  • Wow! This is like my theme song! I've lived in wilderness. Put my dukes up to big cats, slept out under the stars, ate green briers for supper, made my friction fires, chipped out my flint points, brain tanned my hides, tracked animals in the dark by feel alone, felt the presence of modern man invade the woods by inner feelings I shared with animals, indeed I am truly primitive. Let's go primitive!

  • I'm very proud of dad :)

  • Comment removed

  • it looks like kevin bacon has a side project

  • I was a huge fan until this.

  • This was a low point. I'll take "Dustbowl" any day over this.

  • This is so strange... It's like a glam-ish version of Godflesh :) Funny but still very nice. And I know Justin was once their drummer. Thanks for this video.

  • glam? you mean electronic?

  • @TheNewMusicNetwork Actually I realize now that "glam" is not the proper word... I meant glam in terms of early Cure or Duran Duran playing a Godflesh song lol... I mean look at the haircuts and the whole image :) It's not glam, but more like new wave/dark wave stuff... Anyway nevermind :)

  • glam is like david bowie or something. i like new wave, it's more punk and german element.

  • This song is stuck in my head, but that's all good.

  • The bass playerz mi daddy xxx

  • Really?

  • @vargulv well thats what he told mee

  • Great sound and very creative. I think the music was very pure. Very cool.

  • nice music, but the vocalist has almost no expressive force whatsoever in his performance

  • charming!

  • Head of David are confirmed as playing the 'Supersonic Festival' in Birmingham 24th July to 26th July. There name is up first on the poster!

  • Any idea if they're doing any other dates?

  • Yup

  • nice find

  • oh he is not

  • isn't that halford

  • Doesn't this song sound a little like Rapeman's song Steak and Black Onions?

  • Its a bit better then most Godflesh.

  • Try some Loop and Skullflower...Godflesh will never sound the same again.

  • other good drum machine bands. Oil seed Rape, Big Black

  • wihtout Big Black there wouldn't BE Godflesh or Skullflower.

    Glad someone else agrees.

  • This is very true, But it all starts somewhere who knows who was first to pick up the guitar and match it to a Drum machine instead of keyboard and a Drum machine. Its far to late for me to even think about music roots, But one thing is , at least you only have to punch the drum machine once for them to remember the beat

  • Throbbing Gristle were before any of them.

  • kraftwerk before them

  • @InterestingSpecimen If Big Black invented the drum machine, you might have a point there.

  • except killing joke did it first.

  • @TheNewMusicNetwork You already went all the back to Kraftwerk, what the fuck is the point of bringing up Killing Joke at this point? Idiot.

  • @Druffmaul <----------FUCKING MORON,

The point is to show that is where the keyboards and drum machines were being made by german artists you illiterate cock polisher.

so buy some more neurons, LOSER.

    case closed

  • @TheNewMusicNetwork - I don't need more neurons, I need you to write intelligibly. Because you still haven't explained at all why you bothered to bring up Killing Joke (UK/late 70s) when you already went back to Kraftwerk (Germany/early 70s). After you invoke Kraftwerk, it make NO sense whatsoever to bother bringing up KJ.

  • without killing joke there is no head of david.

  • @InterestingSpecimen you mean without the Swans there would be no Godflesh.

  • The only thing I understand is that you are totally blind and can't see a masterpiece if it's just in front of you.

  • I totaly agree!!

  • It was their last album as the vocalist did not want to continue. The guitarist and bass player still keep in touch and now and again get together to rehearse. I'll find out if there is any new material in the pipeline.

  • SmasherDevourerHD, a very good comment! I thought Seed State was a great album and was the next step to take on their road. Unfortunately it was their last (but not due to sales). Would you out there want to hear new material from Head of David?

  • Thanks! Of course I would like to hear something new from Head of David. Poor thing they split up. By the way, do you know why this was their last album?

  • I really don't know why this song gets so many bad comments. I mean, of course it's fundamentally different from LP or Dustbowl, but I like Seed State too, the electric sound just rules. And don't forget: Head of David was an Experimental Industrial Band! Their main goal was making music which the most people dislike. Or did you guys expect them to play the same noise 'til becoming elders? Definitely not.

  • It isn't getting bad comments 'cause it's different, it is because it sucks! This is not experimental industrial at all.. it's crappy radio-friendly pop music!

  • I lost track of Head of David before this came out. Can't say I blame myself.

  • dancefloor goth

well this sucks their old stuff is better

  • Head of David minus 'Dirty' Dave Cochrane = FASLE

  • And don't forget JK Flesh (aka Justin Broadrick), he played drums on Dustbowl!

  • the sound of a good band biting it

  • i think the main reason about there sound is cause Justin left, so they didnt have too much of a sound afterwards

  • Well, they were cool even before Justin joined.. I guess they just decided to sell out!

  • they did kinda start to sell out. that's why both Justin and the vocalist left. Still, I like this song; stoner rock-ish

  • Holy shit is that Rob Halford?

  • >XD!

  • I saw these guys in a club in Pittsburgh in 1991/2 - talked to them a bit, really down to earth dudes. The worst thing they ever did was use a drum machine. This album was really weak, you could tell they were trying to go a little more mainstream

  • "The worst thing they ever did was use a drum machine."

As opposed to having shitty drummers like Paul Sharp and JK Broadrick? The infectious, catchy rhythms on Seed State totally whoop the sparse thudding that those guys laid down. Broadrick is a good artist, but hiring him was a far bigger mistake musically than just using a machine (which actually sounds good, or at least fitting for an album like Seed State).

  • Songwriting was never their main strength, eh? At least Dustbowl had a powerful sound. This sounds a bit weak in comparison.

  • Ouch. That hurt. Goddamn, after 'Dustbowl' and 'LP' this band basically turned into a world of suck.

  • Head of David were awesome! When Dustbowl came out, for about 6 months I couldn't hear anything else but that LP! Does exist a video from dustbowl too?

  • holy shit.

    thanks man.

  • rare band

    i love them

  • Haha, cute clip! Reuben is still the number one influence on my vocals.

Glad you guys made a video!

  • The line up for the band in 1991 was:

    Stephen Reuben Boroughs - Vocals

    Eric Jurenovski - Guitars

Bipin Kumar - Bass/ Backing Vocals

  • Bibin is dat u?

  • thanks for that comment, I tried the edit app on here and cut the start out and then selected publish, but it doesnt seem to have worked! Do you know if you can upload over the original?

  • Cut of the first 30 secs and you're golden.
