  • I hope Ian Thornley never stops making music.

  • CANADA"S NEXT TOP HARD ROCK BAND

my space / brother my enemy

  • the lead singer is handsome!!!!! also a good tune!!!

  • Now that's a horrible generalization man, just cuz we have some dumb asses on our end, doesn't mean you have to sink to their level

  • Who hates lag? Well, I do!

  • This reminds me of Christmas 2004.

I wish I could go back in time.

  • ya this is a great bang i cant believe that nickelback did better than them

  • Nickelback should have sticked with their old stuff. They're too generic nowadays with their music.

  • Hey Check out Monday Rose

    They might open for Thornley

Search "Monday Rose Searchlights" to hear them

  • This is song is awesome...I cant stop playing it..Anyone know if you can get it for RockBand?

  • Don't know but stop listening to it so often man, you'll get tired of it and it'll stay like that for a long time so listen to it only when the moment is right - that way you won't burn out your songs.

  • Wow all you people hating on Thornley are ridiculous.. Get a freaking life, seriously.. And what's with this whole hating Canadians attitude? You guys are ignorant morons, just shut the hell up and enjoy the music.. and if ya cant do that, then get the hell out of here!! Sheesh..

  • Can't you accept people's opinions of a band or a song?

  • Amen bro.

  • dudes, how about we enjoy the song or take yourself some where else on youtube, everyone has different opinions but no where does it say that you MUST share those opinions

  • your a JERK!!!

  • Ahh I remember Jill when I hear this song.

  • Acordning to Thornleys' website they will release a new CD feburary the 10th. There's a singel which will feature in the new album called "Make Believe" up on the webside, I Think it was great! :)

  • its not the same thing to me. Honestly, its kinna sad to me to see ian go from such a soulfull project to a more radio friendly sound that is so washed out by the whole 'nickleback' rock. which i personally cant stand, just the waste product of late 90's grunge fadeaway. Im not impressed by thornly. they sound like 100% of the songs that get played on top 40 radio. just because its popular doesnt make it good. ill prefer to remember Big Wreck.

  • hell ya big wreck was were it was at this is still a good tune but ya not BIG WRECK

  • You fondle your mom's breasts tooo hard

  • why do you hate canadians so bad?

    did one rape you?

  • You Guys know what kinds of amps ian uses?

  • kid's just settle down and touch your nuts

  • i adore this song =]

  • well...I know this much,.....cant wait for his next production!....

  • good quality me ---. but i like this song so whatever.

  • that was one sweet wristband he was wearing!

  • ....Okay this is a Thornley. not Nickelback...so hush. They play to different people. Nickelback are more for for people who like pop but say they like rock music. And Thornley. well He's been kicking ass Since the 90's and still gonig strong. tho he keeps saying he's coming out with a new cd...which i have yet to see

  • he says begin 2009

but he's been saying that for 3 years now -_-

  • stop bitching around about this song, it's good and just stay at that.

  • for f*cks sake, you lot compare Ian to Chris Cornell, and now Nickelback? Hahaha losers, at this moment i'm glueing my laptop together. Cause when this song came on, it went flyin'through the air. Thornley ROCKS, anybody disagrees doesn't know sh*t.

  • It pisses me off when people chat shit about Nickelback, yeh photograph and if everyone cared, savin me, rockstar etc. were big, but in my opinion pretty shit u have to listen to their old albums and songs they havent released they are so much hardcore than the shit they let ou, the long road was a well good album, plus state and silver side up once istened to cos people only listen to their second most recent, they r pretty talented people.

  • Anything Nickelback has ever written all sounds the EXACT same.

    These guys however...are killer

    So good <3

  • this song has unbelievable chord progression in the pre chorus & the chorus.. the starting riff is also very driven.. nice!!

