There is a difference since it's RGB. However, if it was an AV Cable instead of RGB, then it would've been the same. HDMI runs 1080p, same does the AV Cable.

@Tevoxzi I see what you mean. I loved the simple Uncharted 2 multiplayer. Though the third's story was freaking epic, it did have quite a few holes in it (more towards the end), that I won't spoil here, but would be happy to tell you in a message if you wanted. They made U3's multiplayer a little too complex, but time to time, I have a lot of fun with it. Usually when I play 3 team death match with a buddy. I still play U2 though.

You CAN see the difference between HD's 1080p and 720p (1280x720) vs Component & DvD's 480p. Watch any video on youtube that has 1080p. select 1080p, View it full screen. then select 480p ad 360p and view it full screen. See the difference from 1080p?YEA YOU DO! this Moran is using only dvd resolution to show you hd.. sigh.

Component has deeper richer colour with deeper black levels because the three colours R=red,G=green,B=blue are split into three separate signal cables, which retain more depth of colour purity with no signal loss, whereas HDMI has to output the three colour signal R,G,B, through one cable, which gives lossy compression of color, the colors are not as deep and tend to be more washed out, which people confuse for "Brighter" color, one cable HDMI cannot do the job of three colour cables R,G,B, LOL!

Just so everyone knows, HDMI is really not important if you're not trying to view content in 3D, or if you have an alternative method to hooking up audio, or do not have a setup that has surround sound

HDMI is nice because it'll easily do 480i-1080p video output, and also is capable of up to 7.1 surround sound all with one cable, plus it's the only cable method available that can do 3D, using HDMI 1.4

If you can't use HDMI surround sound component video will do just fine, it can still do 1080p.

Contrary to popular HDMI craze hype..there are no video differences between DVI and HDMI. only difference is HDMI carries sound as well as video. as far as TVs are concerned yes there is a slight difference is video between RCA(red, white, yellow) and HDMI.
