Blame the Middle East, America and Asia. They are reproducing excessively leading to the overpopulating of planet Earth. This is the cause for resource depletion. I don't believe the world will have 'dried up' by 207, however. There's still a hell of a lot of water on Earth. Has anyone watching this ever heard of water-makers? They take saltwater and turn it into drinkable water. Tastes a tad funky, but it does the job...

This is some depressing shit but good thing its fake. Its stupid scare tactics targeted towards naive people who dont know that 75% of the earths surface is water that isnt going to dry up anytime soon, plus we have two ice caps full of frozen freshwater. While I think we should take steps to be more resourceful, this "letter" is just a ridiculously extreme exaggeration,
actually....researchers are now giving theory that in the year 2060 we will go to mars and live there...but now...they're trying to pollute that planet coz its too cold to live there....anyhow...they said that all we nid to do to live there is pollute it like what we're doing in this planet.. :))
@gkarthikeyan25 Save our earth and next generation, don't cut trees if unnecessary , if you cut the trees then you ill loos 10% of life in your life time.
@silentjutah we've diverted, polluted and depleted ground water to the point where water is not able to return to the hydrological cycle you learned about in elementary school. You need to educate yourself. Fast.
@ieatpencils While i agree that humans have altered many of the natural processes on earth, I think this video is just way to exaggerated when it comes to telling what could happen to us if we dont do anything about it. The future isnt going to be like this. its as though humans are dumb and ruthless and just hell bent on destroying their own home when thats not the case, we have been aware of the environmental issue for decades and have done much to curb it.
@carlsm95 Ahahahahaha please, enlighten me. What have we done to curb it? The Kyoto Protocol was a nice try, but missed the boat by a longshot. If anything, green house gas emissions have increased at an alarming rate. The US - one of the largest emitters on the planet of green house gases - refused to ratify the protocol. There were not any attainable, concrete goals set for developing countries, which is absolutely elemental to places like China and India, and the goals set for Russia
@ieatpencils im so sorry for being an optimist and having at least a little faith in my fellow man. If everything that we've been doing has been so wrong and done nothing at all i suggest you step up and take over the world, and come up with your own flawless policies? The point is we HAVE made attempts and this vid is highly pessimistic. If im still alive by 2070 i know im not going to be rationed half a glass of water, at least not in the US.
@carlsm95 there's a difference, believe it or not, between being optimistic and completely naive. I'm still waiting to hear what the US has done to combat global warming and the coming water shortage btw, and ffs the vid was an EXAGGERATION. Let me address what you just said there, about the US being aware of the problem and China "throwing large amounts of mercury into the air": are you aware that the US is the world’s second biggest CO2 emitter? So what if they know about the problem,
@ieatpencils also when i talk about how we have made attempts im talking about the US. However rapidly developing countries such as China who are the manufacturers of our goods dont even see the problem yet. China is in an industrial state much like the US was in the 1900's. At least developed countries like the US and UK are aware of the problems, while China is throwing large amounts of mercury into the air.
@carlsm95 if they're not going to do anything about it, it's essentially the same as China "throwing mercury into the air". Secondly, China is not going to stop producing for the sake of the environment; the US basically runs their economy! Also, a large percentage of the companies in China are American companies that produce there because the environmental restrictions aren't as stringent and they can get away with a whole lot of BS they couldn't do in their own country.
@ieatpencils Also, the vid isn't pessimistic; it's supposed to evoke thought and movement. Who said I know all the answers? All I'm saying is we have to stop glossing over the problems, and address them. Believe me, I would run the world if I could, but unfortunately global domination isn't on my list of priorities.
@carlsm95 were during the time it was an industrial powerhouse, which is not the case anymore since the fall of the Soviet Union. On the topic of water, ignorance is bliss. I just happen to be writing a research paper on water privatization, so I had to acquaint myself with this matter. In reality, the world is running out of fresh water. Of course the video is an extreme case of hyperbole, but the point was to make you think. The world will not run out of fresh water because of such things as
@carlsm95 desalinization plants and the like, however privately owned companies, such as Nestle, Coca-Cola, Veolia, Suez etc. will one day own every lake, river, and aquifer in the world. Once this happens, you can expect to be at their mercy regarding how much you'll have to pay to get your water. The tsunamis and earthquakes happening frequently is the result of a change in pressure on the ocean floor from water draining into the ocean instead of returning to the aquifers we've pumped dry.
