I don't think it was racism - I think the show fixed it so Sarah would get in instead of Javine - I think this for two reasons:

1 - height - look at Javine's height compared to the 5 members of Girls Aloud - she's much taller, if she'd made the band she'd always have to stand in the middle...

2 - text votes - after the result, many people claimed they voted for Javine and received replies from ITV saying "you have voted for Sarah". This may just be a rumour though.
