  • Pretty interesting.

  • dont hurt that bad ex did ripped mine off before

  • Damn, i'm 14 and I've got to have this done on monday, great...

  • @ThePoisonpizza good luck! even though it's probably today.. but hope all goes well :D

  • @LydiaGerrard98 Thanks only saw this message after, but it didn't really go well. The doctor didn't give me enough anesthetic so I felt everything, especially when he ripped the toe nail out...

The only reason I didn't say anything was because I wanted to get it over and done with.

Oh well, it's done now thankfully...

  • @ThePoisonpizza daammnnn sounds painful! sorry to hear :/ but you're gonna have great feet now!xD

  • @LydiaGerrard98 Yeah, I suppose so.

I'm glad I watched this video, it didn't look that bad (even though it was) it gave me some confidence.

By the way I did get a lolly XD

  • @ThePoisonpizza oh, i didnt get a lolly! .....damn!

  • ummm,,did he numb ur toe first?

  • aww shit that hurt, my toes still bandaged XD

  • How much is the operation without insurance ? Will the insurance cover it?

  • damn. I have one on both my feet :(

  • How did I get here ?

  • you are viewer 127,001.

  • The wooden sticks applied to the side of the nail probably contain silver nitrate and is applied as a cauterizing agent (to keep it from bleeding).

  • @Merrimon1987 The wooden sticks actually have a chemicle on them to prevent the nail from growing back.

  • @sammysyrett Sorry, the sticks are probably used to perform a matricectomy using phenol or sodium hydroxide acid, the killing of the nail matrix thus stopping further nail growth. Though they have the same looking sticks that are used to chemically cauterize wounds as well. The tournicot should have given it away. lol

  • So in other words Phenol =)

  • I don't feel good. I can't go to work now...

  • Can you put a big sock or pillow case over your foot after to go out? How long did you wait to go out?

  • @Zippyzah you can do what you want, it depends on your own personal recovery times.... I just wore slippers - open ended slippers / big slippers, and took the afternoon and the next day off work.

  • @sammysyrett how much did it hurt? i have the same problem and it hurts some times. please tell, and did they druged you at you feet?

  • @xaralampos1959 yeah they drug your feet and it doesnt hurt...i m a dr

  • i luv women with a british accent or spanish XD

  • i had it when i was 7 it was nothing tbh the injection is nothing but then after u have the stiches it quite hurts but it was ok now im 12 i got it on my other toe and now the doctor said i just have to use salt water to calm it down and not cut my nail for 3 months and it will be good :D thumbs up if u think i deserved a lolly when i was 7 for having it :P

  • WTF my operation was more complicated they did it in 20 minutes

  • i had both of my toes done this year

    was pain the ass

but can wear my shoes again

  • How Long Is The Recovery Time? please reply ASAP!!

  • @bobfari depends but not long, a day or 2 just take it easy for a bit...

  • I'M HAVING MY TOENAIL DONE TOMORROW!!!!!!!! :-(

  • omg do u need crutches after

  • i went to the e.r. for a severe ingrown toenail. they would not help me with it. they gave me vicodin and gave me a foot doctor's phone number. bitches.

  • i can feel your pain in the toe man. I took the operation today

  • I've a little but Important question... Is this without local anesthesia?? Don't is it right? I've one of this problem in my fingernail. :/

  • @WarGuitarMaster yes, they give you injections to numb your foot.

  • i had an ingrown toenail before, i got it removed. 4 FRICKEN TIMES! So now im just going to get it removed

  • Oh shit I'm in the weird section of YouTube again -_-

  • i just had mine done about a month ago and the only thing that hurt about that surgery was the shots other than that it didnt hurt but the pain from the shots is so worth not having the pain in your toes anymore! im so glad i mad e the choice to have it done.

  • YouTube is a dam scary place!

  • Do the parts that were taken off grow back? I have them once in a while and it hurts a lot. I tried once to let it grow and cut straight, but they always go back into the skin, my nails are too round and too large for my toe, I wish they were flatter.