@carlsm95 Don't even get me started on the electric car, or how you cannot legally remove yourself from the powergrid by erecting a windmill, or how the US has recently gone to Canada to extract our oil in Alberta in complete disregard of the horrendous environmental repercussions... Long story short, humans ARE hellbent on destroying their own home, whether you'd like to acknowledge it or not.
The real problem is over population. Everything in this video can be attributed to over population. STUPID PEOPLE HAVING STUPID CHILDREN! Mother earth would get along just fine without us!
now we got hybrids lol wtf is thaT MAKING THE LITTLE GUY PAY ALWAYS US NOT THE GOVRNMENT and wen the video says we pay to breath well thats happening right now with the CARBON TAX we exhail carbon dioxcide ppl dont see that they jus here carbon monoxcide witch is bad will be taxed well its not carbon monoxcide tax its a carbon tax, a tax for any thing that produces any carbon aka an air tax lol and weres the PPL REV lik in france in 1776
we cant save the planet cause every time we try the government stops us remember the EV1 oh ya u dont cuz u werent told about it well it waz north american built car that waz faster than any gas car and it waz all electric with 400mile range on 1 charge(solar powered so no carbon footprint)witch took 3hours for full charge and in 2003 gov'r told GM to crush the cars into cubes 2mil cars ya then GM needs bailout 5 years later. so we had the best fastest and very nice looking full eletric car&now
so the video is exaggerated a lot. It's to shock people into saving the planet. That's the point. The mere fact that something resembling the uber unrealistic video has even a small chance of happening is scary enough.
You shouldn't panic, but I think we should all be very concerned. Save the planet. It's our only home.
I know this video is unrealistic, but honestly and "open-mindedly", it's exactly those beliefs that this could never happen that'll destroy the planet. Just cause it's unrealistic doesn't mean that we shouldn't be concerned, and just cause we've been warned before doesn't mean we should stop worrying. It's easier to prevent it now than to cure it then.
Unfortunately, as a freshwater specialist and Professor, this is not unrealistic. Places like this exist on the planet already. Half our global population already don't have enough clean water & the situation will only get worse because our culture believes money, oil, gold and diamonds are more important than their fellow man. This video is a good indication of the punishment our children face.
People have different beliefs, this person who created this powerpoint is obviesly in another world or something. Believe what you want to believe. Anyways, why are these people worrying about the future. We should be more focused on whats present.
This video is wrong. In 0:52 it says :''Now, all the rivers, lakes, dams and underground water beds are either dry or contaminated''. Does it says anything about the oceans? No. We have the technology to make salt water into fresh water. Wake up! The NWO wants us to be stressed about everything!
You're right about 1 thing. The future looks bleak but it's because Obama and the Socialists are going to fuck us. They're going to shut off our water and electricity so we will go hungry, but look at the bright side, the salt-marsh mouse and the delta minnow will be just fine. So instead of having children, get a pet frog because the environmental nut jobs care more about frogs than humans.
Hey, you stupid ass moron who posted this video full of lies! Guess what? This type of fear mongering has gone on for generations! I remember in the '80's being warned that we had only twenty years to save the planet, or we risked global annihilation!!!
guys for us to loose our water, it would take the core of earth to solidify, causing our magnetosphere to become null and void thus we would get hammered with cosmic radiation kill us, and allowing things to dry up and drift in space
i think that this ''water problem'' is closely connected with the air polution and our governments should determine at least one day in a week when people, who don't travel big distancest to their work, go to work by bicycle. I think it's stupid to go to work by your car if you're couple miles away.
humans only account for 4% of the co2 emissions, volcanoes erupt every day(both above and below water), wildfires happen constantly as well, every animal breaths, decomposition of bodies. most gas you see getting poured out off a smoke stack on factories is mostly water vapor with some Co2
also this future would take thousands if not hundred of thousands or millions of years to happen naturally remember 5 billion years from now the sun will become a red giant and melt and devour us slowly
WTF you mean by 3% healthy water??? The fact tha we can proccess water slips out of your mind???
Poluted water is stays that way and is not being consumed because we steel have amounts of clean water to drink, so no goverment is going to spend any money to clean poluted water for consumption...
BUT if a country goes out of water, believe me they will demineralize water out of the sea. WHICH IS HAPPENING now we are talking in some countries with low water banks. CYPRUS, just google it...
