LaughOutLoud at people that really spent their time hating on a sodastream review. Great review, it covered all the points that I needed to hear. My concern was replacing the CO2 cartridges since they have a proprietary design. Just found out that 5 local stores carry the replacements, so it's not that big a deal. Are any of the flavors "off"?

Bought the Genesis model with Cola, Root Beer, Grape and Sierra Mist syrups... and will be returning it to B, B, & B tomorrow, major problem is that the cap full that you recommend still comes out to be very bitter in my 1 liter bottle, after I add another cap full it finally starts to resemble some kind of Cola, not saying that this product won't be great for somebody but it's not for me, how Sodastream says that 1 cap full is recommended I don't understand, tried all flavors and all bitter

I had a Soda Stream machine 25 years ago, and what I liked about it was how I could control the amount of carbonation and syrup that went into my drink. I am glad to see they are back and will be looking into getting a new one.

Dunno what my version is, the cyl goes in the back compartment and the water bottle on the front so that makes mine a quite deep machine to have standing on my counter top! Phew, but the 'manual' is awful. Had to look up fitting the co2 cyl up online. Got there eventually, thankfully. Then found your film which finished things off nicely. Time for me to play, now:)

Just remember: unless you go out of your way to use Brita filtered water to make the soda, your tap water will have minerals and condense at the bottom of your bottle overtime. The soda will have a nasty taste by then.
