This is when Ron from the Necros played bass (super great guy and musician) and when Todd Swalla (Necros also) played drums (fucking asshole junkie who tried and failed miserbly to fill the giant shoes left by Jim Kimble) Prime Hyenas: Can't pray a lie & Life of crime. Nuff said.
I just found out about Larissa last night. Major bummer. I really loved this band and have always had a soft spot for them and I can't explain why. The howl, fury and sadness they conveyed was unbeatable. I saw them at CBGB in '89 and got a bit scared in a good way. They were not fucking around and the energy was explosive. The drummer was playing so hard and tasty I will never forget like a beautiful nightmare. I saw them again with the 2nd line up a few times in NYC but was not as impressed.
Still remember seeing them at the Troubador in Hollywood on this tour. Great show. My favorite song. LA Weekly writer gave them a bad review. What an idiot.

Thanks for putting this up. A lot of people didn't like the Necros era of the Hyenas, but a lot of people are stupid! Larissa was such a great guitarist.

I remember seeing this band years ago in Berlin.
The girl guitarist looked like an old sailor with a fag hanging from her mouth. Their sound blew me away.
