  • This song is awesome I wish they;d play more of this on the radio

  • @doge1115 f**king radio won't play any song over 3 minutes - you know that...

  • OMG... This fucking good music will never return. The shit we have today is not even worthy to clean the shoes of Genesis. Thumbs up who agree

  • Going to see Musical Box in The Hague, feb 2012, can't wait!

  • Don't look for the meaning; just listen and enjoy. You don't need to know. The unknown mystery supplements the enjoyment. By all means use your imagination, let it take you on a little journey, but you don't need conclusions.

  • this is the best Genesis album ever

  • anyone else off to see Musical Box present this in Manchester on March 15th (2012)? I can't wait...

  • @RichardIllusion i just bought tickets for their final show in montreal in may!!! SOOO excited!

  • Whoever does not like this needs to have their nuts covered with peanut butter; then tied up in a rat infested alley. I will quit ...while I'm being NICE!

  • Soft machine's Third is also a great double album. It's advant-garde jazz with only 4 tracks that are about 18 and a half minutes.

  • One asshole dislike this fucking masterpiece. Why he came here? He was wrong and maybe search Bieber or Lady Gaga. I don´t know.

  • @1961vampire Ignorant user, running off your mouth

Don't presume wht that got clicked.

  • @forcelifeforce I never clicked on dislike button. I choose a music or other thing, if I don´t like I choose another thing and go for it. But tha´t I am. If I offended you then I am sorry.

  • @1961vampire Yes, now two assholes. Maybe Jonathan King was one of them.

  • ~~~~ Drifts off into a dream

  • awesome song.whatever happened to making music

  • love

  • If I ever form a band, main influences will include Genesis, Pink Floyd, The Who (Tommy and Quadrophenia era), Queen, and The Doors.

  • No drum machine, Phil's real talent, the way I like it

  • I lick the Rickenbaker sounding bass line on this very heavy!!!

  • pink floyd, genesis and supertramp are the best bands of all time!

  • Comment removed

  • @GuyWithGuitars1 it's ok if he doesn't like genesis, or if he likes eminem

  • never the same band when gabriel left saw them perform the lamb at manchester apollo what a night ,only went because i read they did the musical box in the encore awesome

  • I just ordered the album like 2 minutes ago. Its amazing, an album from 1974 by a cult band from the early 70s is still influencing kids today and it still ROCKS!

  • The PERFECT intro for this album, by the great Anthony Banks. Long live to Progressive!

  • I like both eras of genesis, its all good IMO :)

  • then phil collins showed his big bald head from behind the drums and they sucked after, should have left it to peter gabriel

  • @rdfronnie Phil Collins wasn't bald when Peter Gabriel left and Gabriel left to move onto other things, he wasn't interested in Genesis once he'd done.

  • Höddi Magg sent me here

  • The lamb lies down on broadway album is something like The wall album from pink floyd

  • @gonzataker Ya know, i've never thought of this album that way. I totally agree. Great observation. Not the wall of course, but each album artistry in their own right.

  • the lamb lies down on broadway > white album > the wall. thats just my opinion actually. im sure all albums are stronger in their own ways of course. they also have alot in common! both are double albums from great classic bands and all 3 covers are mainly white!

  • it isn't the video---just close your eyes if you can find all that you need with your eyes

I used to read the inner cover when I was listening

  • justin Bieber, was that you clicking on the 'dislike' button?

  • The best album of the Gabriel Years....90 minutes of pure unadulterated ear candy since I first purchased it as a double-cassette in Winter 1989!

  • this song swakens the soul and spirit..and the build up is amazing..

  • this album is a better description of the drug than the actual drug

  • Convergence of pure talent - maybe the best opening minute of any classic/progressive rock album.

  • Who's the idiot who voted thumbs down to this classic?

  • masterpiece!

  • u gotta love tony bank's keyboard in this song

  • The last album whith Peter Gabriel..... Wonderful... The best.

  • Most creative british band - outstanding live concerts. I'm glad that I have been there in the 70's.

  • where indeed did the lamb lie down on broadway? This is such unusual imagery that it still sticks until now. Considering that these guys are still here and making music, don't you think that it is about time that they explain it to us? We bought all their records.

  • @phellandrene I've always thought he means that The Lamb of Christ is found everywhere, even somewhere like NYC which is considered the pinnacle of modern secular society. I've heard that Gabriel is a serious Catholic. And though I'm an atheist, I consider this is an epic sonic vision of the "Jesus in the Modern World" tale.

  • this guys (gabriel) is one of the top 5 genius lyricist of all time along with Lennon/Mccartney, Ray Davies, Pete Townshend, and Syd Barrett.

  • @DaveS12382 Syd Barret is overrated, he only did 2 albums with Pink Floyd

  • @clonecomanderfox actually 1 (piper at the gates of dawn) then they only put 1 song of his on the second album( A saucerful of secrets (jugband blues) But thats just kids speak... Then Syd released 2 Solo albums "The Madcap Laughs" (widely considered a genius work) and "Barrett" both in 1970. Then there was a third solo album released after he went into seclusion indefinitely "Opel". Now did you want to talk about the Floyd or just Syd Barrett? Shame on you when you step through the DSS kid.....

  • @DaveS12382 I'm not a fan of his solo work, but I think from what he wrote for Pink Floyd, he was good, but not an amazing artist.

  • @clonecomanderfox Yeah but the first album he wrote all of the lyrics and music and it was a masterpiece

  • @DaveS12382 You forgot Roger Waters

  • @nre1994 I saw Roger Waters in concert last Oct. performing the wall, don't even try son.

  • @DaveS12382 Hey man different people have different opinions on music, that's why everyone doesn't listen to the same artist. Don't shame people for not knowing Syd Barrett as 'well' as you know him. He was good, and Pipers is a great album, but don't force your opinions on others. You've just become an overzealous Christian here.

  • @DaveS12382 Dude what the hell are you even talking about, i said he was an awesome lyricist and you are just coming out retarded

  • @nre1994 yes ,and don't forget the great justin bieber!!!

  • @artconva Oh yes you can't forget the great justin bieber

  • @DaveS12382 What do you mean Syd Barret is a genius lyricist he's shit. However I do agree that the other 4 are brilliant.

  • Genesis is the best :P

  • I was named after Rael

  • @xbatman1x that's funny, my brother's middle name is Rael. Yay for hippie dads!

  • OMG .... Genius at work here people. Surprised it's here on YouTube.

  • Dowwnload the audio from this tune at tubepull doht cohm.

  • the perfection is that after the brilliant intro it starting out with the vocals wihout instrumentals. i think because the poor space on the vinyl

  • Fantastic song and yes, the intro is, I agree, intense. It is fantastic. Bands don't experiment and have as much fun with their music any more, the way these guys did. Oh, well.

  • @kcdrew69 yes ,it seems that nowadys the only singer who is having fun with his great music and exploiting his great genius is Justin Bieber.

  • Amo !!!!!!!!

  • dapse

  • great piano opening!

  • What a fantastic, transitional album from Artist to Artist. What an album. I like Phil but Gabriel is God.

  • @arbycub No,peter is just a man;just a talented musician.

  • @gebass6 ..hes a very underated bass player...check out early genesis, fountain of salmacis etc

  • The beginning of this song is the perfect start for this album. It's so intense. You can totally tell that something big and awesome is coming your way.