  • @ntheoret they can, but shoudnt

  • @ntheoret most of the time they give you an option of putting a chemical down in your toe so they have a less chance of growing back..... i just had both my big toes done about a month ago and thy put the chemicals in mine.

  • holy fuck that looks brutal she like twists the naila n skin around! fuk that>

  • I had both done, and they bled and hurt like hell for about 2 days, but after a week it aint so bad

  • My sister is getting that done to her. :/ soon

  • well i used to want to be a doctor but i would not be able to even think about doing this, i cringe every time i see your doctor do something

  • WHY THE FUCK AM I WATCHING THIS???

  • @in4ming Its like a car crash... i dont wanna look.... but ya kinda do.

  • I had this done today. It hurt after....well actually it was a little sore. I am not in any pain now 9 hours after. These videos can make people more nervous and do not always reflect the reality of the toenail removal. Be cool and have an open mind about what the podiatrist does and you'll be fine.

  • Anyone else tighting up their Toes?

  • Fuck. That

  • ITs hurts so bad. The drugs did not work on me when i did it so i feelt everything... its sucks...

  • its actually easier to do it yourself

  • How is the you are not filling nothing?

  • I think I need this done :(

  • So what are those sticks theyre putting in on both sides of your nail for?

  • @KillTheCurse - I've watched some other videos about ingrown toenails, and I believe that's some kind of acid being applied. It's a procedure to make sure that your nails won't become ingrown again.

  • @carablake81 hmm!

  • @carablake81 You are correct. It's supposed to kill growth in the nail bed so your nail doesn't grow back. Sometimes it doesn't work quite right though. I have had this operation done 5 times between my two big toes and it was all because my nails wouldn't stop growing! This was even after they had been completely removed and the acid applied.

  • Does it hurt after?

  • @RipcityBlackops think about it logically.... would it hurt after if you cut your finger open... yes, when the anesthetic wears off, it does get sore and hurt, but pain killers help, and its not unbareable. :)

  • @sammysyrett i bet its a good feeling once they get it out :)

  • @sammysyrett really ?

when i got it i had no pain what so ever in the recovery process

  • @RipcityBlackops Not really but that was just my case. I am sure some do.

  • That guy does a horrible job. Yipes.Dont go to him.

  • just had it today on both toes. got to take the nails home! like having a stanley knife blade removed

  • THAT GOTTA HURT

  • Jesus FUCKING CHRIST!

  • oh my..is it painful

  • I had ingrown toe nails because im a dancer, and i got one of them removed. the needles reallyyyyyyy hurt! like no joke, i cried. but the rest was easy and a peice of cake. but that needle... and i have to get my other toe done. but once you do it you dont have to be in pain anymore. expecially for the pointe girls.

  • did you like feel NYTHING?

  • how painful is the actual surgery not the numbing the surgery i have ingrown toe nails on both feet but its in the early stages so yeah is it unberiable

  • @herpdude122 you dont feel a thing during surgery

  • I've had it done and am so thankful for it.

  • i had my left big toe operated on to cut out my ingrown.... the only thing that went wrong is the 2nd anestetic needle went right through my toe.... wasn't too happy

  • 1st of all, I would like to say, you're very brave for watchin & filming this!

I have 2 in-grown toenails & I always cut them out myself & they grow back in a couple of months. Mine grow back because I don't cut them to the root, like the doctor cut yours. So I wanted to ask you, did the sides of your nail ever grow back?

  • I'm going to have this in the next week or so! My toe is so sensitive right now I can't imagine how that will feel I hope they numb it or something lol. I don't care if the doctor doesn't have anesthetic he/she has my permission to whack me round the head with something.

  • @XPFanatix they will numb your toes with injections that sting, i have video of that "pre op injections sammy syrett"

  • @sammysyrett That's a relief!

