  • Lmfao, look at the chick behind him!!

    She seems to be air humping guitar shorty

    amazing guitar skills

    Thanks for posting.

    Luv the Texas flag shirt. Even though I'm cali born TX is in my heart.

  • @zombiejon

    Yes, he wears this shirt for a lot of his gigs.

  • what was trhe guy at 2:51 doin to his strap!?!

  • @King0fBananas

    He was just putting it back on and walking on back up to the stage...

  • Shorty was Jimi's brother-in- law... married to his sister.

  • Wow this guy is great.

  • @Sammybizness

    Yes, Shorty really gets down with the BLUES!

  • The girl dancing behind him has the totally wrong vibe. This ain't Woodstock. This is the blues. This guy is related to Jimi. And he's in the that category.

  • Shorty left the stage and went down and played with his fans, he did not seem to mind what they were wearing or if they thought they were at Woodstock..

    I totally agree with what you say about his amazing talent. It is my understanding that Shorty taught Jimi a few guitar licks and that they were related ...

    Thank you for your comment.

  • Thats the real deal - right there

  • Yes, he is indeed the real deal!

  • Blues guys always seem to have so much fun with the fans :)))))))))))

  • Fantastic!!!

    Grandma mary

    Sound great as ever!

    ADDIE

  • Yes indeed PierceMedia!

  • Yes!!!

  • Yes, small venues are what I like. Indoors or outdoors, as long as it is a small venue I feel comfortable. The huge crowds are not for me...

    Thanks for dropping by bigguyaussie...

  • I saw him a few years ago at 3rd Street blues in Reno, little club great show.

  • Yep, time did seem to stand still DustyRolls!

    Lucky to hang out with him tbagger666! There are worse things than baby powder smell. heh

    Did he play the guitar while you were there?

  • ive hung out with him a couple times.

    he smells like baby powder lol but he is an amazing person

  • i think time stood still a bit that day, or even warped back a ways

  • Saw him at the Jacksonville Blues fest on '07. He walked around through the crowd playin' smokin hot blues! You know when you go to see him, you will get your moneys worth and more!! Awesome blues master!!!

  • Yes ThunderBroomSB, I hope to see him again too!

  • Just saw him the other day. Great entertainer. I just wished the vocals were dialed down a touch and that the bass guitar was brought up a couple of notches. I'd see him again.

  • I got this Guitar Shorty's autograph yesterday. When i was going to get a CD i asked him which one and he said "well, this one is in a lot of movies, but this other one won an award"

  • That sounds like Shorty, always promoting himself. Now that you have seen him perform (and I'm sure you've listened to that disc, whichever one you bought, more than a few times) you are probably telling your friends all about him. He really is something special.

  • Yes, he is special and I wish I had gotten a disc, was too busy filming and then he was gone....

  • Yes, Shorty is so cool to share his time with his fans...

  • There is nothing like a guitar shorty concert...the electricity really charges the air..you can even feel it just by watching this video!

  • sodafixer!

    Hey rrwjw- my wife and I saw him at Warmdaddys in June too. You're right, he was on fire that night for sure! Hope to see you Wednesday.

  • Guitar Shorty is awesome..true player.

  • Guitar Shorty is Jimmy Hendrix's uncle in law, he is also the one who played guitar with him when Hendrix was young.

  • reaper710

    Yes,I have recently learned about the connection between Shorty and Jimi.

    Thank you for your comment

  • Walter Trout loves the guy.He is the deal man ..

  • He is indeed the real deal.

    The crowd responded to Shorty in an amazing way...

  • Caught him in Philly one week before the 4 of July and what does he play for his last song but The Star Spangle Banner and The Battle Hym Of The Republic THE PLACE WENT NUTS!!!!!

    Great guy, smoking hot guitarist with unreal tone....Can't wait to see him in Nov. in Hanover PA. the time can't come fast enough.

  • Wish I had been there for that!

  • I've just become a Shorty fan and have seen him 4 times and as a performer and a person he is as classy as they come. He gives his all and really loves his fans. We spoke about his upcoming recording and soon to come live dvd. He is still touring on the the greatness of "We the people" so the new one won't be out until next year, the dvd might will come out at the same time. If you've never seen him it's your loss. To put it simply to see Shorty is to Love Shorty. He is as good as they come!!!!!

  • "To put it simply to see Shorty is to Love Shorty. He is as good as they come!!!!!"

