I just can't describe what I feel each time I listen this song. It's so.. beautiful. As someone said before.. it makes me go out to do something different & change my life.

I love how the repeating last phrase comes gradually from that radio reverb voice to a more clean and close voice, giving emphasis to that sentence, becoming an incredible arrange for a simply beautiful song. Close to perfection.
I see dark at night. I also see flourescent light, reading light (angry, distracted reader), tv light, outdoor light (cigarettes). I agree, I see turquoise and purple (bruises, pearles, the glow from tv at night). Everyone is home. A bit chaotic, but also routine.
He idolizes her but cannot relate (roaches) and feels sorry. She lives where he cannot go and they are from different worlds.
The build up and guitar solo sound a lot like something I heard on a tape from Vinyard once (a Christian worship music maker type group). Swear to god, it sounded so much like this song.
I see completely different colors. I see dark with the color of sunlight beams coming in into a somber valley. Like at sunset. The voice alternates between pale gold and silver for me.
forgot to say in a city. an abandoned one. probably has something to do with the lyrics, but it's "looked" that way from the moment I heard the first three notes of the piano. That set the mood. From there, sunset. Like something is almost over. Old age, ending, sadness. That's what the sound conveys to me, and that might be why I see "sunset" in lonely darkness colors.

I'm very pleased to see that there are so many people here that appreciate real music. Listening to his songs is always a very good experience. One of the true greats in music.

It's truly unbelievable how good this guy is. Everytime I listen to Love is Hell in it's entirety, I'm reminded all over again what a genius he is. One of the greatest albums of all time and one of the most meaningful as well. This album is literally so good it's almost scary........fucking amazing.
@antifafubel consider it on vinyl (7 inch). It's waaaaaaay better. Buy a few bottles of wine and crank up the stereo w/ the 7 inch and let the night roll away..
