The flute adds an air of mystique and serenity to the piece...Although I like the piano version as well, the flute is hauntingly beautiful. Thank you so much for this variation.
I think the vibrato is a little excessive to be honest. To capture the feeling of the original piece I would have gone for a a more gentle tone. However, it is still beautifully played
I actually prefer this version to the version with piano, but that's probably because this is the first way I ever heard the piece played. We're often partial to what we hear first, y'know?
This exquisite piece was originally composed for piano, but has been beautifully interpreted using a flute, harp and viola. These instruments are perfect for the original texture and tessitura. A cello would be much too heavy in this setting, unless the flute were replaced by a violin perhaps. While there are some short chorale passages, it is mainly melody and accompaniment in the cantabile style. .
@musaelian agreed, it's beautiful but the flute doesn't have the warmth to carry through the warmth which is central to this 'reverie'. Sorry fluatists, still love you though <3.
Well, I would prefer a violin to a flute, but I still like the flute more than the piano.

Love the music....the warping of that beautiful picture kind of killed it for me, though, for some reason.

le immagini sono fluttuanti come la musica di debussy e creano equilibrio tra musica e movimento . molto bello.

Did debussy arrange this himself?

Hey, I played this for my solo at OMEA in 8th grade! I got a 1 :D
I played most of it an octave down, though.

im sorry if this offends anyone but i think the flute is a bit shrill, prefer the piano version.

I know exactly how you feel, the first version of a lot of pieces is the one that holds the standards for other versions.

If you go into 'my computer', it may be in the stored sample pictures that are available.
(ie picures, music, documents etc). I am not sure which sample pictures are chosen by each computer manufacturer. Worth a try)

I love this peace, but not with the flute. Sorry flute players, it's only an opinion

Don't you like the sounds of flute?
I like sounds of the pianos best in musical instruments.
But I like this arrangement about this music.
Anyway thank you for comment!
