That's a good point. People have marveled at how prescient Ike was in this address. The fact is, he knew about the emerging military-industrial complex because he worked with them: Alan Dulles, Prescott Bush, and even George H. W. Bush. Ron Paul's point was that the Republicans have won on anti-war platforms. They have not always been true to their promises. The worst offender was George W. Bush.
