I found it funny that they would critized for the very thing they would praise Dartmouth Aires for, theatrics. It is so obvious that NBC's politics played into the decision of Vocal Point getting the boat. Keep your heads up boys and capitalize on you popularity, America loved ya!

@dancegenuis101 the producers have to attract viewers, so a homogeneous (non-diverse) group doesn't appeal as much to the masses. not so much a matter of racial prejudice as it is a matter of marketing demographics, but I agree with you for the latter reason.
@dancegenuis101 I can;t believe Urban Method is still in the comp....i was rootin for vocal point to go all the way too and def shocked when they got kicked off on their first time EVER in the bottom two. Even Afro-Blue was shocked when they went home..That being said I def think traveling back and forth between school and the comp was def put into consideration.
My appreciation for this show went down a ton too. They definitely struggled with their second song last night, but the were by far not the worst group to be left performing in the competition. The funny thing is they will probably sell more CDs than half of the groups left. :)

I'm just bored of them. They're almost TOO wholesome. I just want to see them do something with a bit of edge or sex appeal. I hope they get to the finale show because I'm hoping the judges' choice will be something with a bit more edge to it. I think it would be a fun risk for them.

Holy sh*t Ross' range is NUTS! I knew the note at 2:58 was high but I didn't realize it was the G# ABOVE HIGH C?! (checked on my piano lol). Most GIRLS can't even hit that note, yet alone belt it like Ross did. Simply amazing, I hope Ross get's more solos in the future!

@playsoccer227 What you've pointed out solidifies my opinion: Never Say Never was put together in a week and it was the worst performance from them so far; yet Jump Jive and Footloose were well-polished pieces and they have been performed before. What impresses me more is when a group can demonstrate quick thinking, adaptability, and innovation in their work. All I am saying is: I think we've seen more of this from other groups.

What about The Way You Look Tonight? under the same circumstance in the same week, it was by FAR the best performance of the night! Which shows they CAN demonstrate quick thinking, adaptability, and innovation in their work. And perhaps Never Say Never was not as good as their other songs so far, but it still blows everyone else out of the water for that episode.

Technically a flawless performance, but I guess I miss the 'bite' that the original had. I think Mckay or Keith should have had most of the lead. but technically very good.
I can't believe I said that, I usually hate the comments that compare the groups to the originals...Man, I'm torn. I mean, they ARE my favorite collegiate group this season.
They are a nice group, but I have the feeling they are just drawing from their standard repertoire of songs. They don't seem to face the same challenges during the competition as the other innovative groups such as Pentatonix and Urban Method have.
@hawaiianryan15 Two of their songs were in their repertoire before (Jump Jive and Footloose), but Never Say Never and Way You Look Tonight were both new for them. And as for the former two, they still made lots of arrangement changes for the show that were different from their original forms. The groups have just 7 days to get any song (old or new) ready for primetime, so each week is a challenge for every group.

BTW, they sang this, The Way You Look Tonight (JAKE!<3), and Jump, Jive, &Wail at the concert today. Along with some others. (: I nearly died. Sooo good.

@hawaiianryan15 I wouldn't write comments if you don't know what you're talking about. Jump Jive and Footloose were in their repertoire before, but they re-arranged them, and made them better for the sing off (they had to partly because of time-length restraints, and they had to fill in Ben's missing part with Jump Jive). Way You Look Tonight and Never Say Never were arranged, learned, and choreographed by Vocal Point in a week. Trust me, they were working just as hard as everyone else.

@playsoccer227 What you've pointed out solidifies my opinion: Never Say Never was put together in a week and it was the worst performance from them so far; yet Jump Jive and Footloose were well-polished pieces and they have been performed before. What impresses me more is when a group can demonstrate quick thinking, adaptability, and innovation in their work. All I am saying is: I think we've seen more of this from other groups.

What about The Way You Look Tonight? under the same circumstance in the same week, it was by FAR the best performance of the night! Which shows they CAN demonstrate quick thinking, adaptability, and innovation in their work. And perhaps Never Say Never was not as good as their other songs so far, but it still blows everyone else out of the water for that episode.

@hawaiianryan15 I'm not a fan of fighting over the internet, but I just thought I'd point out that their arrangement of "Footloose" before the Sing-Off is very different from the video you see above. You can search it on youtube if you don't believe it. They did some serious rearranging for the show and it really paid off.

Technically a flawless performance, but I guess I miss the 'bite' that the original had. I think Mckay or Keith should have had most of the lead. but technically very good.
I can't believe I said that, I usually hate the comments that compare the groups to the originals...Man, I'm torn. I mean, they ARE my favorite collegiate group this season.

They are a nice group, but I have the feeling they are just drawing from their standard repertoire of songs. They don't seem to face the same challenges during the competition as the other innovative groups such as Pentatonix and Urban Method have.

@hawaiianryan15 Two of their songs were in their repertoire before (Jump Jive and Footloose), but Never Say Never and Way You Look Tonight were both new for them. And as for the former two, they still made lots of arrangement changes for the show that were different from their original forms. The groups have just 7 days to get any song (old or new) ready for primetime, so each week is a challenge for every group.

Maybe its just this computer, but I can never hear the bass in any of these videos...I can hear it just fine on TV.
The bass and beatboxing was awesome here, they are so energetic, even without the falsettos. Great performance, this will be a tough final 6.