You mean about the healthy FRESH WATER or in general??? Because if ONLY 3% of earth's water was inapropriate, probably the fish would have died a long ago... BUT they haven't... And I tell you again... I 'm not trying to say that we shouldn't save water... What I'm trying to say is that all this tragedy they pass to us is for their own goals!!! Earth recycles its matter... Where do you find all the matter in your body, and where do you think all this matter goes when we die? Back to earth!!!
WTF u people??? You just believw every bulshit that is thrown to you???
Yes Fresh Water may be in short.
No Water is NOT in short.
Earth is covered 70% by water... There is practical an unlimited source..
The only problem and the reason for bulshiting us, is that to process sea water into drinkable fresh wate is a bit more expencive than to take it almost ready from water banks, lagoons, rivers etc...
My friend, in Cyprus they drink demineralized water from the sea... It is A BIT more expensive. And nobody said to suck the earth dry. EARTH RECYCLES. The shortage of fresh water is from our way of living, and i don't mean the way we waste water, BUT the global harm we do to our planet, messing with its temperature and making the fysical proccess of cleaning water more difficult. This is vaporising of mass water banks into clouds and giving it back as a rain, filtering it through soil and rocks
The process is simple... You boil the sea water, collect the steam and send it to cool in another bottle or whatever... This way you have the draind minerals, and the clean water on the other side...
Except this, what do you think? That in a 4.5 billion years of the earths life, now sudently the water finishes??? i guess that 4.5 billion years our planet should have been tripple in size just from water...
But NO, it wasn't because the water doesn't just dissapears or vaporized into space... it recycles... FROM EVERYTHING... Even when we die the water of our body (yes, we are made of 65% water!!!) goes back to earth, which passes through soil, rocks, rutes, other animals, and goes again in the earth...!!!
Just think a bit more logical before you continue bulshiting your self and the others!!!
not one of you dumb asses is going to see the day when there is no water because i believe that the "human" animal well dead and long gone or maybe not maybe we'll go to space but god who the hell thinks that water is running out prove it
sad, stupod ppl think that they can do everything with water because its cheap, or if u rent a house it may b free... even the intelligence of ppl is sttupid, if there is no waqter theres no more oxygen and no more of both, no more trees, how u make crayons or papers without trees... in 2070 the earth won't b like that but in 3000 or more it will be like that i'm shure, so my message is: SAVE WATER DRINK BEER!!!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
So very stupid. Water cant just run out it just changes location and form. Water can be decontaminanted by dehydration then condensation(...rain...dah) It Will ALWAYS rain as long as the sun shines. Charities are for the rich and famous PI. I dont believe charities are now trying to get to us through youtube now, Reminds me of the donkey charity. 1£ a month and this donkey will have a clean water to drink, lol. I think its called a "saint" scam or something. I do believe in global warming btw.
Really interesting. So please tell me in what way water on many islands here in Greece has changed location and form, for example on Cyprus, where there´s no water any more. Where has it gone to? Or on the island of Aigina, where water has "changed location and form" many years before, just as on many other islands. Being a little bit more careful with water would not hurt anyone, would it?
lol, I guess we forget that our lifespan is pretty short compared to ever changing world, and that one day they maybe a pond outside and a decade later its a swamp. The world will always change, no matter what we do, why stop natural occourences. YES, I said natural. We cant expect it to be where we want it to be forever. Water moves, get over it!!
dude wtf are u saying??..of course the water changes forms but this doesnt mean it cant be consumed.. ex.the water you drink and pie or sweat sure can be filtered but it wont be in its original form. if u believe all the things you say about "natural occourenses" then u didnt get anything from the vid.. the vid is trying to say that we can STALL this from happening! of course it is going to happen but if everyone was thinking like u we wouldnt be here talking..
OH MY GOD..we MUST do something if we want to live a normal life... we are the generation which is supposed to do something to save the earth from being destroyed...and if we don't do something then who will????
global warming is not a good thing, its just as bad as running out of water. I looked this up, a scientist in d usa reasearched this and says that this is all true, at the rate everything is going, it may come true, but we can still change it
By 2070 I am sure we would have determined how to desalinize the ocean water cost effectively. There is 326 million trillion gallons of water on the earth. Not to mention all the extra water we will have when the polar ice caps melt with global warning. Maybe global warming is a good thing....more water.
I think it's stupid to go to work by your car if you're couple miles away.