    ~~~~~~~~~
    I agree !
  • How cool is that!
    Thanks for sharing....
  • OH MY GOD!
    I seen him in Ottawa, and he came into the crowd and it was FUCKING AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!
    I gave him the horns and he gave me the horns during a long note. fuckin epic.
  • I just saw him in Dallas. He can go on and on with his guitar solos. Great tone with his guitars, and very fast speed runs. Really good! Glad I caught him.
  • Yes,I would like to make a longer "Guitar Shorty" film...
  • I just saw this guy 2 days ago at the Maryland Blues fest. It was freaking incredible.
  • I would soo like to make more films with him...he seems real down to earth and fun to be around.
  • He's got the shit...that's for sure.
  • Yes indeed he sure has got IT!
    He was a crowd pleaser and you could tell he enjoyed the close contact with his fans... and the feeling was mutual!
  • actually, shorty did,nt just play with hendrix, he pretty much taught jimi all his tricks! you see, shorty married jimi's older stepsister when he was young.
  • " shorty married jimi's older stepsister when he was young. "
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Well..I learn somthing every day!

    Thank you for stopping by and mentioning this fascinating info!

    I did not know this....

  • I saw him at "Cozys" in Studio City, he absolutely blew me away, you just can't take your eyes off him playin and he does it non stop for hours, he really is amazing. He tours all the time. Funny story about Guitar Shorty, about 6 months ago had a guy come to my house to fix something, real cool man, we started talking about music, said he tours, plays blues with a few, we both said Guitar Shorty at the same time, this guy told me alot about him including that he used to play w/Hendrix, Way COOL

  • bitofallright?

    Please message me,I would love to hear what this man said about Guitar Shorty!

    Thank you.

  • The only person I have ever seen who could out perform Guitar Shorty as far as trick guitar blues is Rick Lee. They both should be a lot more famous than they are.

  • Shorty is getting more famous by the minute!

    He is a lot of fun to be around and his fans are vocal concerning his talent.

    Thank you cryingsoftly for your comment.

  • Do you mean Alvin Lee of Ten Years After? His brother Ric Lee was the drummer. TYA is one of the greatest rock bands ever in my opinion and Alvin was and still is as good or better than any guitarist from the 60s on. Shorty's great too, I saw him in Eureka.

  • This was my first time to film at Blues By The Bay Festival.

    I had a GREAT time and hope to return.

  • No, rick lee is a Houston blues musician of chinese origin. His band is known as the night owls.

  • wow! he is by far one of my favorite bluesman. It is such a shame that he is not as well known as he should be. Who else gets right in the crowd of fans and plays like that?

  • I have to tell you that there was ANOTHER

    {perhaps more famous} bluesman who went out into the audience that day.

    It was Shorty who stole the heart of the crowd.{In my humble opinion}

  • It's so nice to see people enjoy themselves like this at close range of the artist. Guitar Shorty has taken over from Buddy Guy. Superb Bluesman!

  • I know I had a LOT of fun making this, and I hope to go back to The Blues By The Bay Festival next year!All the artists and staff were generous with their time...and gracious to allow me to film them.

  • flyingsquirrel48; It certainly conveys the feeling of love & generosity. Factors that are sadly missing from most music today and seemed to be replaced with unnecessarily obscene attitude and commercial greed.

  • Yes...I agree,the music was magic that day.

    Thank you for checking out my vid.

  • If you want to see hammer-ons and pull-offs, look at 0:58-1:05 and at 2:25-2:30. Very common techniques use by guitarists in the blues and rock genres. No big deal. I would submit that Shorty is a big deal and a well respected bluesman, as well as a a real showman. If you haven't seen him live, don't miss the opportunity.

  • I will look!

    Thanks a lot for your comment and info.

  • yea lol that was hammer-ons...this means that he was using his fingers to "hammer on" to the fret board hard enough to produce the correct sound and wanted to spice things up by making it seem like he was playing with his mouth.

  • Oh thanks,I was wondering...heh.

  • Now that's what I call a mouth full of blues. That was about the most fun with the crowd a blues man could have.

  • Yes,Shorty was a real crowd pleaser that day! You think he was playing with his teeth or his tongue?

  • lol nither he was playing with hammer-ons

  • "hammer-ons"?

    What does this mean?

    Thank you for checking out my video.

  • I recall seeing him back in the early 90s with Lucky Lopez Evans & Lurrie Bell. Wow, unbelievable evening.

  • Mr. Excitement!
