  • Dear religion,

This is how it began 500 million years ago.

  • Anytime you see them in the US, kill them. They are huge threat to native species in FL and in CA.

  • A lot of stupid people think that this is an example of evolution of an aquatic animal to a land animal. It's not. It's just an adaptation where it can leave water for a short time to find a better body of water. It's still a fully aquatic creature. It still has to stay wet. Its goal when out of water is to find a new body of water to live in. These fish aren't evolving into land-based creatures.

    Please think before you comment.

  • @Supermassively

but, while it's very unlikely for these fish to eventually evolve into full fledged land animals, they could evolve foot and leg-like structures to aid in their temporary land treks..my whole point is that this is how evolution happens in general..populations of organisms change because they're forced to adapt..

  • @itzahazylife they would be forced to adapt is correct. that doesnt mean they will evolve legs.who says that they've never walked before? they probrably once lived in a habitat that in order to get to another body of water they had to skid along. this is all the beuty of creation

  • forget transitional fossils proving evolution, how about a real live walking catfish. a living transitional animal.

  • @itzahazylife yeah because that prooves evolution

  • @incredible916

it's an intriguing piece of evidence, strongly displaying how the transition from water to land could have taken place..of course that alone doesn't prove evolution, but, when u add it to everything else...

  • @itzahazylife evolution is really proved nothing can explain why we are here better!!!

  • @itzahazylife what are you adding this to exactly

  • @itzahazylife Don't be stupid. Evolution is correct, but this isn't an aquatic creature evolving into a land creature. It never stops being an aquatic creature. It just developed an adaptation to find a new body of water to live in.

  • @Supermassively

these walking catfish could eventually end up being the common ancestral species of some type of land animal a long time from now..that could very well happen, actually. it's said that mammals come from sea creatures, so, what's stopping a walking catfish from eventually forming better traits for moving on land? what's stopping traits from forming that allow gills to extract oxygen from the air, or that form a completely new method of breathing air?

  • given enough time, life can do anything in order to survive if that gene happens to come along via random mutation..there are even bacteria whose dna strand has an arsenic molecule as one of its components!

now grant it, it's very unlikely these particular catfish will become land animals. point is, it could happen..these fish are forced onto land for extended periods of time..anything that aids them while they are land bound will be selected for..if the right mutations occur, it could happen.

  • @Supermassively i'm so sorry but evolution is not correct. there is absolutley no concrete evidence that a mutation can become an entirely new spieces

  • @octex8th

"there is absolutley no concrete evidence that a mutation can become an entirely new spieces"

lol. Many small mutations over a long time result in new species. Why wouldn't they? Mutations are changes to the genetic code. So, if they build up over time, why wouldn't many small changes lead to new species?

  • @octex8th Right, and clearly someone who can't spell simple words like "absolutely" or "species" is intelligent enough to be an authority on evolutionary biology.

  • where do ya live?

  • Ive had one that we found in the street(i was in florida)and we put in in our fish tank and the next morning we found it behind the washing machine

  • @MrProtuber yup

  • YESS finally! this is easy fishing

  • its the Chuck Norris catfish.

  • if i saw one id toss it in my fish tank :D

but over in the us they are MAJOR pests

  • @plopmeista it is illegal

  • So cool

  • someone please ship me a few of these.

  • where do you live?

  • In Soviet Russia, fish find YOU.

  • It is mandated by law that these animals must be destroyed if encountered. Their illegal and mess up the entire eco system! Having these fishes is against federal law and you can be punished with 1000 dollar fine and also 1 year in jail!

  • @calirez01 No it's not. Go screw.

  • @calirez01 - Are you nuts?

  • Please make sure is not The Clarian comes from Cuba is a mixture between a frog and a catfish and most people thinks they are walking catfish but These creature was man made and can live out of water for 72hrs and Please be very careful since they can give gangrene

  • Please, please kill these fish by freezing them for 24 hr & then burning them due not throw them on the ocean or lakes since these can kill our eco system since they tend to grow up to 4 feet and can eat chickens, snakes, mice, frogs & birds

If the police find you with these you will be arrested and be send to jail for a whole year & having to pay a big fine these fish are illegal in u.s.a

  • @lababydoll123 - What the....where are you guys reading this? How can this be illegal? Am I gonna get arrested if some birds are flying around my trees that carry diseases?

  • they look so slimy aw ^.^

  • catfish have lungs

  • This is a bit amazing about a catfish I mean it's a fish but they can walk! Well my uncle said that catfish grows lungs so that they can breathe! It's amazing right?

  • catch it eat it!!!!! crispy fish

  • This is so cool! I wish lived where there are walking catfish!
