@KevinLounsberry Which every way you want it too, but i took that ugly thing off and re-installed a new acrylic.....the Armor Plus has enough airflow you don't need that fan on the window.
Hey, I'm having trouble with this case and I was wondering if you could give me some advice. My first build with everthing completely inside the case results in the motherboard not getting any power so I believe the case is creating some kind of short. With everything assembled outside the case, I got everything up and running (Win7-64, SSD, DVD, etc.) with no problem. I have a thread open on the ASUS P8P67 Deluxe forum describing my problem (pics) but I hoped you could chime in too. Thanks.
im lookin at buying this case and putting in an i7 2600K with dual 6970's with 8GB DDR3 @ 1866MHz. Im also going liquid cooling... Anyone know what fans i need to but extra? I'd like to fill all the possible fan slots for optimal temperature.
@GranTurismo5C Depend on the Wc'ing setup you go with...some rad need high flow 2000rpm or higher with good static pressure and some only require lower CFM with moderate static pressure. And for the other area's that you may install fans look for ones that have high CFM with low dBA. The Xigmatex fans I installed in this build are excellent with high CFM @ a low dBA.
Just bought one and fitted it out with an ASUS Extreme II Gene mobo - a Gigabyte Odin 800W Pro psu and a Palit GTX285 2GB graphics card... everything fit easily, with room to spare Mine is the LCS model and the cooling system was simple to fit and works a treat.
The only difficulty I had was explaining to the bride why we needed one! LOL
These are awesome cases.... 10 out of 10 from me.. cheers
Okay, this case is huge, i mean really really huge. I just got mine from Newegg and only paid 154.99 :O it is totally worth it, there are quite a few plastic parts on the inside, but if careful, they will last forever. Definitely buy this case!!! Oh yeah, good job :p
@MrSpore15 Yeah it's not a bad case, and yes there is a ton of room. Couple things I have done or will do as soon as time permits, is 1st remove the tool less PCIe holder and just use standard screws, and the other for me was to replace the acrylic widow and get rid of the ugly 230mm fan on the side panel. The other things that I did to the case I think I covered in videos.
I was wondering if you might have any ideas as to what colours I should use for the sliver Armour+ (VH6000swa) I'm picking up on tuesday? Although, I must admit, I'm having second thoughts about the silver, I think I might like the black better (not too sure).
I plan to use much the same as you except the motherboard, graphics and a little change to the hard-drives.
I'm going to use an SSD for the O.S and one game (the main game that I'm playing) I'm also going to put up to four 1.5TB Barracuda's. I'm going to use the GA-X58A-UD7 (maybe, the jury is still out on that) and 2x GTX 295's or maybe 2x ATI Radeon™ HD 5970's, but they're a bit pricey (well, so are the GTX's for that matter). lol.
Sounds great, nice setup. Couple thing I like to recommend if I could. Make sure you buy a large enough SSD to hold your OS, 1 game and any other programs. I have over 40GB already on mine and that's with no games.
Also for backup I would look at Segates 2TB 6gbps(expensive) or look at WD 2TB Caviar's, (very fast) or use a Drobo (like me) so it's separated from the PC. and final now that were so close to the 300's I would wait if possible and see if prices drop on 295
I'm looking at a Kingston 128GB SSD V Series SNV125-S2BN/128GB (not sure if it has TRIM support though). Yeah, I also like the Caviar's. The Seagate 2TB are VERY expensive, but maybe (we'll have to wait and see). By the time I'm ready to by the GTX 295's, they'll be a dime a dozen. lol.
Yeah I did, but OCZ is still an unknown down here in Aus. I'll have to have a look at those reviews for myself, and actually, the Barracuda 2TB ST32000641AS SATA 6Gb/s Hard Drives have come down in price, I might have to get those instead. ;)
Yeah, I ended up taking the SWA. Looked heaps better that the BWS. Looks like blue will be the go for the mesh and maybe the interior as well, or matt black for the Interior, I'm not too sure yet. I will post some vids, but I'll need to buy a camera first. lol.
ya, I agree, cases just don't look as sweet unless their painted on the inside. you did see my vids on it being painted, turned out sweet, also something the manufacture would not have done, blk with anodized red
Nice vids you are making on your channel - already subscribed it :) In some of your vids you are doing a voiceover - please change your microphone. The quality of the voice is very bad - like it is dampening by something and thus it's harder to understand, especially for non-native English speakers :)
Thanks for the feedback, I'll look into a better mic. I know the voiceover on this vid is muffled. I thought it sounded to harsh when recording, so I covered the mic with my hand. I also did a partial voiceover on Cable Mgmt. part 2. I'm wondering if it sounds the same. When I play that one back on my computer it's not to bad. If you can check it out and let me know, because if it sounds like shit, I will buy a new mic.
Yeah, I already have watched that video before this - it's the same thing with your voice. Before you will buy a new mic, try to tweak its settings a bit. 1. turn the recording volume down a little; 2. turn off any external source of sound as well as voice pass-through from mic to speakers; 3. play with mic settings in audio panel of your driver - sometimes you have options like noise and echo cancellation etc.; 4. try to record from different distance from the mic. I hope it will help.
Thanks for the suggestions, I will give them a try. The mic I'm using is a $40. karaoke (Samson M15) that I picked up on the spur of the moment, just to do the voice over. I really don't know anything about recording audio. So your suggestions are a real big help
I don't know much about recording audio too, but from a little experience that I had in the past with it, maybe those tips will help. I know also that not every mic is capable of be directly connected to the computer. Sometimes the electrical parameters of mic is not compatible with sound card and that can cause a distortion of the sound or even damage. So maybe go to a computer store and buy good mic dedicated for use in computers (after you try those tips I gave earlier).
ya that sound good. I have this plugged into a Creative Sound Blaster Elite Pro, which has an external control center. But I understand what your saying, that the mic may not be compatible with computers. Wondering if the settings in Vegas Pro have something to do with it.
I was casually using Pinnacle Studio for a simple DVD montage - if you are doing voiceover check what recording quality are set in the program. Sometimes it's the lowest quality available, like 11KHz 8bit mono - try to max them - maybe it will give clearer sound. I just hope it helps. I'm using standard Logitech computer mic connected to Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Gold and for my use it gives acceptable sound quality.
thanks bro, I appreciate your help. I'll look into it this weekend. working on my next post, with work and all, I don't have much time. my next vid will be painting the Armor case. So far it looks Amazing!
Does that big fan on the clear panel pull air in or push it out?

Those Tt exhaust fans are nuts! For how small and quiet they are, they sure move a lot of air.
TheCrazyFinn 7 months ago
@TheCrazyFinn I took them all off and replaced them with Xigmatek fans.
WestCoastMods 6 months ago
@WestCoastMods Xigmateks are good too, but I wouldn't have replaced the rear exhaust, because it's really good, imo.
I did put a Xigmatek eXtreme Silent 120mm on my latest build. It serves as a side intake, and is the most quiet fan in the machine.

The best thing about the VH6000SWA is that it's all aluminum whereas the VH6000BWS is made from steel which makes it heavier.
If you paint the interior and the mesh steel it will look pretty nice.
hope to see some vids

Yeah the reason I mentioned the Seagates is because with the mobo you chose you'll want to benefit from the Sata 3.0 6gbps interface.
Also have you looked at the OCZ Vertex Turbo SSD OCZSSD2-1VTXT120G review i have read have been pretty good.
