Another comment, I took mine apart and you seem to have a blue foam on your hard drive to protect it from rubbing up against the bronze sheet on the green computer plate. Well I don't have that on mine, what a load of bs that's probably another reason my shit is fucked up.
my cretive zen vision: m has a flashing blue light when i try to charge it. should i try to disassemble it like you? if so, then what kind of battery do you use.

this was really dumb of me but i put scotch tape on the screen for a sreen protector and it took like a tent off the screen that isnt really noticeable but it did maybe someday i will replace the body of it
if you look on the toshiba website, under hardrives of 1.8" in size, you can find the one you seemed to have in your player. highest capacity on there is 80g though, although if other companys do them with the same dimensions, you could try that!
my zen just gone crazy, so i brought a new motherboard, now is great.

hi i used a pen knife , you could use anything thin enough to poke them out you can take it put without scratching it if your careful