  • Nickelback is the biggest selling band to come out of Canada, out-selling The Tragically Hip and The Headstones from Kingston, and other great Canadian bands like this. Nickelback is very radio-stadium tour friendly pop band, and they are over-played on American top 40 radio (an experience all you Canadians can avoid with your industry because radio stations have to play a certain percentage of Canadian music--and there's a bunch of rock/indie radio stations--no such thing as clear channel)

  • check your facts again buddy, rush for example is and has been far bigger than nickelback to come out of Canada

  • there's to many to count that have come from Canada: billy talent, finger eleven, sum 41, 3 days grace, theory of a deadman, the tea party, etc.

  • your wrong man, im sorry... I do love rush tho and nickleback

  • your a fuckin idiot stop talking like you know shit

  • why are people so rude... pathetic...

  • ur gay

  • i didnt know chris cornell had a brother

  • and now for some realism...

Kroeger has a HARDON for Ian Thornley and was a HUGE fan of Big Wreck, which is why when Kroeger's label and bank account took off, he immediately backed Thornley.

However, don't take my word for it, you should just keep speculating because all of you have such an in-depth knowledge of the Canadian Music Industry.

  • Big Wreck went 4x platinum with the album, "In Loving Memory Of" which was released in 1997. Nickelback's success did not hit until spring/summer of 1999 with the song "Leader of Men" off of the album, "The State". (Nickelback did release a self-recorded album, called "Curb", I think, in 1996, but it was akin to a demo) So for those of you debating, Ian was around and making music long before Nickelback... (All dates are US, I can't speak for Canada, but I'm pretty sure its about the same)

  • hola big wreck is from the mid late ninetys when did nickleback come out

  • wow neat

    im depressed 5s

  • And yes Ian Thornley helped on Nickelbacks Silver Side Up on the song Where Have the Good Times Gone, he does the acoustic + slide.

  • 2:54 nice move :P

  • SAY NO! TO NICKELBACK! seriously, are u mental man? they sound nothing alike. big wreck are versatile, and nickelback are repetative...give your head a shake, twit.

  • listen to "all the right reasons" by them and you'll see what I mean... ;)

  • Nickelback aren't repetitive. I bet you only listened to 2 of their songs, and no more.

  • sounds like nickelback

  • Correction:

    Nickelback sounds like them.

  • No, nickelback came first. In fact chad kroeger (or however you spell it) hooked Thornley up with his producer.

  • You sure? I heard the opposite, Ian helped do something with Silverside Up back when he was in Big Wreck :O

    Not knocking Nickelback, btw.

  • Lol I dunno, I just read the iTunes review of the album, and that's what I saw... lol

  • Nickelback used to open for Big Wreck. Case closed.

  • at 0:13 he reminds me of george stromboulopoulos :D

  • I wish this song would come to Rock Band DLC. Would be awesome!!

  • ...................................

    .

  • I love the bass guitar in this song!

  • Thornley rocks! Can't wait for his new music!

  • hey awsome.. glad to hear they are comming up with some new material. but when?

  • Sad to say but I just read in Wikipedia that it's been pushed back again to early 2009...Ugh!

  • big ol piece of CRAPOLA

  • his stupid ex band threw him out on the road but hopefully he will rise again and come again. and become thornley. screw you big wreck. big assholes.

  • Yeh, I am bummed! I knew within 5 seconds of listening to "Falling to Pieces" that the CD would just rock. I never get tired of listening to it.

  • i love how they have that linkin park-ish sound to them!

  • best song ever...

  • these guys put on a kick ass show. Ian Thornley's kind of rude, but the drummer's awesome. That creep can drink too, lol.

  • I Play this song on Project Gotham Racing 3 I listen to it over and over again

  • this song is so awesome!

  • Huh, since I played Project Gotham Racing 3, I love this song.

  • saw them live, awesome.

they got a new bassist and drummer though

  • Ian's Guitar in this video.. what is it?. He uses it a lot.

  • I am in this video! I don't think that you can see me though. Background fan...

