kinda same thing happened to me and my slash 4x4, my stock esc fried so i bought the mmp and then right when i plugged in batteries it fried called castle to complain they said it was my motor so now i have to spend another almost 100 on a motor and hope it works

Your ESC goes in channel 2, BUT!! The castle plug goes in upside down compared to the Traxxas plug. I put the Flux on my E maxx and it wouldn't do anything at first so I flipped the ESC plug around and it came on and was able to calibrate.

I feel ya bro. thats why when I went to my local hobby shop to get a brushless system for my slash, i went with vxl. the guy there told me that castle systems have had so many problems, not including they're super vulnerability to water. plus he told me that people have had major problems with gettin help from castle tech "support". but what does suck is my mini e-revo is currently in the same predicament as your e-maxx, so i feel ya man.

hey traxxas tuff. go to the "cheapbatterypacks" website, you can get 8.4v 5000mah batterys for i believe $47.50. i personally have had them for a while and they are awesome! hope that brings the battery cost down a bit.

also, check what version of the esc you got underneath its box.

umm, did you try trimming the throttle trim? or at least calibrating the esc- not computer programming it.

if your batteries blew up, you have a short in the system, which was probably due to incorrect soldering.

the esc should still work. go though the calibrating. solder one single connector onto the esc to get it working.

hey tarxxastuff be sure to buy the traxxas 2.4ghz i also had the same problem with the normal tq2 you get allot of interference and you cant calibrate it so i had to upgrade to 2.4ghz and now everything works

i install brushed to brushless ESCs alot in both my slash 2wd and 4x4.. when ever i just drop in, a brushed ESC with brushless ESC settings, it wont run.. same with brushless to brushed.. but hey, i may be wrong about brushless to brushless.
