Tom Cruise? I'm sorry, but I refuse to believe any of this. I don't think any of the people they claim to be beautiful in these videos are at all. I admit that some of them are not bad-looking, but I don't see them as anything special. Personally I don't like large lips or an angular jaw/high cheekbones very much. It just doesn't spark anything in me. There is a line between ugly and not ugly, but I think they are going too far in narrowing down what is considered beautiful.

How do they explain that one mole on one cheek looks interesting, but two symmetrically moles at both cheeks would just look funny? I think that things that are non-symmetric in general, can be quite charming, and that a face which is too symmetric is... well, nice to look at and interesting in one way. But non-symmetric might be cute and just as interesting in its own way!

Hmm, I think these beauty standard are entirely based on the European ideal...because of course, among those with African ancestry, darker skin is natural, not a way of "fooling potential mates into thinking that one is healthy." But, I think that familiarity among races is broadening the beauty standard, I am very dark skinned, with a nose wider than average, and some people (white people, too) find me attractive. I don't know...what are other's thoughts on this?

Symmetrical faces, I believe, are beautiful to have if you are a woman and big noses on women are so ugly. Wide noses are ugly for everyone.Pointy,sharp noses and sometimes even hooked can be very attractive.

Lol, he made later a mask again for males. In this mask eyebrows are lower and the jaw line ends almost at the ear. So the mask that fits Tom Cruise is a mask for women. I think this show points out the instinctive perception of beauty not on people, but on white people specifically.(e.g. the wide nose of blacks, which the majority of whites don't find attractive, but the majority of blacks do.)

I can't speak for other European countries but many people here in Denmark don't rate people with Caucasian features as attractively as people with more "exotic" features. When Oprah and Mrs. Obama were here, the beauty editors, press, etc. were all over the place about these stunning beauties the way Americans might be about Brazilian models of German descent. Thankfully others focused on other things than the ladies appearance.

@BlueAllegory Exactly beauty is in the eye of the beholder. No one person will find the same thing or same person beautiful. That's impossible. For example a lot of people find big noses unattractive, but there are some people like me who think big noses are hot on men. Symmetrical faces are boring on men, George Clooney,Brad Pitt and those types look like females to me.

Totally agree with you. I really cant look at anybody and categorize them as ugly or beautiful. I agree that some pple look more aesthetically pleasing than others, but that doesnt go to say that the others dont have anything to recommend them.
