  • Huge fan of them both!!

  • He was great! Saw him in 1979 in Tenn. Feel in love with his music right then! Will always remember that time.

  • Simply the best saxophonist ever.

  • Boots plays this song like Ray Charles sings it--unlike anything you've ever heard.

  • WHAT AN AWESOME DUO !!!!!!

  • LOL...Great comments from the Peanut Gallery...and Where are Your Gold Records hanging?

And how many recordings have you played on that sold millions of records? Slow Music does Sell...It has through out every genre of music. Your opinions are so valued~

  • One thing I will always be grateful to my mama for was getting me hooked on Homer Louis Randolph III damn this man could flat out play..............

  • @HowardOfOz3565 ha, we have a lot in common

  • Did I see Chet there also? Country music lost 3 of the best musicians when Chet, Floyd & Boots left us. It looks like this was taped at the Nashville Palace, which they owned.

  • Fantastic performance

  • In my opinion he was the greatest honker there ever was.

  • Loved seeing him in Nashville! Boots was fantastic.

  • Thanks for uploading this... I used to listen to Boots when I was a kid. This was just wonderful.

  • WHO IS BILLY PRESTON?

  • Why not look him up on the Web. He has had several hits, including "With you I'm Born Again" - a very lovely song

  • I have never heard Boots play it like that before. It is better than the version on his album. You want to hear it over and over!

  • nice job.

  • Both wonderful Elvis musicians!!!!!!!!!

  • About two years ago, I found Boots' website with an e-mail listed for contacting him! So I sat down and wrote him everything that you would want to tell your idol. I told him how much he had influenced my playing even though I'm in my thirties and that my father had introduced me to Yakety Sax while I was in high school. I told him of the hours I had spent learning his songs from records and how much those things were still with me today. He responded "Thank you, your sax buddy, Boots"

  • auto-responder.

    BOOTS RANDOLPH IS DEAD

  • What is an auto-responder? And I think anyone that would take the time to post here is aware that Boots is no longer with us...

  • Exactly, but YouTube thinks that anyone who likes to feel a part of the YouTube community by adding their two cents to a lot of videos by text comments must be some sort of advertising auto-responder. I'm glad you understood exactly what I was saying.

  • Still love to hear his "chicken sax" on all those old Brenda Lee recordings.

  • Great posting.. thanks for putting that up... Would love to see a video of Mr. Randolph playing Harlem Nocturne... Loved that tune with him covering it..

  • Oh yes! I forgot about his Harlem Nocturne...loved it! Thanks for the reminder.

  • Boots is my idol.

You've mentioned his "Harlem Nocturne". Really?! I can't find it on iTunes...

I would love to hear it (my favorite sax tune)!

  • Both Floyd and Boots recorded on some of Elvis's great songs.Elvis , Boots and Floyd are all lrgends!!

  • Best of the Best. Anymore?,please post. I don't think any sax player contributed more to the sound of the sax, than Boots Randolph. Gary Weaver, thanks to you too!

  • Great post.

    Thanks

  • Fantastic!!!

  • I was fortunate enough to meet Boots and be near his 50+ years of entertaining. ICON. RIP Mr. Randolph and thanks for the memories.

  • Love this .....soooooo special....he makes that sax speak!!!!!!!!

  • So glad to hear you had contact...how fortunate for you...He was and IS great!

  • his time was up but his music will never be

  • Thanks for posting. I am deeply saddened to hear of Boot's passing. I grew up listening to him on my parents LPs, and still to this day have NEVER heard a sax player as soulful as him.

  • RIP BOOTS

  • what a sax player , makes the hairs on your arms stand up /

  • Love the Boots. My wife used to listen to him in Decatur Illinois before he became known as Boots.
