Esta é a minha ópera favorita. Gosto mais dela do que de "Tristão e Isolda". Gosto muito tanto da "Overture" como das áreas de Elizabeth, de Tannhauser e dos duetos.

A friend of mine gives Wagner a hard time because of his antisemitism. He may have a point but whether Wagner was a vulgar man or not one cannot dispute that he created music of utter and complete beauty. Whatever the man was like it is his music which will endure and inspire and move people through the ages.

Überhaupt kann ich dein Problem nicht verstehen? Was haben dir die Banken getan? Die sind nicht an Massenimmigration schuld. Ich finds zudem lustig, ja erbärmlich, wie viele Leute Wagners Talent auf sich projezieren. Wagner war Deutscher, ein Deutscher ist aber dadurch noch lange kein Wagner. Wer sich was auf die geteilte Staatsbürgerschaft einbildet, soll bitte erst einmal auch so komponieren. Dann reden wir weiter.
