Fond memories! Great to see the place is doing well. Back in 1988, I used to often go to the Woodman with my classmate Kevin Kennelly. We were visiting graduate students from Canada, studying at the RMCS just down the road. The Woodman always lived up to our image of the quintessential English pub. At that time it was owned by a man named John. Friendly gentleman and quite a character; but then again I never saw him sober!
oops- forgot to mention- 'i dnt see no colored ppl or asians' is a double negative, so there must have been some... so what are you complaining about? What price adult literacy, eh? How many other sites are commented upon with your SMS shorthand and less than perfect grasp of English?
If you see no colored people or Asians, then it's because there were none present at the time of filming... or would you have liked to shipped a few in just to make it 'balanced'? This is a little village in Oxfordshire, for Dog's sake, what do you expect? I saw a film about Delhi once, but I didn't make a point of complaining about the lack of English faces.... Anyway, having had a pint or three at the Woodman myself in years gone by, good luck to them....
have heard so much about this pub will have to pay a visit sometime soon!thought at first id stumbled on a trailer 4 midsummer murders, lovely bit of film making sumptious summer tones and all that..i can almost taste the warm beer...
I've been here! and it's BRILLIANT! The Beer is fantastic and the Log Fire at this time of Year is great! They have a Banqueting Hall in there as well that can have a lot of people for any large gatherings Christmas etc!
And regardles of how popular it is I NEVER seem to have to wait for a Pint!
I miss you, Dear Old Blighty.
