That IS Dennis DeYoung, not Gowan. Also, it's ONE of the last live performances by John Panozzo. By that time Chuck Panozzo had been diagnosed with HIV.
This is from 1991 when they released their album Edge of the Century (Hall is actually showing the vinyl LP when he introduces the band.)
The classic Styx line up reunited for the Return to Paradise tour in 1996. It was when they recorded Brave New World in 1999 and planned the subsequent tour that the legal battle ended it all.
There is a version of this song that was released during the first gulf war that had clips of news reports in it and messages to loved ones back home...does anyone know where I can get that version? I have looked for it for years to no avail.
Dennis and JY/Tommy sued each other years ago, so STYX as we knew it is over. Gowan can play piano, but as Simon Cowell would say, he should fire his singing coach, because he can't sing. If you want to hear "STYX" simply go see Dennis and his awesome band. He tours a lot!
No, I wasn't trying to pull any one's leg, I wasn't aware that STYX broke up shortly after this song in "91, I think the whole legal thing went down a few years later. Sorry, my bad!
Dennis De Young is Styx

Excellent quality video and audio for this more than 20 year old clip! Great job! I always loved Arsenio, and Styx with Dennis was magic... ::sigh::

What the hell were these guys doing on Arsenio? They hardly appeal to Arsenio's target audience of young, urban hip hop generation.

Great song, and WOW -- what a voice. Saw Dennis DeYoung live last evening, and he can still sing just like this at age 64. Very impressive.

Jy's perm cracks me up! It was like the 2nd season of the Brady Bunch, everyone got perms!
Great version of this song. One of Dennis' finest vocal moments.

Great song! I remember seeing this on tv back in '91. Wish they'd reunite with Dennis. The man has a golden voice.