  • I have had this done to my big toes too.. but instead of a chemical, I got my toes burned with laser.. almost gaurenteed that the nails wont grow back.. ^^

ty for having the courage to filming this. I was too busy hyperventilating and cruching my bfs hand to think about how it looked like XD

  • I swear, doctors do nothing but just butcher your body

  • Oh thanks, now I am going to have permanent wrinkles from all the awful squinting I just did by watching this.

  • I may be having this happen to me... I do NOT like this at alll.... My feet are VARY sensitive... just watching the video is making me feel pain.....

  • ouch

  • its like watching mine getting done all over again they didnt put all the iodine on my toe they just injected it to make it numb

  • my opperation didnt take that long. 5 minutes tops and they didnt put that orange stuff on mine. all i can say is im glad i didnt watch the surgery when they actually did it. im not looking forward to soaking my foot in vinegar tonight

  • What is the purpose of those wooden sticks?

  • @Tepadj they have stuff on them so that the nail wont grow back

  • @NCFigureSkater13 Thanks! Have been wondering that for a while :)

  • why is there a condom an your toe????

  • My niece just had this surgery so I watched to see what was involved. You're pretty brave that you could film that yourself--when they jammed those sticks in I nearly lost my dinner! Why did they do that? Was there some sort of medicine on them to keep the nail from growing back?

  • @beijingteacher thanks, i just had to suck it up for youtube lol, yea, its a chemical to prevent the nail growing back but its not gaurenteed, mine are startig to grow back so looks like ill have to have it done again, but i dont think ill film it next time lol

  • aaaahhhh why am I watching this??

  • NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • AHHHHHHHHHHH WTF!!!

  • nossaaaaaaaaaaa

  • @ITryReallyHard it took me about 2 weeks to recover my doctor told me to soak my foot in water with salt and it was just nasty

  • I'm 45, I've had broken bones, torn muscles, migraines and toothaches, but I have never hurt like I did when the doctor stuck that needle into my big toes. I had two ingrown nails at the same time

  • How long did it take to fully recover?

  • How long did it take to fully recover?

  • what are the sticks for?

  • Eww! I just ate a sandwich!

  • Well..that's cute.D:

  • how the fuck could you film them whilst they did this to you...

  • I want to throw up

  • i was going to try to do this in my basement.... fuck that shit.

  • she is still learning how to use chopsticks

  • i had something done with my big toes they sprayed this stuff that freezes it hurt and numbed my toes which i hated it and then they had to operate on them they said they where infected that night i fainted and in the morning same thing i hated going back and they stuck this medal thing inside my toes in the sides of but the nails it hurt

  • Ahhhh i gotta av this

  • I had this done once... It didn't work and my ingrown toenails came back. :( The stuff they used to "kill" the sides of the nail bed smelled like burt cat pee too. All in all, I would not do it again.

  • i dont know why im watching this. its gross lol

  • im getting this done in a few weeks and im now shitting, im scared of needles! :(

  • @supercrazyman105 Relax. The needle is tiny. It stings a little, but the sting from the needle is FAR better than the agonizing pain of doing it without a local.

  • That looks so painful.

  • @NerdForMIT I had it done, they numbed me up. you don't feel anything.

  • @TheDudelikeCrackers Yea but what happens when the number wares off???? dun dun dunnnnn

  • @NerdForMIT The opereation takes like five minutes. @0 minutes later, i still couldnt feel my toes 0_o

  • I have to agree, the novacaine is a bitch!

But once the shot of nocacaine is in, you are

sailing away to the island of no pain.

Through the years. I've had a few finger drainings,

the incision isn't huge, and not as graphic as what

I just saw in the video, but it's not a plesant

    thing to do.

Like I want to spend time at a medical clinic or ER, just for a pus

draining. Yeah, sure, it's on the top of my list! LOL.

great video, I learned about ingrown tonail surgery. Thanks .

