Zemf2005, you got it nailed! It is exactly the same logic here and we must remember how these highways got built in the first place. Not enough has been said about the role that Robert Moses played in all this. I have often wondered what the connection is between Jean Drapeau and Robert Moses: did they ever meet? Anyone know anything about possible connections, there?
Excellent video. I' just pissed off to see a 1960 concept for a 21th century transportation system. Stop this all car concept. I do not understand the stupid position of the MTQ, not moving from it's position despite everyone against them.
The expansion of the Turcot interchange is unbelievable and insane in 2010 . I do not want my tax dollars going in this disaster.
Bravo! Very informative. This brings to mind a similar debate which happened back in the 60's, down here in New York City, where Robert Moses wanted to bring the expressway through the city, in the name of "Progress". Fortunately, through the efforts of people who understood the importance of neighborhoods in the city, these plans were stopped, and we now have Soho & Greenwich Village to enjoy. To expand the freeway system in existing diverse neighborhoods especially now is naive, to insane.
Où sont QS et Khadir là-dedans, puisque la balle est dans la cour du gouvernement?