humans only account for 4% of the co2 emissions, volcanoes erupt every day(both above and below water), wildfires happen constantly as well, every animal breaths, decomposition of bodies. most gas you see getting poured out off a smoke stack on factories is mostly water vapor with some Co2
PerfectChaos1212 2 years ago
also this future would take thousands if not hundred of thousands or millions of years to happen naturally remember 5 billion years from now the sun will become a red giant and melt and devour us slowly

CYPRUS, just google it...
skoy21 3 years ago
You mean about the healthy FRESH WATER or in general??? Because if ONLY 3% of earth's water was inapropriate, probably the fish would have died a long ago... BUT they haven't... And I tell you again... I 'm not trying to say that we shouldn't save water... What I'm trying to say is that all this tragedy they pass to us is for their own goals!!! Earth recycles its matter... Where do you find all the matter in your body, and where do you think all this matter goes when we die? Back to earth!!!
skoy21 3 years ago
WTF u people??? You just believw every bulshit that is thrown to you???
Yes Fresh Water may be in short.
No Water is NOT in short.
Earth is covered 70% by water... There is practical an unlimited source..
The only problem and the reason for bulshiting us, is that to process sea water into drinkable fresh wate is a bit more expencive than to take it almost ready from water banks, lagoons, rivers etc...
skoy21 3 years ago
Just a bit more expensive? It's A LOT more expensive. You can't just suck the earth dry of water Have you any idea what that does?
larrylemming 2 years ago
My friend, in Cyprus they drink demineralized water from the sea... It is A BIT more expensive. And nobody said to suck the earth dry. EARTH RECYCLES. The shortage of fresh water is from our way of living, and i don't mean the way we waste water, BUT the global harm we do to our planet, messing with its temperature and making the fysical proccess of cleaning water more difficult. This is vaporising of mass water banks into clouds and giving it back as a rain, filtering it through soil and rocks
skoy21 2 years ago
The process is simple... You boil the sea water, collect the steam and send it to cool in another bottle or whatever... This way you have the draind minerals, and the clean water on the other side...
Except this, what do you think? That in a 4.5 billion years of the earths life, now sudently the water finishes??? i guess that 4.5 billion years our planet should have been tripple in size just from water...
skoy21 3 years ago
But NO, it wasn't because the water doesn't just dissapears or vaporized into space... it recycles... FROM EVERYTHING... Even when we die the water of our body (yes, we are made of 65% water!!!) goes back to earth, which passes through soil, rocks, rutes, other animals, and goes again in the earth...!!!
Just think a bit more logical before you continue bulshiting your self and the others!!!
skoy21 3 years ago
not one of you dumb asses is going to see the day when there is no water because i believe that the "human" animal well dead and long gone or maybe not maybe we'll go to space but god who the hell thinks that water is running out prove it
nelippez 3 years ago 2
They just eat what is thrown to them man... They can't realize that the only thing running out is THE EASY WAY to get fresh water...
skoy21 3 years ago
this is kind of scary
but it seems that a lot of people dont care about it, even though also, many other people are trying to do something about it
we should all help and maybe this wont happen

sad, stupod ppl think that they can do everything with water because its cheap, or if u rent a house it may b free... even the intelligence of ppl is sttupid, if there is no waqter theres no more oxygen and no more of both, no more trees, how u make crayons or papers without trees... in 2070 the earth won't b like that but in 3000 or more it will be like that i'm shure, so my message is: SAVE WATER DRINK BEER!!!

Water just doesnt disappear. The water you used today was around when the dinosaurs roamed the earth and longer.

I do believe in global warming btw.

since ur sayin it rains as long as the sun is ther then explain why it dont rain in the desert if all it needs is the sun...?

Really interesting. So please tell me in what way water on many islands here in Greece has changed location and form, for example on Cyprus, where there´s no water any more. Where has it gone to? Or on the island of Aigina, where water has "changed location and form" many years before, just as on many other islands. Being a little bit more careful with water would not hurt anyone, would it?
Sept1999 3 years ago
lol, I guess we forget that our lifespan is pretty short compared to ever changing world, and that one day they maybe a pond outside and a decade later its a swamp. The world will always change, no matter what we do, why stop natural occourences. YES, I said natural. We cant expect it to be where we want it to be forever. Water moves, get over it!!
Naughtydogg 3 years ago
dude wtf are u saying??..of course the water changes forms but this doesnt mean it cant be consumed.. ex.the water you drink and pie or sweat sure can be filtered but it wont be in its original form. if u believe all the things you say about "natural occourenses" then u didnt get anything from the vid.. the vid is trying to say that we can STALL this from happening! of course it is going to happen but if everyone was thinking like u we wouldnt be here talking..

global warming is not a good thing, its just as bad as running out of water. I looked this up, a scientist in d usa reasearched this and says that this is all true, at the rate everything is going, it may come true, but we can still change it
ayjw1234 3 years ago
By 2070 I am sure we would have determined how to desalinize the ocean water cost effectively. There is 326 million trillion gallons of water on the earth. Not to mention all the extra water we will have when the polar ice caps melt with global warning. Maybe global warming is a good thing....more water.
