How can people say that Aang and Katara were better. Zuko almost died protecting her against Azula! He searched for the man who killed her mother for her. It would have been a perfect ending.

Of course, they may not have gone with it because it would have been REALLY predictable. I mean, Water and Fire being lovers. It's a bit of a cliche. Total opposites joining together. But it just doesn't seem right without it.

Aang can have Toph ... or Momo ... JUST NOT KATARA!

You know why they chose the ending they did, for the battle against Azula? I think it was to try and either piss off the zutarians or an attempt to placate us. They don't end up together, but at least they have a touching moment that shows they... Oh, how to put this without inciting anyone's wrath... I don't really get the whole Kataang vs. Zutara battle. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion & I don't see why people bash so much. It's just a cartoon.But, I do favor Zutara more. Personally I felt uncomfortable with the ending of the show, especially since im a zutarian and not a kataang supporter. True there has of course been some sequences where a little "zutara" was involved at several points through the show, but things don't always go that way does it?

Just think, even though zutara isnt canon, doesn't mean it necessarily cant be anywhere possible to fit in as a canon.

I think putting Katara and Zuko together would have been a brillient move. It would have proved that the hero (who in this case, happens to be under the age of thirteen) doesn't always get the girl. She was older then him. To me, the affection she showed Aang seemed to be bordering between maternal and sisterly..but thats just my opinion...

If it's unpredictable and, like you said, the hero doesn't end up with the girl in the end it just makes the hero all that more human and relatable to the readers/viewers.

I'm okay with Aang and Katara, but honestly, I have this things for 'opposites' and fire and water just compliment each other so well, like that whole watertribe philosophy.
