"Tantamount" to a declaration is just a fancy way to label the reality that occurred, congress conjuring another way to engage in hostilities without going through the constitutional declaration process. And it just reenforces a bad precedent that the executive branch can decide when to wage war. We've hardly formally declared war since ww2.

I have known Ilario for the past five years. He and my nephew, who was also in Iraq, have been good friends for many years. I have sat with Ilario, prayed with Ilario, and listened as he spoke to family and friends. He doesn't waltz into a room to attempt to make it all about him, but desires to make it all about what is right for our country. I witnessed him speak to a man who was not a Pantano supporter and at the end of the long conversation, he was. Again, he's the real deal!

@lilybeeplily Yes they were unnecessary wars I agree. But you do have some of your facts wrong. In Iraq we were welcomed, with open arms by the Shia majority. It was the sunnis and the religious extremists who had a problem and fought us. And there were stockpiles of chemical weapons in Iraq, as well as Al Queada training camps funded by Saddam for attacks in Turkey and Kurd regions of Iraq and exporting world wide.