  • sweet... i cant wait for their new CD to come out within 2 months

  • wait, is Thornley a Canadian band??? cuz then they would own even more thanthey already do

  • I beleave so they where at Rockstock which I heard was awsome.

  • yeah it was

  • Sekou Lumumba is a really great drummer. Seeing him play with Ben Kenney was really awesome. Nice dude too.

  • i think thornley is a great band and is not a failure its a really really really really*says really 1000 times* good band!

  • Thornley - please come again

  • No.... It even says in the video "Come Again".

  • Bring back Big Wreck, the best rock band of the last 15 years. Forget this commercialized Nickleback wanna be garbage. BIG WRECK RULED.

Sorry but Thornley was a failure.

  • you're a goof nickleback sucks

  • Nickelback doesn't just suck, they suck balls. I wouldn't listen to them if someone paid me a nickel and rubbed my back.

  • nickel back dont suck balls, they suck donkey balls

  • wasn't this pushed out when he was with big wreck?

  • Best Canadian band ever...fuck nickelback and default

  • these guys haul

  • this band hauls

  • Great band! Thornley ROCK!

  • best song ever! Canada is awesome! We know how to rock!!! GO CANADA!!! WE ROCK!!

  • Yes We Du!!

  • Not really...Living in Montreal sucks...The only thing here are the concerts, night life is a no go for me (underage)

  • yeah im barely outside of Kamloops and we dont get oo many concerts there but i saw Sum 41 and Finger11 in octorber and Alice cooper is coming to

yeeah not much for me either im only 15

  • cant forget club supersex, they never check age

  • Love it , love it , love it *_*

  • They're now my absolute favorite band. And I can't agree more, sort of Chris Cornell, but a bit better in my own opinion. Love to see him head Velvet Revolver!

  • He´s great...a little bit of Chris Cornell. The looks and the sound of his voice too. Heard of him, because Duff McKagan mentioned him in an interview. Maybe he´s the new singer from Velvet Revolver ?! We´ll see...

  • lol thats sweet,,, im friends with the bass player :P :P

  • That would be sweet...but I also heard ex Adema lead singer Marky Chavez was also considred. He apparently postponed his solo project just to try for the spot in VR.

We'll see what happens soon hopefully.

  • What do you guys think of Ian as the new lead singer of Velvet Revolver? According to Duff in a recent interview, he is under strong consideration.

  • i love his voice^^ this song is good, he was part of big wreck right???....i liked them too

  • they gotta get this song on an NHL game

  • THORNLEY ROCKS I SO WANT THE C/D

    :)

  • Thornley/Big Wreck rules.

  • i love this song this is my favorate song that they made!!!!

    :) ROCK ON !!!!

  • Tavis is awesome !!!!!

  • dude thornley are amazing but i swear he looks and even sounds like chris cornell!!

is it just me or does anyone else think that???

  • hahahha! Im couldn't agree more! I always thought that aswell, both artists kick ass!

  • if chris cornell had a chubby face and plucked his eyebrows too far apart

  • they're F'n awesome!!

  • My favorite song! GO CANADA!!

  • The guitarist wiv long hair is my 2nd cousin. His name is Tavis Stanley

  • Yeah and hes my brother 2nd removed from my fathers side!

  • father's brother's mother..

so that means it's his father's mother?

    numpty :L

  • I'm from Holland, and I never heard of big wreck and Thornley, ...but a Canadian girlfriend educated me...just to get a hold of those cd's I married her, Thornley should play here in the coming summer, on the big festivals, like pinkpop, they would BLOW metallica ,and bands like that who are playing there ,away. really a special band, if I hear one guitar chord from the start of a song you KNOW it's Thornley, rare these days when most bands sound alike.cannot wait for the new CD!

  • did you just disrepect metallica:| i love this band but they are NOTHING compared to metallica. metallica are gods

  • Ok sorry for the comparing, your right I hate it when people do that to make a point, again sorry, just wanted to express in words what a great band Thornley is. with a sound thats unique in rock today, one of a kind. But ehm..not one band is made of gods, there can be but only one, if any....

