1st time balancing took me 2 hour+(had to watch video as well)
After I got use to it .. 15min.
Merlin is only good for moving shots...and you have to hold it out away from you. It's not easy to hold up for long periods of time and definitely not as stable as a tripod.(especially on non wide angle lens)
I use Premiere Pro CS4 and my D5000 clips don't work. Is that what you use?

what do you think of the merlin and how easy/hard is it to set up????

Not the easiest thing to get blanced..
But as you can see once done it makes the video nice and smooth using wide angle lens.
I still need lots of practice.. for turning smoothly etc.
There are drawbacks.. like on windy days etc.. its tough to keep leveled.

how long would u say it took you when u first tried to set it up and how long does it take you now that you have more experience with it???
