Thanks healthsavant all five videos are nice. I was struck by where the tobacco is as he sings. I have seen very similar things in N Am native use of sacred pipe and tobacco rolled in corn husk for prayer, as in the Native American (peyote) Church: the tobacco is a vehicle and even a kind of sacrifice to carry and give life to the prayer and words of blessing.
ayahuasca's cool but too freaky and hard to make- i'd just reccomend trippin on morning glory seeds, you can find them on eBay for only like $5 an ounce, theyre like LSD but more mellow and much less prone to causing bad trips
very beautiful & spiritual singing. it's funny how you can spot the resemblances in indian, native american, inuit (eskimo) and even in african pygmy music .. i guess there is some sort of a "collective musical sub-consciousness" after all.
The use of specific tones, inflection, and cadence are, in this situation, much more important that the words used.
Also, He is not smoking a ¨spliff´´ or a ´´roach´´ that is a mapacho, or a cigarette of jungle tobacco. Mapacho smoke is used in many types of ceremonies in the Amazon. It is regarded and a cleansing tool, to clear bad energy, and flush away any bad spirits.
Greetings all, Marcial is singing about strengthening the Arkana, your defense system around your body. With Icaros, (songs) shipibo´s create an arkana or forcefield of protection. This can be for an individual or whole group. The theme of many shipibo songs is loosely based on this principle. Also, the way shipibo´s sing, they use sound and tone many times more than the words themselves to create an experience, elicit an emotion, or initiate a cleansing or healing.
He is singing look at my shirt it was made in a sweat shop in China. Watch me hold this roach close to my lips. Monkey money weeeee I love those zany monkeys.

Extremely relaxing and uplifting. I have always found that native american singing is calming and transcending.
Thanks.