  • Thornley....thaats myy

  • Big Wreck was cooler, but Thornley is kicking a lot of ass too.

  • Thornley: makes my nipples HARD!! DAMN FINE...and talented.

  • giddyup!

  • Awesome!

  • This video fucking rocks!!!!....Thornley get your ass down to the states and I'll see every show!!!!

  • amazing

  • the base guitarist of thornley (cale gontier) is 3 days grace lead singer adam gontiers cousin. Just throwing that out there.

  • Thornley Rocks!!!! I'm dying for his new music to come out! Please bring it on! Come again already:)

  • Has anyone actually listened to these 2 live? Ian Thornley is much better live. I am a huge fan of both but its the flat out truth. Also, they don't look alike at all.

  • IAN MAKE MORE MUSIC.... please :)

  • ian > chris

  • Thornley is fucking amazing thats allthere needs to be said.

  • i haven't heard this song in such a long time, i love it!

  • PERFECT band

  • hehe i love them

    BEASTS

  • perfect

  • This band never got the play that I personally believe they deserved.

  • this is the shit......thornley rules......

  • this song is awesome =)

  • This was the first Thornley song I heard. One listen and I was hooked.

  • yes i saw them live once and i was hooked. then i saw them again. lol

  • i love all rock classic, old deathmeatl and so on, but i must say i fucking love this song it was stuck in my head all friggin day so glad i can now favorite it hey anyone know where there from?

  • hey Ian is from toronto originally from niagara area pretty sure , his old band big wreck were based out of the U.S. but yeah he is from canada.

  • If you don't like the song, great for you. But don't rip on Thornley because your tastes in music are different.

  • Jesus Hesus Christ, Ian Thornley is so freaking hot.

  • follow his career, amazing!!! chris who? this shit was happening long before..

  • Agreed. His bands have fallen under the radar of the US corporate hit machine, and not many of us have heard of him before. I was lucky enough to work a show in NY when "Oaf" was popular.

The sound and showmanship has hooked me since.

    Great stuff.

  • I love how people are aruging about him and Chris Cornell, frankly, other than the hair, the two look nothing like each other and both are great in their own right. Both Big Wreck and Thornley are amazing bands, Ian Thornley is an amazing performer (I had the pleasure of seeing him live about two or three years ago). And Soundgarden and Audioslave are both amazing bands. I don't think anyone is trying to mimick anyone's style, and why should they? They're awesome as they are!

  • I completely agree. Very smart words, if I say so myself. I LOVE Big Wreck's sound, and just recently discovered Thornley. Totally diggin it. As far as Soundgarden, I have a deep love of oldschool, but the newschool is fresh too!

  • ha ha ha. so many tough guys on youtube.

  • i didnt say that!

  • dude that isnt live

  • meanest live performance ive seen in a while

  • Ey I like that

  • good song:)

  • This song & video kicks ass! Thornley 4eva!

  • There's a reason why Alex Lifeson wanted him as one of the 6 members The Big Dirty Band. He's prolly the best post-grunge guitarist from Canada.

  • Ian Thornley is possibly the most under rated guitarist/songwriters out there..Time to give this man his props! he fuckin rocks!

  • great song!

  • good song

  • he does look somewhat like chris cornell , the singer i mean

  • Who else would "Chris Cornell" be???!!!...LOL!

  • i heard this on project gotham racing, loved it, downloaded it :D happy days.

  • THORNLEY!...Get your ass back on tour!!!

  • thornly rocks

  • rock on! XD

  • this song is fuckin incredible

  • good tune/album. I hope the new album pops soon

  • this song is sick nastey i have their cd ooooo yeaaaa im emo

  • really cool

  • Thornley is awesome. I was first introduced to Ian Thornley when he was in Big Wreck, also a great band.
