OMG...WHY THE FUCK AM I SOOO OLD! ? I SWEAR I WAS JUST BORN YESTERDAY...I WAS 6 YEARS OLD IN 1988 AND I'M ALMOST 30 NEXT YEAR! FUCK! I DIDN'T KNOW 1982 WAS SOO LONG AGO!
miss fruity pebbles....I have alot of VHS tapes and have a lot of stupid-cool retro things to put up...how do you guys do it? I have like7 VHS tapes worth. Including salier moon, barbies, etc..
@antnee1980, The cereal like you mentioned. Also, how toy companies created tv shows that promoted their products (ex: Gobots, Gem, Thundercats, He-Man......).
Another classic. Do they still make count chochula and the others? I wish kids today could experience the toys and commercials we did back then. Then they really would be seeing something better.
@steelangelriver Yes, Count Chocula is usually available around Halloween, same goes with Franken Berry, not so sure about Boo Berry, but yeah, I know for a fact that they sell Count Chocula around my area during the Halloween season.
@steelangelriver My pleasure, you can also order the stuff year-round on Amazon, no joke. Figured I'd do my best to connect a fellow Count Chocula fan with their favorite cereal. :)
i have almost all of the old 80/90s cartoons thats on dvd but i realize now that the commercial played a major part also why else would i be watching this
I remember this commercial from a break during Pee-wee's Playhouse! I know, 'cause I had that show recorded on tape for a long time, and we didn't bother with the rigmarole of skipping the commercials, so we just had those in, and this was one of them.
I also think that this may have been one of the last times that Mel Blanc voiced Barney here.
it's odd but it really isn't about the shows we miss but more about how we felt back then, thundercats, robotech, he man, they're all on dvd but the feeling of watching them when we were kids is gone.
wow super wrlh 35 the bravestarr promo wow i miss the 80s 35 was the home of thundercats, transformers, robotech, transzor z, he-man back down memory lane.
As if all these ol skool commercials from my childhood weren't good enough, I smiled even more when I saw the familiar WRLH logo from my hometown pop up on my screen. I'm guessing this is before Fox picked them up?
All of these clips on YOUTUBE remind me of growing up in the eighties when you actually got up just to watch cartoons and thats how u started ur day..then you would be at the grocery store trying to get ur mom to buy u one of the many cereals that came out weekly...then trying to get her to buy u a action figure lol ha ha
@MrSlik25 MEEEEEEEEE TOOO. i WAS 6 YEARS OLD IN 1988 omg....,nosey bears. lol. I remember all things i used to ask for like bubbles they would sell...don't know if your from canada we used to have a store called bi way and i would pick up bubbles to blow....and i even had skip it! OMG>
If that faggity bee messed up my castle after I told him to leave me alone, I'd rip his wings off...then crush him with a box of fruity pebbles for the irony.
Oh my god... I forgot all about nosy bears until i just watched this. I was actually able to sing along to the them song... I remember laughing my ass off at the girl singing..."they have a nose for fun, hey have a nose for funnnnn"...ha ha ha ha ..Nothing like the 80's...Im 32 years old and still miss that time in my life. My twin bro does too..he actually remembers nosy bears too lol
I still eat Fruity Pebbles but I've not been eating a lot of US chocolate-flavored goods lately because the "chocolate" taste is acidic and inferior. I miss real chocolate Hershey's and M&M/Mars candy, it's all mockolate now.
it was on abc but your also right example pokemon was on kidsWB in houston but in other cities it was on fox and in houston pokemon was never on fox down here.
You're right too burby8100. Because I recall seeing an episode of DARKWING DUCK on ABC one Saturday morning during the 1991-92 season, but it was also on weekday afternoons on WPIX Channel 11 New York during the same season. What date in 1988 did you record this commercial?
Wow I can feel myself being brainwashed all over again...feeling like I have to get all the sugary cereals (especially the the ones with the toy inside) and feeling like I have to have the latest toy. Thank god video games didn't have the same kind of grip back then that they do today, kids are like zombies. But nonetheless this does bring back fond memories!
Wow watching this is like taking a trip back in time. It brings back a lot of good feelings and memories from my childhood. Thanks for the look back at the days when the summers lasted forever.
Nosy bears. Pillow People, Popples...I guess everyone's creative and active imagination must've gotten spent after the 80s. I feel sorry for the kids that had to grow up after around 1992.
Well, it sort of does make sense. It's at least easy to rewatch episodes since the entire first season and Bubba/Gizmoduck pilots are on DVD, but the bumpers are pretty dang hard to find! They haven't been used since.... Ducktales' brief time on the WB I believe.
I have some old bumpers that I dumped from old tapes recorded around 1990. Most are not "complete" bumpers but I think I have most shots of all the different postcards used on the bumpers. Gonna try to post them soon. Makes me feel kinda sad or wistful to see those too...I love Ducktales! :)
I heart 80s commercials! Micro Machine guy was on I Love the 80's. He's great! I wish they put the Ducktales bumpers on the DVDs. "Pow Pow Power Wheels" CLASSIC!
