@Passy85 They just released the Companion 20's (2.0 system that replaces that C3's), they'll release I new version of the C5's I'm guessing but this is 2011 :P

This computer here im not using anymore my new computer has 7.1 surround but its useless because bose C5 got an inbuild sound card 5.1 so u dont need any high end sound card :D if u plan on buying this dont hesitate

Subwoofer and Acoustimass bass module are same but functions diff.

Subs are meants to be seen and heard. better with high-range, mid range and a little low range bass.

Acoustimass bass Module are meant to be hide-behind a curtain, under a desk, behind a coach. excellent on mid range, a little on low range lows BUT can shake youre room/ house on high range lows, dont give much "sounds"

I have these for 6 months now! they r great & awesome! They're very versatile, can connect 2 mp3/dvd player, radio, tv. D power of dis speaker is 300w - 150 per channel. They R expensive BUT u get wot you pay 4! Bose also have outdoor speakers 4 those "outside" elements.

ALL name brand speakers R made of paper cone. My grandpa has bose 901( i think) speakers way back in the '80's N they work great & awesome sounds. Bose is NOT 4 youre below average consumer.

DVD Player - Connected it thru a stereo mini plug. DVD Hphone Jack OUT - TO youre bose Comp 5(C5) audio Jack IN. Just make sure its "stereo" plug & not "mono". The bose C5 has a decoding capability of which can assign a specific channel of audio to each speaker in a 5.1 sound - creating the ultimate surround experience.

TV - can connect via a Y jack, again, cant reproduce a 5.1 surround sound but its not going 2 b noticeable esp. on high volume.

I have it in a ikea cast on a shelter 1 cm of the ground and i prefer the rubber nops that get with it on the bottom that gives me best experience but i think ive u have or made some box(open) made of mdf it will always do

Alright my opinion after 1.5 years they sound just crisp and clear like they came out of the box only one problem occured when i upgraded to vista sp2 my usb driver had problems dissorters and complete failing then i uninstall the pack and nothing happend then i did clean reinstall not upgrading and they work subberb but thats not bose its vista and i like vista alot so no flaming about vista

Haha, great speakers and nice vista theme going on there. The reason why I got the companion 3 over these is because of the price. It's just too much for that 5.1 sound but I certainly don't mind having these if I had a larger amount of disposable income...

they must not sell this as a 5.1 system but at great quality 2.1 in some movies u will hear something behind u but the dvd must have DTS or something on music its just great sound i will make a little opinion about the speakers in a next message

do you have any specs on how big the subs driver is, or the total system rms power ? Very difficult to find bose specs

yeah, its a little overpriced indeed. BUT what we call the soundcard is build in. so you need no other soundcard, olny plug USB. I've heard this system in reallife, nice huge soundstage. Only real problem is that the sub produces some low mids which is not what a sub has to do (can be heard in this video at 0:11 - 0:15).

For the same money they ask for any Bose, one can always get a better system. even cheaper.

Bose is just too over priced. They must recover all the money they threw in the thousands advertisings. And recover from who? THE BUYER!!! Thats why their systems are sooooooo expensive.

I agree to pay more for good equipments, but to pay more for average stuff just because they need to recover what they had invest in all the commercials? NO WAY. I pass, let people who dont know about audio to do that.

Hey, I just wanna know what title on that song you played first?? and by the way, bose have great sound, its just the speakers wont last long because it uses a paper cone technology, so most of the speakers are made of paper, eventually, it will wear out, and if your living nearby the beach or a humid environment, its not good for those bose speakers.

boost 11+ there going to die the subwoofer is also massive but if you want two speaker and minimal cables and you dont need a expensive

sound card so its 3 for one 5.1 surround - only 3 components(incl subwoofer) and a high end sound card believe me its worth the money

i've heard this set some times...

these small speakers sound big and full. All frequenties are tight and acurate. Surround effects work great. A bit pricy BUT they have the power amp AND the pre-amp (soundcard) build in - SO DONT BUY THESE IF U JUST SPENT 300 DOLLARS ON A SOUND CARD!!!
