yes. Some choose to take it out. It takes longer. There are videos on here on how they do that. Others (myself) just cut them off.

That is just how I chose to start my locks. And I don't regret it. I love them.

Your locs look so nice. Is it diffiucult to get loc extensions? should your hair be a certain way first? is the upkeep time consuming?

Thank you, and no it is not difficult to get loc extensions. Although my hair was natural before I did them, some folks have permed hair while getting them. If you are capable of using the latch hook yourself, it is easy to keep up. Otherwise, you may need to visit a loctician.

Small holes at the roots? I usually just use two directions. From the top to bottom and from the right to left. As long as you don't go in the same direction, you should be ok

Ok so I had another question. I started latching my hair (which is 6 inches long and only locked for 1 month) and I went through a different hole every time like I was told to do, but I still have small holes at the roots. Is this normal, or is there a way to prevent it?

I usually do it dry. I have done it while it was damp. I don't think it makes a difference.

Thank you. i use a latch hook to tighten my locks. I do it twice a month.

Have you ever tried twisting...if so which do you think is more effective for locs roughly your size. I think once mine are mature they will be the same size but for now I don't know whether to latch or twist. I've only latched so far.

I have only used the latch hook myself. I don't think I want to try the other method. That is just my preference, however. I do not think it makes a difference for this size. The look of the lock will be different though.

Thanks. The high bun was done by my hair dresser. The bumped in the ponytail was done by tying several locks from each side of my head together and then flipping the front locks over the knot.

Thank you. I haven't really used any products specifically for locs. I use pantene conditioning shampoo, and Carrot oil. I dont put too much product in my hair.
