Kind of strange transitioning Jaguar Paw to normal Rudy. All the emotion from the movie to some casual interview. Well, atleast his sexyness didn't change.
Wow, so many ignorant comments here. Ok first of all, this guy is NOT Mexican because he was not born in Mexico. He was born in Texas, which is in the US. Therefore, he's a US citizen. That's called Nationality, not race. His race is Native American. Again, a Native American can come from any country in the Americas because in every country there's people of different races. Seriously people, if you don't know the difference between the two, look them up. It's not that hard.
Rudy Youngblood is "Native American" born in Texas. He is of Cree, Comanche, and Yaqui Native American descent. No Mexicans, you can't "claim" him. As they say....Close, but no cigar.
@johnherrera305 ....whoever is "claiming" him to be Mexican is stupid. A Mexican person can be of any race because to be Mexican, you just have to be born there, just like someone born in the US is a US citizen. But race is something else. I think it's dumb how some people think that Mexican=Indian or mestizo. Very wrong. Just like to be from the US does not automatically mean you're white.....I'm not saying this to offend you or anything, I'm just agreeing with you and giving my opinion lol.
I read on nndb.com that he's Cree, Comanche, Yaqui and one-quarter African American (on his mother's side). But, doesn't matter what we are, the fact that the world has so many backgrounds in it makes the world more interesting, but we're all of the same blood and that's even bigger. I think he was awesome in Apocolypto and hope to see more of him. He can act! Plus, he is cute!
The ppl think he's Mexican think he is bc anyone w dark hair and dark skin are automtically considered Mexican....thts the ignorance and reality of ppl.
I heard in a interview that he is Indian. Why do people say he's mexican when he's never said so. Are mexicans trying to claim him cause he's good looking, has great manners, and is a rising star in hollywood.
@gungfu777 lol maybe there claiming him because mexicans are native to mexico. so native americans are pretty much the same race sooo and he dose look 100% mexican so i would claim as one of my people
I'm very happy that there young people around on this sacred mother earth that use their common sense and want to do something meaningful in their life.
He claims to be Commanche,Cree,& Yaqui. Well folks, the Yaqui's are MEXICAN
INDIANS just like the Tarahumara,Huastec,Maya,Otomi,Mixteca,Nahua,& Huichol.
There were also tribes from the north (USA) who lived in present day Mexico like the
Apaches,Kickapoo, and Tohono O'odam. This dude also has some Black in him too.And yes, there are Native American's here in the USA with Spanish surnames too.
I read these comments about race it is saddening that people have so much pride over where they came from, which in the case of race has nothing to do with where you go.
Unless you believe otherwise, all of mankind started in one place, and their offspring migrated to different parts of the world. The languages and cultures are very interesting as they represent the journey, yet where people are today is our history in the making. If anything, be proud of personal growth, not your race.
@CarlosMacMartin In Pre-Columbian America, there were people who didn't speak Spanish until the Europeans came over. Of course if you look at how the continents appear physically, you can see that the land was all connected at some point in time. Frankly, there's a lot more history to how people got here. It is lot to learn for people who want to know the truth.
@EdMagikTV Sure the continents were connected (Pangea).Unfortunately, humans
did not exist on the super continent at that time. And as we have seen through out much of human history a conquering nation assimilates another nation & imposes
much of it's religion,culture,& language.Finally,Mexicans are Native.
@CarlosMacMartin Ha! Does it mean that I can claim I'm Mexican, because I have Pre-Columbian heritage ancestry, yet, I'm sure the country of Mexico today would insist that I'm a U.S. American. Does part Mexican = Mexican?
@CarlosMacMartin Mexicans are a melting pot, many mexicans claim pure Native blood, but in reality only a DNA test can determine that. Ethnically, Mexico (a rough estimate) looks like this, starting by the largest group: Mestizos, Natives, Whites, people of Lebanese origin, Jews, people of chinese descent, Blacks (Afro-Mexicans) and other. Greetings!!!
@gospelnews123 Yes,it's definitely a melting pot! And that's the reason why I got my DNA test done. What amuses me is a guy like Rudy who was born in Texas,(like my mom and her parents),speaks fluent Spanish
and says he's not Mexican! What the hell? He claims to be have Yaqui who are among the numerous tribes of
@CarlosMacMartin Right, they have a point, Mexican is not a race, it's a nationality, that's why (technically) they're not Mexican if they weren't born in Mexico. But about Natives speaking Spanish, here in AZ the Mexican community has very close ties to Native American Nations, we gotta remember that Native tribes in what used to be Mexico were once under Spanish rule. Today, Tohono O'odham Nation extends into Mexico, that explains why some Natives speak Spanish. Greetings!
@EdMagikTV It's okay to have pride in where you came from. It's NOT okay to project that pride into putting down where another person came from. I'm proud in my race..being a human being. Race is just a social apparatus and nothing more. It has everything to do where you're going. Without having pride and remembering where you came from when you have no where to go. I understand your statement but don't agree to a certain degree.
@WilWaswatchingwhales I have seen way too many arguments and fights over someone's pride. People get boastful and not humble. It's one thing to be happy about who you are, your culture and traditions, but we all are humans, so in that respect, we're all the same. What we are without the skin, without the flesh, the inner self that the eye can never see, that even we could never see, has no need for pride on an exterior level.
@EdMagikTV its not saddening when people have so much pride of where they came from, what is saddening is how people conduct themselves to others. you have to understand that not all people born in a modern society life like we do. what is saddening is the fact that nowadays, people forget where they came from. people should be proud of their race, and without looking down or differently to other races. the world is a beautiful place with different races
@SatannicaHelvete What scientists? Please provide references when referring to the work of third parties. If race was significant outside the value that the people who define race give to it, then explain why there are so many great people from various ancestral 'divisions' that have made amazing discoveries or achievements? Personally, I give greater value to the individual than to the group.
@Sakom true indeed! take for instance the yaqui indian tribe! their lands are both in california and northern states of mexico! we are brown people, ignorant people are the ones who still dont know that before borders and all that shit happened, NATIVE AMERICANS RANGED from all the way up in Alaska to southern peru!! ohh and that california texas etc, belonged to mexico!