  • I remember that when i actually stopped feeling pain was when i had those sticks in my toe :s, and I think i gotta get it done on my other one because its growing like a mofo.

  • I'm having this done tommorow, i've had this done before and the numbing is what hurts the most. Once the numbing i think in my head finally the battle is over!!!!!!!!!

  • I just got mine.. the shots are the most pain you will feel. It is just awkward to watch, there is no pain during and very tender after.

  • So I have a disease called Hemophilia and i have 3 ingrown toe nails im getting sent out to remove them i had them for almost 3 years now and im 14 years old.

  • I probably have to have this done tomorrow. And I am very nervous

  • That worked really good. All they do is twist it. I think i might do this at home! I have an ingrown on both big toes

  • I had one once! I popped that baby out with toenail clippers and screaming!

  • i was given about 4 or 5 shots of anesthetic at the end start of the ingrown toe (closest to foot) but i could actually still feel almost every thing while the doc was working on my toe. I had seen him many times for the same operation and never once did i go through that pain. Could it be that i'm like immune to the anesthetic now?

  • I just had this done yesterday but nobody lathered my foot up with barbecue sauce like they did for you...

  • @jaredttemple then prepair for possible infection... good luck with that lol

  • @jaredttemple haha ive had it done twice now and no infection! they did put the same stuff that they slobbered all over your foot just on my toe before but I didn't watch the procedure.

  • @jaredttemple he he :) , yea, i cant watch my own video! lol

  • How painful was this? And would you recommend it for someone who's had chronic ingrown toenails for the past 20 years?

  • @HyphyDais420 you have injections before this and not painful, i was filming this was i screaming lol. yea, get it done

  • cool

  • jakkie bah

  • i put a garden fork through my foot and out the other side

  • hope they don't pay you by the hour you are slower than shit come on dude !!!!

  • the ingrown nail wont return after this operation right?

  • She has yellow toe nails l0lll

  • First Day hurts like shit.

  • eww

  • did this hurt???

  • hey does it hurt when they start cutting and stuff i gotta get mine cutt

  • @JayOmezMusic

It doesnt hurt once they put the shots and that rubber band.

  • Doesnt it hurt

  • did it hurt?

  • just had my 2nd one today. had my first 4 years ago. both feets both big toes both sides gone. feels good bit of throbing but ohwell. worst but is the injections at the begining by a mile then the rest just feels tuging and pulling to be honest. if anyone out there is nervous dont worry it doesnt really hurt at all a little bit of pain for a life time painless touch wood.

  • @epalepzeHD its the needle thats kills ahah, forgot to mention the after pain, had myn done the same day as you, and i was in 5hours of constant pain lol

  • that orange stuff would be great fora barbie tan!

  • the dr works extremely nice and clean!!

  • the shots hurt soo bad. they didnt freeze mine, plus im deadly afraid of needles. :( i was bawling during the shot and i screamed twice, it was the worst pain ive ever felt. (im14)

  • I see talent.

  • i recently hit my door against a sidewalk while biking and the back part of it cracked and bruised do you have any idea what i should do?

  • @redcolorguy2 get your door looked at. ... lol

  • You hit your Door?? And it started bleeding and brusing?? Maybe You should have that looked at...........

  • did it hurt?!!

  • wow lucky u barely bled! as soon as she cut me, my toe was bleeding like crazy!

  • How bad was your ingrown? Because I have one right now and its been hurting for a few days. And is it really costly?

  • Oh my God! Those feet are horrible!!!! Hobbit feet!

  • @dolltwin lol the same thing happen to me

  • On a scale of 1-10, how painful is it? 0_o

  • @4shad0w Worst part is getting the local. That's about a 6. It's pretty stingy, especially as the needle goes deeper. But it only lasts for a few seconds, and it feels SO much better after the surgery. It's worth it.

  • does this hurt?

  • hmmmmmmmmm MMmmmmmmmmmmmm looks delicious!! awww now im hungry :(

  • Was the jag sore ?
