@TheRoyalReg1 I'm sorry I affended you random internet douche, I will be more careful with your ADHD controled spaz attacks, but anything but reply to my comment. It just is the only way to make a point, and oh, it is just plain insulting. Excuse me, but I have to go back living a life.
@UnStupified@moloveta actually when the disc is pressed it gets covered with a layer of film. The DVDs are supposed to be dipped in a solution to set the film on the disc correctly but cheaply made disks or errors can happen and the film is not set correctly. Boiling the disk sets the film to the disk. It won't remove deep scratches but it will help with manufacturing errors.
@Deekman is it true that in australia the water in the toilet spins counter clockwise? and if so does that mean your faucets point UP so the water pours out? and is the hot water handle located on the left side like in america or is it on the right side. and does the hot water faucet pour out cold water?
How about sometimes can read and sometimes can't read Xbox Disc? Will it work? I always have problem reading my Guitar Hero II game... due to scratches...
This doesn't take out scratches this just melts the coating left on the disk by some suppliers (Xbox magazine usually has a problem like this) For scratches I suggest taking it to your local video rental store and seeing if they can resurface the disk.
Ah... thanks... my GH2 disc is giving me problems... my 360 can't read the disc properly and I have to pop in and out many times before it can read... thanks for the info...
the funny thing is, years ago when i heard about this i was like .. hahah bullshit.. then i tried it.. now everyones doing it.. and the best part is.. it really does work.. it cleanes off durt and acids on the disc where as disk cleaners put crappy shit all over your disc... nice vid man :) lol victory beans :)
Yes it definatly works. I was skeptical at first aswell (that's why I only tried it with Demo disks) but after my first one was done and it works perfectly now I'm not as worried any more. Just remember not to over do it 15 seconds tops.
You can ask on the OXM forums or the teamxbox forums that's where I got the instructions before making this video.
Didn't work!

@moloveta I think the boiling the disc makes it melt slightly so that the scratchs get filled in.

I have one of the faulty MW2 discs they made for the 360, this allowed it to read the disc enough to bring up the install menu so I can install it.
Nice trick, no victory beans though.

In theory yes but I have not tried.
If you simply have no other way of getting your disk to work then heck yeah give this a try!
I wrote a full article on my experience with it over on my website.

does this really work cause i dont want to try it and it doesnt work
SBDONKS575JEANS 4 years ago
No this just works for games where the film on top hasn't set properly from the manufacturer.
This isn't a way to get rid of scratches. You can try and take it into a video store and getting them to try and buff it out.
