I like the sound WHILE turning the knobs, shows the full range of the sweep if i am using those terms right .is there a way to mod it to have an exp pedal or additional control do this?
how does this compare to the new stereo version? I just picked up a stereo one, it sounds great to my ears. your honest opinion would be appreciated :)
Awesome demo! I've been trying to get Trower's early tones using all kinds of Vive pedals and then I read he used 2 of these and your demo convinced me that's exactly what he used. Only thing is, he seems to get kind of an octave overtone. so not sure if he ran a fuzz-octavia into it at the same time or what. Thanks!
I dont really think you need a led as you can hear when it is on
blondegraemey I really enjoy your vids and you have a lot of really nice gear. Keep up the vids. Have you tried the Foxrox paradox? I love it my favorite flanger. It is thur zero though and not really the same as the mistress. Both are cool I am just use though zero more.
chorus came from the leslie speaker on a slow speed and later the uni-vibe pedal.... yes you can get a very close sound from a flanger as well but flanging is based on a old reel to reel tape going chewy..it was john lennon who gave it the name flanging...
Andy Summers did us the EH flanger in the early days of the police..he also used the CE-1 and if you check out the live DVD from the late 80's in new york you can clearly see a boss CE-2 on his pete cornish pedalboard
I just watched a couple of your other videos and saw your AMAZING pedal collection!
Which brings me to my question, what's the main difference between the Deluxe Electric Mistress and the Non-Deluxe Electric Mistress? I don't think you'll do a video comparing them, but here's hoping!
dosent this only come with the plug and no battery option? i have one of these and its pretty old i dont know if its the same model but mine only has the plug option..
I absolutely love the sound of the three pedals put together at the end of the video. That is a great sound, like a million bucks,or pounds!! thanks for the demo!!
2:03 do my ears deceive me or is that Message in a Bottle?

Hi Louis, I have never tried the new version. It is digital so will sound different to this. If you think it sound good then it is good! G
blondegraemey 1 year ago 2
@louisalive I replaced my stereo version with an original deluxe electric mistress. I think they sound different, and I much prefer the original.

hey Graemey what's the difference between the vintage and the deluxe version?
davidtheguitarman 1 year ago
Some circuit tweaks to improve on the vol drop problem etc. Both sound excellent in my opinion. G
blondegraemey 1 year ago
I found a vintage one for like 70 bucks, should I be upset cuz I didn't buy it or is that the normal price? lol

uno dei migliori, se non il miglior, flanger che ho mai avuto. Suono caldo niente a che fare con le "solite" scatolette colorate.....

Im bidding for one of these on ebay, hoping i get it. Your really good at guitar, have you taken tons of lessons, or are you just really really good?
ledzeppelin174 2 years ago
Good luck with the auction! Ive not had many lessons, just try to play when I get the chance. G
blondegraemey 2 years ago
These pedals are perfect for flange sound. Only problems: big pedal, and no LED
ilovemyfender1 2 years ago
I have an electric mistress but it has green lettering instead of black and it has a big muff style casing
I think you might have a couple am I right
exodia333 2 years ago
Yes, they are battery versions. G
blondegraemey 2 years ago
can you get the Polychorus feedback noise out of these?
violentaddiction123 2 years ago
No but you can get a sort of ring mod sound with everything up full. G
blondegraemey 2 years ago
Whats the song at the beginning?
Good demo, I'm going to go out and get one of these.
Cheers.

It's my old band called Candleman Summer. The song is called Brilliant. G
blondegraemey 2 years ago
Just learned 2 new things. 1. Message in a Bottle is flange not chorus. 2. The old Electric Mistress didn't have chorus.
Thanks
davidarlette 2 years ago
Dude message in a bottle is totally chorus
FFXGuitar 2 years ago
You can make a flanger give a chorus sound at certain settings. IMO a flanger has a better chorus sound than a chorus pedal! Kinda weird, but yeah...
Ilovemyfender2 2 years ago 2
Pretty interesting, but I kinda agree with you. Almost as if the flanger's "chorus" settings were the basis for the later chorus effect.
FFXGuitar 2 years ago
No, Andy Summers used the Electric Mistress for that tone. It's a common misconception that he was using chorus for that sound.
metalcore929 2 years ago
Yep, he used a Mistress for Message in a bottle without a doubt! G
blondegraemey 2 years ago
mmm ya think the reissue one may be... Cheap...( no so good quality as the one of the early 80`s) ???
please...
topicrass 2 years ago
The new one is better build quality but not as good sounding. G
blondegraemey 2 years ago
they should totally correct the volume drop issue...
topicrass 2 years ago
I never noticed a volume drop...
Ilovemyfender2 2 years ago
The new Reissue verison obvouly has one.. and is just a SHIT!!
you can have howard Davis modifiy yours, he is the designer of th electric Mistress, he worked in EHX

My uncle has one from the early 80s I plan on borrowing. It has the green face on it.

awesome video i wanted to hear the electric mistress with the big muff, what do you think about the new electric mistress deluxe??
mathiaslz4 2 years ago
Hi, I've never tried a new one. Have you got one? G
blondegraemey 2 years ago
no, i was thinking about buying one, i have to try it but if the new one sounds like this one i'll buy it inmediatly
mathiaslz4 2 years ago
I got my deluxe in the fall of '08. And I can't seem to get that vintage sound. It's almost like they tweaked it. Very sensitive on the dials.
jkmac407 2 years ago
damn i was about to buy one
mathiaslz4 2 years ago
How can you tell if its an original ? this guy is selling one localy and it does have the same knobs as my old clone theory and no LED ...
JayOrphan 2 years ago
Easy way to quickly identify an old one: it has a fixed power cord and not a DC adapter that plugs in.
blondegraemey 2 years ago
could you demo a polychorus?
amarr1 2 years ago
Check out my demo of the Echo Flanger. It's the same pedal with a different name. G
blondegraemey 2 years ago
another great demo Graemey, you're videos are awesome. cheers
petejt 3 years ago
I love this pedal. I think mine is an old one, the surface is a bit scratched. The chorusey flanging is WONDERFUL. So warm & syrupy.
I find that the effect sounds thicker when only using the flanged output.
petejt 3 years ago
hi, thanks for all your precous reviews!have you ever try the new stereo electric mistress? can you get the same sound out of it?
francodigrayskull 3 years ago
The new Stereo EM does not really sound like this vintage one. There are some demos of it on Youtube. G

that thing sounds awesome. i'm trying to decide between this and the mxr flanger.

go with the electric mistress. it sounds much better and is a lot simpler to use. it's hard to get a bad sound out of the mistress.

I'd love to own one of these and use it in the loop of my Roland Jazz Chorus 120. I reckon it'd be cool to mix Roland/Boss & ElectroHarmonix
