Mike Patrick is just another member of the "good 'ol boy" system in announcing that Brent Musberger is also a part of. He's bad enough, but when he's paired with Dick Vitale in basketball, it's like two old fogies reminiscing about their fraternity days.

Every sentence out of Mike Patrick's mouth has to be some hyperbolic statement. He can't just say,"That was a great shot,"; he has to say,"That was an utterly unbelievable shot."

His commentary on the Clemson-Duke basketball game last night was terrible. He kept calling Clemson's coach Brad Brownwell and Brad Brownlee when his name is really Brownell. He messed it up the entire game before he finally corrected it with like 5 minutes left.

Funny!I was watching the game too. America was thinking what he was thinking. Britney? The media is obsessed with Britney and so is this announcer. Next broadcast: OJ? What he is he thinking? America is obsessed with OJ and so is he. Day dreaming sidetracks many people even this announcer.

It was a joke.

It was an OT game between two ranked teams...probably the most intense that a sporting event could possibly get. So Mike was "making fun" of the fact that it was so intense and so he made a comment about something that he considers irrelevant and boring...like all the talk about Britney Spears that was going on at the time.

The fact that he said "Hey, I have an important question..." makes it even more obvious that he was joking.
