant idea that triggers that notion called "I never saw the world that way" thinking.

People, this is a perfect sample of making a movie with almost no budget.

  • much better than the shit they make these days

  • I guess i'm lucky. I got this and 5 other dvds for 10 bucks. My hollywood video is closing down.

It was good, glad i bought it. Never seen it before or read anything about it, just picked it up because Nolan made it.

  • @harrybarry Me too. I just bought FOLLOWING with little to no knowledge of the film just for the credibility of Nolan. And now that I've seen, I'm astounded. I'll look at those tiny independent films again after this.

A spectacular film, great dialogue, characters and story all centered on a brilliant "I saw the world that way" thinking.

People, this is a perfect sample of making a movie with almost no budget.

  • I love this.. I've loved everything Nolan has written and directed. Since Doodlebug =)

  • is this movie in black and white?

  • @mayaloveslamp

    yes it is.

  • @4jonah gracias

  • I've been looking for this movie. Biggest Nolan fan! Still have not found this one.

  • i found mine at game xchange

  • @Feliscar

its on netflix and i own a copy of the dvd. its around.

  • actually, the blockbuster store in columbia south carolina carries this.

  • i read he shot it on weekends for 9 months, i wonder if its at my video store?

  • I doubt it. You'll probably have to rent it from Netflix or buy it. It's not something a video store would have since its so unknown apart from the people who love Nolan films.

  • what camera did he use for his short films?
