I think the chinese players in the NBA in general are good in terms of the fundamentals of shooting and passing. It's when it gets to skills that involve the athletics attributes that they get hurt in. Like when he started in the NBA, yao got beat at jumpballs by shorter but much more athletic guys who had more hops. Yi Jianlin gets chewed up when he has to play D. Zhi-Zhi Weng was hardly what one would call a athletic big man. China seem to concentrated on fundamentals and size, not athletics.
