The original Myst will not play on newer versions of Windows. My copy played on WinME but will not play on Vista. I also have a copy of the Myst Anniversary trilogy, which contains, Myst, Riven, and Myst III - Exile. I haven't been able to get Riven to play on Vista, but some people have. You can find most Myst games on Amazon. If there is a used games shop in your city, you might find a copy there. Console versions are also available.

You can get myst masterpiece edition, it is a little newer version of myst, you should be able to play it on a newer cpu

I think they ruined myst in a way when myst 5 came out. The people were made to be realistic not some computer images. I hope they make a new myst :)

There's still speculation about an Open Source version of Uru and given that the iPhone port of the original "Myst" was a big hit, I think that the ending has not yet been written...

its incredible how far the myst series has gone in only 14 years... the story and background is almost a religion to some people. personally i absolutely love all the games. my favorite ages to visit were spire,haven,todelmer,k'veer, and Kadish Tolesa. what were your favorite ages?

Myst 6 with pictures would be lovely. Atrus should be in it and look his old gorgeous self as in the first three games of course older and wiser (but not with that stupid ponytail. SO UNCOOL!!!!)

Gimme Myst 6,7 etc. Keep it personal. Love URU and the 2 expansions. Such memories in all these games. Fun beyond description. Music that blows away all. Graphics to be swept away by. Like having your own universe in a pc. If only the new live stuff could be one person off line on separate disks, now that would sell! Tell Cyan....Pleeeeeeeeese!

I still have my original Journal from the original MYST game. I treat it like gold. It's very nostalgic to go back and look through it. I literally wrote down EVERYTHING!

I was in Jr. High when I played it. I remember my mom being irate with me when she would catch me at 3:00am sneaking in some playing time. That was the first game I can honestly say I was addicted to. I was quite proud of myself to say that I beat it in two weeks. It's also the one game I constantly go back and replay.

Riven. Ah yes, the must frustrating and yet beautifully riveting game ever. A true classic. I wish I could return for a moment back to the day that Riven was released and relive the experience of going through it the first time, back when its graphics were revolutionary.

Well I won't spoil End of Ages but so far in Uru's first "season" (periodical episodic content releases and story progressions), there were good Bahro and bad Bahro fighting a war. Yeesha led them out of the Cavern and from her words I think she plans to die in the process. :( In the final episode, Exodus, the DRC left AGAIN to find funding, but we're still chillin' down here. Join the party! Season 2 is supposed to start next month in Februrary.

Uru is the online version that I believe Rand Miller wanted the fans to really get into. Sadly it never really made it big when it first came out in 2000 I beleive. But Cyan has since revived it and its probably doing better. I've had the CD's for several years but never reinstalled it. You can make your own character and do stuff online with others but I think there's a montly fee for new content.

It's the Gallery Theme from Uru. Tim Larkin said in a chat once that it's actually the voice of Kadish's wife you are hearing, singing for him to return to her during the Fall of D'ni.

I know. The problem is that Time Warner isn't a terribly international business, and so it has to sic it's team of lawyers on this issue. We have, however, been assured by GameTap that they are working on it. IIRC, the free client is now available for free worldwide at gametap dot com (at least, it was for a few days)
