So i cook a lot and after chopping veggies what do I do with the left over ends? just throw them in the tumbler? I know not to use acid fruit n dairy products, but shredded paper I can use right?
@niecytheboss since no one has answered you, i guess i will. but ya you can just throw all the scraps in there and shredded paper is perfectly fine, you can even put newspaper in there if you want to.
@ovetsred5 I don't recommend metal drums. They degrade quickly and they are most commonly used to store chemicals and other non-enviro friendly contents.
I've become a total compost junkie these days (I find myself looking for items to add to the compost) but I'm not a big fan of waiting all season for that nutrient rich soil! This looks easy to build and I have the perfect space for it. Thanks for demonstrating how easy it is to make. You really do rock the garden! Chris
This is crazy. I have been wanting to make one of these so many times. I simply will NOT pay money for a commercial tumbler. Thank you ROCKSTAR for the instructions!
What did you use to cut the little "windown" in your compst bin? Can I use a nife?

Don't forget that the bugs and worms are a critical component to the composting process.

Any tips on where to find these food grade barrels on the cheap?
TeamAlinerny 10 months ago
@TeamAlinerny The best bet is to contact the local bottling company (Coke or Pepsi). They usually have them for a really cheap price.

@MaureTea Thanks! Food Grade barrels are readily available and very inexpensive. They can be used for homemade rain barrels too (video coming soon).
