If you paid attention, this Parallel Work makes no sense storywise. Kittan didn't get King Kittan untill after he stole the idea from Kamina, but this Parallel Work takes place before the Black Siblings were introduced.

Also, who else thought Kittan was Viral in the beginning? Lawls.

True, but the "Parallel Works" series is about just that: a look into the infinite universes all playing out vaguely similar stories. Pretty much all of them take place in varying alternate-TTGL continuities. This could be one of them, in which case the Black siblings might well join up with Kamina having already scored a mech.

Therefore it would make NO SENSE to localise it as Mike. And even a short o would be stretching it. "Maiku", yes, that would be close enough to "Mike" to be localised as that. But the point is that there is a LONG vowel sound at the end, not a short one, so it's clearly meant to be a two-syllable word when read in English.
