Asshole. They added that line in the 50's because a bunch of religious zealots begged Eisenhower. Before it was as it should be -- a pledge of allegiance to a country, not a religion. Even as a child I knew that line was out of place, and I am proud to say I never said it. I felt exremely vindicated when I learned the truth much later. That said, if people feel that strongly about, they are welcome to say the line. But that line has no place in a pledge to our nation.