gosh i have the same story...i'm so so so in love with him..but i was like O.O when he started speak english that well.!!!he acts so good!<3 i think he's mexican..

@EdMagikTV Maybe you can educate some of these ignorant children here. What
is a "Mexican"? White? Black? European?African?Asian? I'm not talking about the
place that science says all humans originated from either.Rudy speaks Spanish
as do many people who are Mexican-American.Where he comes from is not too
hard to understand or comprehend.Unfortunately, the youth today are brain dead!

@CarlosMacMartin In Pre-Columbian America, there were people who didn't speak Spanish until the Europeans came over. EdMagikTV 1 year ago
@EdMagikTV Your ancestors would have to be from the area of what is today
called Mexico.Pre-Columbian also includes Maya (not in Mexico),people from the
Andes, and Mississippi peoples. So for example,if your relative was from Peru and
from the Inca, you would not call yourself "Mexican" or "part Mexican".Just like a
person of Peru today would not call themselves Mexicans. This is a in depth
subject and I think I know where you are trying to take us.Every case is different.

@CarlosMacMartin Mexicans are a melting pot, many mexicans claim pure Native blood, but in reality only a DNA test can determine that. @gospelnews123 Yes,it's a nationality and those who are born in Mexico are considered "Mexicans".However,
there are many who are born in the USA of Mexican descent and are still considered Mexicans,Chicanos,or
"Mexican-American".Both of my parents are nearly full-blooded "American Indian (Mixed) but according to the
US Census since they don't have tribal cards are called "Mexican-American".Whatever.Rudy is of Mexican
descent as are many people in the Southwestern United States.

I worked with Rudy at a Pizza Hut in Texas when he was in high school and believe me he is a very good person!! I never expected him to breakout like he did. He was quite and seemed a bit shy, well mannered, and a class act.
