what a fuckin shit ass band, for all u idiots comparing them to Nickleback thats not a compliment nickleback is a fukin joke and so are they nobodys... this is a fukin half asses version of what a front man trying to be chris cornell looks like and for fans of this band ur ither fucken retarded or canadian ither or theres no real difference
Acordning to Thornleys' website they will release a new CD feburary the 10th. There's a singel which will feature in the new album called "Make Believe" up on the webside, I Think it was great! :)
its not the same thing to me. Honestly, its kinna sad to me to see ian go from such a soulfull project to a more radio friendly sound that is so washed out by the whole 'nickleback' rock. which i personally cant stand, just the waste product of late 90's grunge fadeaway. Im not impressed by thornly. they sound like 100% of the songs that get played on top 40 radio. just because its popular doesnt make it good. ill prefer to remember Big Wreck.
....Okay this is a Thornley. not Nickelback...so hush. They play to different people. Nickelback are more for for people who like pop but say they like rock music. And Thornley. well He's been kicking ass Since the 90's and still gonig strong. tho he keeps saying he's coming out with a new cd...which i have yet to see
for f*cks sake, you lot compare Ian to Chris Cornell, and now Nickelback? Hahaha losers, at this moment i'm glueing my laptop together. Cause when this song came on, it went flyin'through the air. Thornley ROCKS, anybody disagrees doesn't know sh*t.
It pisses me off when people chat shit about Nickelback, yeh photograph and if everyone cared, savin me, rockstar etc. were big, but in my opinion pretty shit u have to listen to their old albums and songs they havent released they are so much hardcore than the shit they let ou, the long road was a well good album, plus state and silver side up once istened to cos people only listen to their second most recent, they r pretty talented people.
Nickelback is the biggest selling band to come out of Canada, out-selling The Tragically Hip and The Headstones from Kingston, and other great Canadian bands like this. Nickelback is very radio-stadium tour friendly pop band, and they are over-played on American top 40 radio (an experience all you Canadians can avoid with your industry because radio stations have to play a certain percentage of Canadian music--and there's a bunch of rock/indie radio stations--no such thing as clear channel)
Kroeger has a HARDON for Ian Thornley and was a HUGE fan of Big Wreck, which is why when Kroeger's label and bank account took off, he immediately backed Thornley.
However, don't take my word for it, you should just keep speculating because all of you have such an in-depth knowledge of the Canadian Music Industry.
Big Wreck went 4x platinum with the album, "In Loving Memory Of" which was released in 1997. Nickelback's success did not hit until spring/summer of 1999 with the song "Leader of Men" off of the album, "The State". (Nickelback did release a self-recorded album, called "Curb", I think, in 1996, but it was akin to a demo) So for those of you debating, Ian was around and making music long before Nickelback... (All dates are US, I can't speak for Canada, but I'm pretty sure its about the same)
SAY NO! TO NICKELBACK! seriously, are u mental man? they sound nothing alike. big wreck are versatile, and nickelback are repetative...give your head a shake, twit.
They're now my absolute favorite band. And I can't agree more, sort of Chris Cornell, but a bit better in my own opinion. Love to see him head Velvet Revolver!

Thornley is awesome. I was first introduced to Ian Thornley when he was in Big Wreck, also a great band.
