Jim sounds so out of breath these days in his interviews. =( I hope he is in good health. Exercise and a healthy cardio is more important than money. Health Wealth and Love should all be balanced. Take care Jim! You are the man.
i'm holding cash. when margin calls come, gold/silver will dive due to selling to cover margin calls. then i'll buy. don't buy now because crash will come soon.
@nontrainspotter Jim is in the business of making money all over the world. Nothing wrong with investing in a country that opens up. You would have said the same thing about Vietnam a long time ago and look where we are today.
@mredstriumph The quantum fund was a long time ago....I think jim left in 1980? 31 years ago. He almost never talks about soros in his interviews.
One thing I like about jim....he is ready to admit what he *doesn't know*. He doesn't just endlessly hype what an interviewer wants to hear...i.e. about gold. He's pretty balanced.
@mredstriumph that's why he NEVER talks into depth about the partnership with Soros. You can tell by the way he reacts to questions about Soros that he can't stand the guy.. Maybe he was just one of the first ones to realise with such a "predator", as you describe him.
Sure, I guess that's a possibility, & another is that he's the "good" cop. I have to tell instinctively, I really really like Jim Rogers. I've read a couple of his books,I admire him, & he & his wife Page as two of the most interesting people alive.
Still, If ** I ** were a billionaire, & had worked with a fascist sociopath who's trying to destabilize the economy of the country I love - as he AND Rogers had done to UK w the "Quantum" fund - you couldn't shut me up. It worries me.
It should be illegal to deal with Myannmar as long as the current dictatorship rules there. I understand the desire to make money, and I support free markets, but that's just blood money.
@pretorious700 I don't know any specifics about Myannmar, but often times trade can help oppressed people more than sanctions just because it helps them maintain a half-way decent standard of living despite the jack-boots.
@pretorious700 So you want to force your morality on others? That's not freedom. That's not liberty. Persuade people peacefully to divest in Myanmar, but don't use the guns of the govt to pursue your own personal agenda.
b/c Silver/Gold have been money $ for thousands of years. Plat/Palladium were only discovered a few hundred years ago - their big demand or lack thereof is from industry.
The connection was bad.

I really like Jim Rogers, but his former Quantum Fund partnership with Soros troubles me to no end.
How could such a great seeming guy have been so intricately involved with such a predator??
